Welcome to our strategy guide for Youda Sushi Chef.

HOW TO PLAY

(1) You can choose between "very easy" and "normal" game play modes. The game can be played in English (US or UK), Dutch, German, French, Spanish, and Italian — wow. You can also adjust the graphic performance.

(2) Name your first restaurant, and you’re ready to play! The name doesn’t matter, so choose whatever you like best.

(3) Your first customer arrives with an order for Ikura Maki. To find out what the ingredients are, you need to click your sushi recipe book. The game doesn’t stop while you’re browsing the recipe book, so be quick.

(4) To make Ikura, you need 1 rice and 1 fish egg. Click these on the ingredients tray to the left.

(5) To finish, click the bamboo roller mat to roll up the sushi. If you’ve made a mistake, you can click the golden arrow underneath the roller to take a step backward.

(6) If you’re running low on toppings, rice, or sake, you can order more by clicking the phone. You can order supplies in advance, so it’s worth it to keep an eye on your stock.

(7) Pay attention to your customer’s moods. Don’t take too long to serve them, or they’ll get upset and leave. Serving sake or performing a knife trick can help to improve their patience, but only for a short while.

(8) You can earn combos for making orders without referring to the recipe book. Talk about a challenge!

(9) After serving the customer, you must wait for him to finish eating. This takes a few seconds.

(10) Once he’s finished, he will automatically pay and leave. Your next job is to gather up all of the plates to clean the table for the next customer. Simply click a plate to remove it. You can earn a plate combo for clearing plates in a chain. 6 Plates = x6 (x1 for each after 2).

(11) At the bottom of the screen, you’ll see how much cash you’ve earned in Yen. You can use this cash to order more ingredients.

(12) If you create an item that isn’t on the menu, it turns into a brown blob (complete with eyes and a face). This isn’t edible, of course…and brown blobs clog up space on the conveyor belt.

(13) Your reputation is displayed as a bar on the top left corner, next to the golden star. This improves as you upgrade your store, and your service improves. Taking reservations increases this as well, but failing to deliver can hurt your reputation score.

(14) Accepting reservations will earn you extra money and reputation points. Once accepted, drag the reservation signs to seats. You’ll earn more if you can manage to sit the parties next to each other.

(15) Sometimes you’ll be given and order "to go." You don’t have to accept these, but they can make you quick extra money. The dishes you make are then applied to the take out order.

(16) Every day, you will be given a set of goals. If you reach them, you’ll be able to advance to the next day.

(17) After your first day, you’ll be given the chance to buy special upgrades with your surplus yen. Even if you fail a level, your money carries over, so you can upgrade your equipment and have a better chance on your next turn. As you move up, you lose most of your upgrades, and some of your ingredients and sushi recipes.

RESTAURANT SPECIALS

Restaurant specials appear on the last day of each restaurant. Only one or two customers will order them, so you may need to use your recipe book.

UPGRADES

A few upgrades only become available once you’ve purchased the basic upgrade, such as the Internet Computer, which allows you to order all 9 toppings at once, or the Chef’s Knife, which allows better knife tricks, or the Rust Free Steel Conveyor Belt, which is the fastest conveyor. Most of the upgrades are available at the beginning of the game, though, as long as you can afford them.
