Hi Mikumalt,Welcome to Gamezebo!
I have not played all 3 Virtual Villagers, just the last one but somebody asked that same question at another site called Gameboomers. I copied what a player named Outlast said over there for you.
"You can play them in any order. But you might want to play them from the beginning anyway just because the first game had a lot less to it then the sequels (still a great game though) and you might be disappointed if you start with one of the sequels and then play the original."
Hope this was helpful to you!

They are all genius and tremendous fun. Must read web tips for each. Don't agree that original is less challenging: they all share 1 feature: u must wait and wait to get tech pts; then wait and wait to solve puzzles. If Gamezebo provides free food and drink, maybe we can wait here? Send a Kudo Post a Reply

Well, I've played all three, and enjoyed them all. They are stand alone games. However the story links in the sense that the mysteries of the island are slowly revealed, as the original tribe moves deeper into the island. I'd probably recommend starting with 1, so you get that sense of time progression. Also, some things are added later (there's no collectable hunting in VVI, for example) and you might find you miss them. But the puzzles are all unique and each game is worth playing. Each of the series is unique. All of them require you to solve mysteries. Of course, VV1: A New Home was the first; the second and third of the series included requests from the fans. Over on LDW's site you can find forums for help, requests and everything under the sun regarding LDW's games. I started with the first and progressed through the series in order. I still have the villages from my first games on my other computer and still check in with them now and then. If I were you, I would use the hour trial to see if you want to purchase. Question to those who've played all three.

Hello all. I was just wondering if it's recommended to play the other two prior to this one, as in they add to the story or are linked together by something other than just title/general game play. Or if each could be considered a stand alone game. Thanks to anyone who responds with some info. Send a Kudo Post a Reply
