I didn't know there was an age they can be to be past childbearing age- because I've had women get pregnant even when they're really old. I think she was in her late 60's or 70 or so.

I have now played VV 2 & 3 and have a few things I learned and never saw anywhere:
1) You don't have to check a new preference each time- a builder can farm, etc. Their skill level still grows in the other stuff, they just may eventually go back to their checked preference.
2) Villagers will occasionally do any preference that was once checked EVEN if its not checked now- i.e. parenting skills. I ended up once with a baby for every female from a male that I had unchecked . (I have had no "surprise babies" since never ever checking parenting skills, even from a Master Parent)
3) Kids can become adapt Doctors (half way) before 14. Just mix up stew/potion that makes everyone sick and have the kids heal.
4) Once past childbearing, Villagers can kiss over and over fast becoming Master Parents. The one that get experience is the one that "kissed" the other.
5) Your tribal chief (like all mothers) will stop ruling or helping at all until her baby is weened.
