Zombie Café - Game Introduction

Zombie Café is an iPhone game developed by Capcom that has players running their very own restaurant. Only it’s a restaurant staffed with undead zombies. Gamezebo’s Zombie Café strategy guide and walkthrough will provide you with a quick start guide, tips and tricks, hints and cheats so that you can have the best zombie-infested restaurant around.

Quick Start Guide

Getting Started

Zombie Café

  • Zombie Café can be downloaded from the App Store for free by following the “Play Now” link at the top of this page.
  • To start, you’ll need to create your avatar. You can choose either a male or female and select from a variety of different character looks and styles. If you decide later on that you want to switch things up, the game does offer the option to change your avatar at any time. All you need to do is tap on it, select info, and then select change avatar.
  • The first few minutes of the game consist mostly of a tutorial, which helps you get acclimated to the user interface. But after that you’re free to run your restaurant.

Cooking and Serving

  • The most important part of Zombie Café is cooking, because that’s how you’ll make most of your money. To cook something you’ll simply need to tap on the stove and select an item from the menu. As you gain experience additional menu items will become available.

Zombie Café

  • Each menu item has five characteristics that you’ll need to take into consideration before deciding what to make. The first is price, which is how you’ll need to pay for it. The second is the amount of time it takes to get ready, which can range anywhere from a few minutes to a few days depending on a dish. The third is the number of servings it creates. Fourth is how much each serving will earn you back in terms of cash. And finally, each dish earns you a certain amount of experience points per serving.
  • In order to cook you’ll need to ensure that someone -- whether it’s your avatar or one of your zombie helpers -- is at the stove for the entire duration. So if it takes eight hours to make a dish, someone will need to be at the stove cooking for that whole time.
  • If you don’t serve the dish soon after it’s ready it will burn and you’ll lose it. To help with this, you can set the game up to send you push notifications, which will alert you to when a dish is ready even if you aren’t playing the game. To do this simply select options from the main menu and turn notifications on.

Zombie Café

  • Another important thing to do is to ensure you always have a dish cooking. Each menu item only has a certain number of servings before it runs out, and if that happens you’ll be left with nothing to serve your customers. And with nothing to serve, you’re making no money. So as soon as one dish is ready get straight to cooking on the next one.
  • For the most part your zombie helpers will serve food automatically, provided they aren’t cooking. If there’s food to serve and a customer who’s ready, the zombies will almost always bring them something to eat. However, if you notice this isn’t the case, simply tap on the lazy zombie and select serving to make them get back to work.
  • As you gain experience levels you’ll be able to add additional zombies to your workforce. The little zombie face on the left side of the screen lets you know how many zombies you currently have and how many you’re able to have. To add a new zombie to the team simply tap on an unsuspecting customer and choose the infect option.

Energy and Fighting

  • Just like real people who aren’t dead, your zombies will get tired. If you tap on them you’ll see a meter that shows their level of fatigue. If this meter gets too low the zombie will stop being helpful and resort back to its natural ways: namely, attacking customers. And customers who are being attacked aren’t paying customers.

Zombie Café

  • To rest a tired zombie simply tap on it and choose the rest option. Resting zombies will hang out outside of your restaurant, standing around on the lawn. Once they’re fully refreshed simply tap on them again and choose the work option.
  • Every once in a while you’ll be notified that a nearby restaurant is stealing your customers. Thankfully, you have a whole bunch of zombies to take care of that.

Zombie Café

  • If you select the map icon on the left hand side of the screen you’ll bring up a map of the neighborhood, which shows all nearby restaurants. By selecting a restaurant you’ll be able to visit it and, if you choose, let your zombies loose.

Zombie Café

  • An important factor to consider when deciding which restaurant to attack is its level, If a restaurant is a higher level than you, chances are you’ll lose the battle. If this happens all of your fallen zombies will have to sit around and wait a few hours to become reanimated. This leaves you with a scant workforce to run your restaurant.

Zombie Café

  • Once you decide to enter an opposing restaurant your zombies will line-up outside and you’ll need to select each one individually to tell them to attack. You don’t have any control over the battle, you’ll instead just get to watch as your zombies lay siege on the restaurant’s customers and employees.
  • If you do win you’ll earn cash, experience, extra meals, and maybe even some toxin. Any of your zombies who died during battle will have to wait a few hours to be reanimated.

Toxin

  • There’s a special substance in Zombie Café called toxin. This strange serum can be used to do lots of helpful things, like make meals cook instantly or quickly energize one of your workers.

Zombie Café

  • You’ll start out with a few vials of toxin, but you’ll very rarely earn new vials as you play. The main way you can get more is to actually purchase it. There are several different quantities you can buy it in, ranging from 50 to 1,000. Unsurprisingly, these range in price quite a bit, costing anywhere from $5 to $100.
  • To purchase additional toxin tap the tiny vial with a + on it in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
