Big Tree Defense Review

Big Tree Defense is a member of the tower defense genre of video games, in which players arrange assorted types of gun turrets and other fantastical weaponry in order to intercept and destroy wave after wave of attacking enemies. It's a simple concept that's been around for years; at their most basic, tower defense games are easy-to-play time-killers, but some of the more advanced versions require a surprising amount of strategic thinking. This one definitely falls into the latter category.

Sushi and cats go together like... well, they don't go together at all really. But who knew that such a pairing could prove to be so charming? Sushi Cat, Armor Games' take on the Japanese peg board game Pachinko, is a cute romp bolstered by some solid physics-based gameplay as well.

Mogo-Mogo Review

When playing last year’s indie Flash favourite Little Wheel, did you ever stop to wonder where this wonderful world of robots came from? One Button Bob Review

Mar 12, 2010, 8:26am

3.5

Someone once said that there’s great elegance to be found in simplicity. One button game design seems to reflect that sentiment perfectly. Whether you’re running for your life in Canabalt or trying to solve an endless series of mini-games in Click PLAY 2, these games are built around a single simple principle: you’ll never need to press more than one button. One Button Bob, as the name would suggest, is the latest game to showcase this style of gameplay.

Robot Unicorn Attack Review

Mar 12, 2010, 8:25am

3

I’m the last person who’d want to borrow words from a company’s press release, but I’m pretty sure nothing sums up Robot Unicorn Attack more accurately than this; “In our new game Robot Unicorn Attack you are a majestic, robotic unicorn smashing your way through a fantasy landscape to the sounds of Erasure's 1994 synth-pop masterpiece Always." We’ll understand if you don’t need to read the rest of this review. Just come back after you’ve played the game.
