Enjoyed this game as well as the first one. Same type of play, however, some puzzles you keep playing until you get it right. I had trouble with lab samples and the laundry, but stayed with it until I completed the scene. You have the option to skip puzzles, but I stuck with a puzzle until solved. A good story and graphics were also very good. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I finally got around to playing this one! The gameplay was pretty fun, and the story was great, but the cut scenes were sl-o-o-o-o-ow - so slow, in fact that all of the tension that should have been built up by the story was lost at the beginning of each new investigation. In most games I'd have just skipped through the dialog, but after having played (and enjoyed) the first WMC game mainly because of the story I really wanted to know what happened! I think a game that relies so heavily on storyline and dialogue ought to pay more attention to how it's presented. Not only was it obnoxiously slow, but it started without warning immediately after the new scene was loaded... which usually found me in the bathroom or getting a snack :D Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I know I'm in the minority around here, but I really hate this game and it's predecessor. I found the game laughably easy. The part in the lab was just tedious and annoying. There was no challenge in any part of it, and I did stop playing it because it was so annoyingly easy. I was really looking forward to giving these games a try after reading the outstanding reviews, but I gotta say that the actual play was not worth the time or the BFG credit I used (this game is the reason I will not use my credits based on reviews rather than my own opinion of the trial). The quality is outstanding, however. I didn't have any glitches and the graphics were definitely nice. It was just a boring overall game in my opinion. I look for challenges, and this one did not offer one for me. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I'd never played a game quite like this before. I think it's a little too real for me, although the gameplay is good and challenging. To be examining dead bodies that look that real I can get from TV or movies. I come to pc games to escape all that. I bought it, but am unlikely to finish it. I'm never in the right headspace to play it. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I too didn't like this installment as much as the first one, although appreciated that they no longer put you through pointless "analysis" of forensic samples. There are still a few pointless puzzles, but they aren't repeated in every investigation. Decent plot until the very end when, like most casual games, this one took a turn for the ridiculous, abrupt ending. I don't play these things for plot anymore, as they are ALL far fetched and contrived. But I did enjoy many of the puzzles, although would have appreciated more strictly HO screens. At least this game doesn't torture and punish the gamer by placing microscopic items in the blackest part of your screen! Give this one a B-. As an aside, and as I mentioned in the forums, I run Vista and had a terrible time with balky cursor. Game runs in Slo-Mo on Vista - at least on mine. Be prepared! Good game, but it seemed shorter than the first one. That is my biggest complaint. Many of the puzzles seemed new and different, although some were like busywork. The art is great. I wish they had voice overs in this game though. The story kept me guessing until the end. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

Very nice game. I am a big fan of the WMC series in general so this was another great addition to the series. This wasn't as good as the first one because there were fewer hidden object screens and the cinematics looked pretty awful, but they did improve a lot of aspects (great variety in activities, same beautiful artwork, great work on a more cinematic experience) and I think the game deserves 4 stars for that. I can't wait for the next WMC game to come out! Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I, too, was disappointed in this game. The characters look too much like comic book characters, and I skipped most of the mini-games. There also wasn't enough hidden object gameplay. As others have said, the cutscenes crawled by and you couldn't speed them up. And Claire, the ME's, part was cut way too far back. I also have the first game in this series, Death in Scarlet, and it is way better than this edition. I've played that game several times, but I deleted A Darker Shade of Gray after finishing it. Hope the team comes up with something more like "Scarlet" for its next game. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

Also slightly disappointed. The cut scenes are way too long and the gameplay really easy. They are no real HO parts as in the first one. Some puzzles were clever and it is nice to have a change but everything was too mapped to be really challenging. A great potential but just a nice game. Hmm.., How to review this game, I really liked parts of it, fantastic graphics, and a story line that draws you in, nice point and click parts, that being said..., way, way to short!!! and the time lags between the characters conversations, way to long and so slow, and when click after ready the talk balloons you can't move on, you either have to skip the whole dialogue or grin and bear it! So at this point it was easy to get bored. Happy I could play on Unlimited, wouldn't have been if I had paid full price for 2 hours of game play Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

While I don't think this sequel is as good as the original, it is still a pretty good game. I was annoyed that I could not click through the scenes at the beginning of each investigation. I can only assume the pacing is slow for those who don't read as fast as some. You should be able to click through this at your own pace. I don't have the patience, so I skipped this part. Also, this WMC was much easier than the first one, nearly everything was easily found. It was a nice touch to allow the hints to carry forward this time. I'm a huge JP fan and read all his books, so I may be biased. I thought this was nicely done and the story is well done, even though a bit too easy for some tastes. I agree with most people...too short and too easy. Sad. It was a disappointment. I had such hugely high hopes, because Death in Scarlet was so great. I'm really happy I waited for it to come to Shockwave. With the first one, I was really into trying to solve the mystery...this one I didn't care as much. The story wasn't as intriguing or as in depth. The graphics looked like there were some good artists working on this and some not so good and it didn't have continuity. Mixed the good with bad, so it just was jarring (I'm talking about the cartoon parts). One thing that was a problem was the sparklies indicating where to find everything...too easy and made it boring. They should have had hints for what we needed to find - with words, instead. More thinking that way. I still gave 3 stars, because I would have liked it more, if I didn't know what a step down it was...so I'm trying to be fair. Please, please do another more like the first one!!!! Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

This installment was a horrible disappointment, in my opinion. The storyline wasn't as engaging as the first one, the "puzzles" were simplistic and tedious, and the graphics were less impressive than I expected. I feel like at least half my play time was spent watching the conversation scenes, as you couldn't speed them up, and they seemed to be timed so a three year old would be able to read them. Wasted time. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I really didn't like this. WAY too easy. The little flickers highlight everything you're supposed to do. And too much talking. I also found the ending abrupt. I used a BFG credit for it and feel like it was a waste. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I don't understand why this game is so popular. Everything is done for you. It is like playing with a walkthrough in front of you. There were no challenges, and the cut scenes were too long, boring, and pointless, and the puzzles, if you want to call them, could have been solved by a 10-year old. After reading other reviews, I was thoroughly disappointed with this game. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I thought the first WMC game was super but I was a bit disappointed by this one. I liked the plot and the wide variety of games but the storyboards must have been written for someone in remedial reading. I found the long wait at each screen with no way to click and advance very annoying. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate
