I don't know why that other post is in here it has nothing to do with Jewel Quest III. So far I have found that the hardest part of JW3 is Central America. I have quit that level I don't know how many times, I have passed all but two of the boards and the other two are almost impossible to pass. If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated...... Send a Kudo Post a reply Quote & Reply

Yes, I am stymied too. I really like the game, the graphics, music and all the choices but when you get to the Gold Quest in Central America, it is almost impossible to win. I turned the board to gold many times and did not lose any gold coins off the board but only 4 coins came down during the game and 14 were needed to unlock the 7 locked boxes. Impossible to win! They are all different so maybe next time.....

    Report as Inappropriate

I'm not exactly sure as I am still figuring my way around this game. But, I think that when you have completed the silver, you automatically go on to the hidden quests. These are the boards where one square is "locked" and it needs to have 3 gold coins to unlock it. At least, that is the way is seems to be for me. Hope that helps a bit.

    Report as Inappropriate

The game only allows for a certain number of gold coins or fire things on the board at any one time. So if you can't match them, let them fall. Same with the fire things. The Hekla board for example only allows for 5 so you have to let them drop off the board.
For me this is the board I can't get past. between the solid gem off to the side on the bottom and an auto fill drop down, I have come close but I always run out of time.

I do like that there are no lives to be lost and I think I like that there is no score. I hope this helpas and if anyone has a hint to get through the above mentioned board I would be thrilled for the help!

    Report as Inappropriate

For the level where you must collect 5 gold coins try to have 2 at the right, 2 at the left in the same line with a space between them, and above that space should be the fifth. It's not hard, combine carefully.
I'm interesting in china hidden/gold quest where the hidden quest is : "Fill all traps before allowing any Monkeys to escape". I've done this many times, but the game wont give me the jewel. I'm now at 67 %, and this problem is stopping me. Please, help. Do i need to put monkeys in boxes at some order or what ?

  • I am in Iceland too and it

    Report as Inappropriate

I am in Iceland too and it is driving me crazy, have gotten all the boards except for the one that has the two dropping sides, I think the one you are talking about and the board is driving me crazy. Also playing, can't remember the continent but the one where you have to play match play with Sebastian (there are two continents where you do this but the one you played Emma and Sebastian and this continent was much easier), trying to beat Sebastian for some reason is for me anyway almost impossible, have not beat him one game. You can go to more than one continent but I think they only allow 2 continents at a time, just turn the globe and see if you see another continent with a green dot instead of a red one and you can play that one too, anything red is locked out until you win the other continents.

After reading you comments, I start to wonder if Hekla is possible to finish in time? I think I tried two million six thousand eight hundered and seven times and the best I acoplished is to melt all gems but not also to turn those spaces gold.

  • It depends on which region

    Report as Inappropriate

It depends on which region you are in, but if you read the diary entries carefully there is a clue to most of the hidden quests.

For instance, in the Australian boards, the first diary entry mentions that 149 coins is the most ever gathered - if you gather 150 you beat that 'record' and gain the jewel for that hidden quest.

  • When they say 'not escaping'

    Report as Inappropriate

When they say 'not escaping' they mean dropping off the bottom of the board - if you don't let any drop off then you will get the jewel for the hidden quest.

  • You have to let the coins

    Report as Inappropriate

You have to let the coins drop to generate more in a better area to get all the boxes unlocked. I have done it several times. I am up to the gold level in China and then hope to unlock the gold level in the Pacific Northwest to see what that one is like - with the final level in East Asia still locked. I only have two jewels left to fill in the slots in the ring around the globe.

You can complete the hidden quests while playing the silver ones, but if you don't, you get a more explicit clue before you can play the gold quest in each region.

  • If you concentrate on

    Report as Inappropriate

If you concentrate on getting the warm jewels to drop down near the ice blocks then after all of them are melted worry about going gold, you should be fine. Remember, you don't have to make a match to move a warm jewel next to an ice block - and one jewel can take out more than one ice block. In fact, that is the hidden quest in this region.

The first time I got the board that has three ice blocks at the bottom, in a reverse pyramid, I was able to drop a warm jewel in between all three - not only did I melt all three blocks at once, but I got the hidden quest jewel awarded and didn't even realize that was what the hidden quest was!

    I've done that twice, now.

This is the level that has my almost stymied, too - I have beat Sebastian four times, but still have four boards that are really tough.

You do know what the hidden quest is for this region is, don't you? Go to a tie with either Emma or Hani - I am not sure if tieing Sebastian counts, as I got the jewel before getting to the gold quest here.

    Report as Inappropriate

I know all that - in theory :D But when it comes to actually doing it on Hekla level, just impossible for me because by the time I manage to melt them all (happened only three times and I played the level A LOT), I ran out of time.
This is the last one on Iceland I have to do to unlock anything because except that level I have no where to go :(

  • If you line up three warm

    Report as Inappropriate

If you line up three warm jewels they will cancel out - do this in the middle of the board to get more to drop on the edges. That is how I did it on most of the boards - and I have played Iceland three times all the way through, as three different player names.

Basically, whenever you need something specific to drop - a warming jewel, coins in limited supply or the monkey heads for capture in China, if you don't have one it the right place, let it drop off the edge or 'sacrifice' three of them to get more to drop in a better area for you.
