Following up PopCap's earlier announcement that Bookworm Adventures 2 will launch on July 30 for PC, we have some screenshots to share with you! Check them out.
Plants vs Zombies Review
After clicking though the disappointing Bejeweled Twist late last year, we were concerned PopCap Games, one of our favorite casual game companies, had lost its mojo. Thankfully, we were dead wrong.
From the folks who brought us Peggle, Insaniquarium, Chuzzle and Bookworm Adventures comes – get this – a game about plants. Tough plants. Plants so tough they can stop hoards of nasty zombies from terrorizing the neighborhood. Plants vs. Zombies is a quirky Tower Defense-style game of wits that might look like a cakewalk, but proves to be as challenging as it is fun.
Bejeweled Twist Review
With more than 350 million copies downloaded and more than 25 million units sold, PopCap's Bejeweled games are without question the most popular casual game franchise of our time. Little did the developers know in 2000, when Diamond Mine launched (later to be renamed Bejeweled), this simple yet addictive puzzler would spawn countless clones, sequels and spin-offs for multiple platforms.
As you probably heard by now, PopCap is back with its most ambitious follow-up to date: Bejeweled Twist. Nearly four years in the making, this game attempts to reinvent the match-three genre. Did PopCap Succeed? Yes and no.
Peggle Nights Review
If you fell in love with the original Peggle game - and as you can see by our rare 5-star score, Gamezebo was certainly one of them - you will likely enjoy playing through PopCap's Peggle Nights, the first of what will likely be many sequels for this popular arcade game.
Feeding Frenzy 2 Review
It's a dog-eat-dog world out there.
Or rather, it's a fish-eat-fish world, something millions of gamers are well aware of after clicking through Feeding Frenzy, one of the more popular casual games to surface over the past few years.
If you're still hungry for more, PopCap has just released Feeding Frenzy 2, a splashy sequel that adds a boatload of new features, bonus fish and a fun storyline.
Venice Deluxe Review
It's not easy being PopCap Games. Sure, they're one of the most successful casual game makers in the business - and deservingly so as they continuously publish critically-acclaimed and commercially-successful games. Need proof? How about Bejeweled, Chuzzle, Zuma, Insaniquarium, Feeding Frenzy, Bookworm Adventures and Peggle, to name a few.
But as a result, gamers grow to expect nothing but greatness from them each and every time. They've raised the bar not just for the industry but for themselves. Venice Deluxe, their latest release, falls short of this greatness. It's good - but far from spectacular.
