does any one have any idea how to get food once the honey has run out

You need level 2 restoration and 3 adept builders to repair the lift. Then when it rains have a villager stand on the flat part of the lift and the bucket will fill raising the villager up to get a seed. Plant the seed and it will produce fruit of 1000. You can do 3 trees. They reseed themselves also.

They don't exactly reseed themselves, but they do gradually replenish the fruit that has been picked.

Personally I miss the long lines of kiddies that formed in VV2. Also I miss the stats. Also, some of the puzzles really can't be solved without the SPOILERS at http://www.virtualvillagers.com unless most people are a lot cleverer than I am.
But VV3 is a worthy sequel and I'm enjoying it a lot.

Is there a truly steady way to get food. A way that dose not take time for reseeding? Like fishing was in the first two games.

Once you get to a certain level you will have unlimited amounts of food when you send your villagers fishing.

Hi Bittybye, Welcome!
In order to get to the point that you can fish you have to get rid of the sharks in the ocean.That means that you have to solve Puzzle number 11 in order to do so.
If you click on the tips and tricks tab on top of this page,you can look at the walthrough and it will tell you what you need to do in order to get to that point.

MargieB, Did you know that after you finish all the puzzles, and you are just letting the game play, like for some of the awards, that another building appears? I am letting my Tech points build up and hoping for a 90+ villager. So I guess that there is more to this game than meets the eye!

To tell you the truth I had to pause my game because I have other games to write for and I didn't want to miss anything until I can get back to it.So I just posted the walkthrough up to the point that I played.
The Clothing Hut was the last building I finished and I thought it was so cute that you could change the villager's clothing.
Now that you told me I can't wait to get back to the game and see if I can get the 90+ villagers. That must be so nice to see all the people filling the village.
I plan to update the guide with some more potions as soon as I get a chance. I wrote most of them down but I want to test them again.

If you don't have a Doctor, you can just drop another villager on the one that is sick(you might have to do this more than once) and they will be healed. children are also able to heal. If you check on the details page of a character and it says unhealthy, I don't think that you can fully heal that person, just the ones that are sneezing or hanging around the hospital.

Have you hit the space bar? the other way is to go into options and put on the game speed you want to play , other than that I'm not sure how else to unpause it.

I am new to this cite and don't know where to ask a question. so, thought I'd "reply" :) I just downloaded VV3 and my screen freezes for a short time and then starts working again. I have the other two VV games and would like to play this one too. Is anyone else having this problem?

SPOILER INCLUDED !!!! Hi. On the tips and tricks for VV3, when you list the potions it says for light and springy it's 1 rose and 2 black orchid. When I tries that it made my villager feel lonely. But when I read how to get the pink key from the cliff it says for light and springy potion use 1 cactus, 1 rose, 1 lotus. A little confusing, but I will try the second one and see if that works. Thanks for great tips.

Thanks for the tips i could not work it out otherwise. have one problem though for the shark potion i can get the red berry do i need to be at a certain level first. i can get every other one but that one. i have chosen magic if that helps.

Okay, I'm a game rookie. I killed off my first tribe because I didn't do things in an order that allowed them to have enough food while becoming whatever they needed to become.
I've started again and have an adept scientist working alone and three builders. One adept and two trainees. The house is 75% built and then I realized I should have them clear the Roster of the Dead. Now I don't know if I'll have enough food to last until they clear it.
I've planted the tree.
How do you guys play these games so fast?! I'm afraid if I put it on fast play, I'll just kill them off faster. It's so very sad, because I get attached to my people.
P.S. I am not used to this new format, it will take some getting used to.

Also, I noticed if you create a potion while there isn't any food, the potion won't work. I tried to help my starving people in the first game with one of MB's formulas and instead of making them healthier, I just made them sick. Even though I used a combo that theoretically made them healthier.

I read that you've trained three builders but I didn't see where you trained anyone for farming. It's imporatnt at the beginning to train someone to get food for the tribe.Did you plant the first fruit in the beginning of the game?
There's no specific order in which the puzzles need to be done so don't go by that.
The Roster of the Dead is a puzzle that takes a long time to complete so it's better to do it when you have a larger tribe. Personally, I did that one before I went to sleep but I had to train several villagers to keep taking the leaves off.On fast mode, they were done by the time I woke up the next morning.

Thanks Margie. I did plant a seed and train a farmer, but he's long since harvested the fruit..he did it while I was sleeping and so ate all of the fruit and left nothing to plant. But I have a clean Roster of the dead! Thanks for your tips. I was able to enjoy DCII thanks to you.

It's a nice feeling when you get back to the game and a task is completed, especially one a long as that one.
I'm assuming that you also fixed the Lift so you could plant 2 more trees. If not, you should do that as soon as you're able to.

I got through my last issue with your help and i am now stuck again. i have done the drawing for the statue but have tried to drop the cheif and also the master builders onto it but i get no results. is there something else i am missing. i have restoration level 3 and lots of master builders. -
Hi Army wife. witht he diamond it has to be raining when the time runs out on the fire. that worked for me. hope that helps. i did not do a rain dance but was lucking enough for it to be raining when the fire went out.

Hey Leesabutterfly, Which version of the game do you have? There are issues with the statue if you don't have the latest version which is 1.004. To check the version that you have go to the main menu (opening screen, where you would select the name of your tribe, options etc.)and look on the lower left side, the version number will be there. If you have the wrong version let me know and I will post the link for the patch here for you.

Hey Armywife, Welcome!
do you know if your rain dance (puzzle 5) was successful? If not, that could be the problem. You will know the weather dance was successful when all the villagers gather around the chief and the fire.You need to have 3 adept farmers and a leadership 2 along with your chief for the weather dance to work.
Once you do the rain dance the fire has to go out on its own and then you'll see a big diamond appear in the ashes. In fast mode it takes about 10 hours for the fire to go out again.
I'm trying to see if you actually see the diamond or if you've done the rain dance successfully. If you have both right then let me know and I can help you from there.

Thanks for your help, I just don't seem to get this one. I can't seem to produce enough food via the honey, it always runs out before I have a dependable second source. I've tried three times: The first time my people couldn't reach the fruit to harvest it, the second time there was only a piece of fruit every so often and the third time they planted a banana tree which produced alot of food, but since most of my third tribe is now starved off, I don't hold out much hope for their comeback.
I started a fourth tribe, and this time followed the tutorial to the letter (except I didn't make any babies) and I still don't understand how I am supposed to train enough farmers, scientists and still have the food supply to accomplish repairing the lift and learning the rain dance. I must be doing something out of order, since I keep running out of food (and I do have the chief do his/her magic food thing). Arggh and help please!

Hi Jiji, When you first arrive on the island, you will notice that there is a piece of fruit lying on the ground, just have one of the villagers pick it up and they will plant it. Meanwhile, do the thing with the Bees nest, and make sure if you have any kids, to have them get all the mushrooms that you see, The Tree takes about 4 hours to mature and bear fruit. you honey should be getting low about then, If you concentrate on building the fire, and the first hut, try to keep them away from the food and only let them collect every now an then you shouldn't run out as quickly. I usually put 2 adults on the hut and at least 1 on Research, then you have you Chief, make him/her direct work on the hut it will move more quickly, you should have completed 2 puzzles by then. But just have a baby every now and then also you really can't afford to lose a female to nursing time. As for the tech points, you must have children to pick up the collectibles, after the initial pick of any one item, any more they pick up are worth 100 tech points. But, most importantly, if you are going to leave your game for any length of time, (more than 2-3 hours), please pause it, that is the highest rated cause in deaths of VV tribe members.

Let the fire die and a diamond appears underneath ; it is too hot to be taken ; I think you have to do a weather dance and get some rain to be able to pick it up, but as the fire is over, but I didn't train for this dance ; so I tried to light up the fire...and it didn't work :/ ; by the way how do you pick up the black pearl in the clam ?

Hi ylang, you can only get the black pearl after you have completed the Statue puzzle. When that puzzle is complete, there will be a rough light blue pearl at it's base, have your chief pick it up he/she will take it to the waterfall to polish it, have the chief pick it up again and he/she will carry it to the clam and exchange it for the black pearl, then the chief will take the black pearl and place it in the door at the top of the path, if you have gotten the other two keys, the door will open and you will be able to complete the last puzzle. As to the diamond, when the fire goes out and the diamond is there you have to get villagers to get water from the waterfall, depending on how many villagers you use this has to be done until the villagers stop carrying water and start drinking from the waterfall, then it will be cool enough to pick up. Then get a Master builder to carry it up to the door at the top of the path. Be careful not to interfere with the villagers that are doing these tasks because they will drop the item and it will return to the start and you will have to start the task all over.
