The YouTube Lofi Girl has gotten a brand-new makeover. No, it’s not official, but the inspiration is clear there – and I’m all here for it! This isn’t a game per se, as it’s more of a tool to use when you need to focus.

That doesn’t mean it doesn’t have any gameplay features though, in fact, it has plenty to keep you coming back. Add Spirit City: Lofi Sessions to your wishlist via the official Steam page – due to release on April 8th, 2024.

Spirited Customisation

Starting off, you can customise your own character, which is always a plus in my book. You can either opt for a more realistic depiction of yourself or a fully-fledged fantasy avatar with horns. It’s a supernatural-style game, after all! There are plenty of Spirits to choose from as well, which act as your companion. My personal favourite is the three-eyed cat with a pointy tail, just look how cute they look.

On the topic of Spirits, you unlock additional ones by finding them on your screen. Certain Spirits will appear depending on the time of day, sounds, the activity you’re focusing on, and other factors. For example, the Earlybirb has a higher chance of coming out during the morning! You assign a Spirit to be your companion during a focus session.

Choose Your Own Cosy Vibes

There are multiple scenes to choose from, such as relaxing on a beanbag with a book, working on a laptop at the desk (this one looks very much like the YouTube Lofi Girl!), and laying in bed while studying.

To accommodate the cosy scenery, there are relaxing lofi beats and soundscapes to play. Whether you like to listen to the rain while studying or the quiet rumbles of a distant thunderstorm, Spirit City: Lofi Sessions has got your back.

The best thing about the tool? You can set a useful to-do list, write out habits you want to stick with, journal your thoughts, and set a timer for each session. It’s an all-in-one application that motivates by rewarding you with EXP and brand-new customisation options. This gives you a constant sense of progression within your in-game space and in real life when completing your own tasks!
