News - MCF: Return to Ravenhearst Video & Release Date

Over at Rose Ravenhearst's Facebook Page (I can't believe I just wrote that), a new sneak peak video of Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst has been released.

This means 3 things:  (1) Someone in Big Fish Games just discovered Facebook as a marketing vehicle, (2) the game is coming out  to the general public on November 27, 2008, as posted at the end of the video, (3) we need to give away our last copy of MCF5: Return to Ravenhearst.  Expect a contest next week.

Send me an email if you have any brilliant ideas for a contest to give this last game copy away.  Watch the video for Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst and discuss the game in our forum.

Alabama Smith in Escape from Pompeii Review

3 and half Stars

Some puzzles are satisfying, but overall gameplay can be frustrating owing to a story that jumps between too many instructions and none at all.

Like The Sims, the goal of Citypixel is to establish a virtual life for yourself by creating a pixelized avatar and setting up an apartment, car and office space in the virtual city of Pixel York.

iPhone Friday: Live Poker the Holy Grail of Online Games?

Back when I worked at Yahoo!, we strove to achieve the holy grail of online gaming: creating a multiplayer online game that can be played seamlessly between players on the PC and mobile phone. Many have tried, but like King Arthur in Monty Python’s and the Holy Grail, all have failed.

Until now. Zynga, a leading social gaming company, has released Live Poker, a free iPhone app connecting players on the iPhone with the thousands of players playing games online through social networks. The result, quite frankly, is...the Holy Grail of Online Gaming. And my online poker habit shall never be the same.
