Not so much a complaint, but I'm just disappointed with this game as this company has set such a high standard with their previous games.
My problem with it is that there is practically nothing to do in the house, very little gameplay. Its just boring.
This should be a screensaver not a game.

I would say it's called "Families" because you will not achieve all of what is possible in the game with a single family. Far from it!! It will take several generations, each generation passing on the house to one of their children.
I may have a few complaints about the game, but I'll wait until I've played a little longer to voice them. I'm finding that things that seriously bugged me are actually part of the "challenge" of the game (although the challenge is not great, it's a very casual game). For instance, there has been complaining about the family members being exhausted all the time. I managed to make things more manageable in one day, but two days later and I'm still discovering things about balancing work, rest, praising etc. in order to achieve my idea of the optimal behaviour... But adjustments will take place over a period of days sometimes, and results may not be immediate. Someone has to shift its mind frame to the long term to appreciate this game.
There are other things that bugged me at first, like the day-night cycle. People won't be working at 1 am. It also seems it's better to stop playing at 10pm to let them sleep!! (at least at the early stage of the game, maybe I will find out how to further enhance their stamina). I'm used to a much more involved and intense gaming experience, so I didn't like that at all! But I decided to embrace the vibe and pace of this game and will see how I like it in the end.
It's really "Little people living in your computer"! Meaning Virtual Families is more like a sophisticated (and smart) pet simulation than a
strategy game. If someone bought it expecting to find a game similar to
Virtual Villagers, they will be very disappointed. I totally understand why they would have complaints. I too assumed just that and was puzzled. Maybe there's a marketing problem with the game, or more likely the developers didn't anticipate people would be expecting another VV.I'm a bit sad this game is being so unfavorably reviews on the site because I can't say it's bad. It's most probably a very good

game for people who enjoy this type of gaming. Not my favorite type of game, but I'm finding it intriguing and fascinating enough that I keep on playing. -

That's would not a bad way to describe the game, actually, although it would be a very sophisticated and witty screensaver you can actually interact with. Hope this game finds its audience.

I dont have a complaint except it seems after the first fix it is very hard to have multiple babies. i have fifteen families, several with three generations and it makes it a lot more exciting.

This game is very slow
takes centuries to earn some gold and my couple just refused to have children when is supposed they want some babies, all time are arguing because that lol, anyone knows where is the fountain missing part? Thanks in advance

The fountain part will show up in the store eventually. It will be obvious. LDW says the inventory in the store now changes every 4 hours (previously it was 8). So a bit more frequently, but unfortunately nothing to change your mind about the game being slow!

I never compared this game to the sims as they are completely different games, and in my opinion, they can not be compared. I do, however, agree with everyone else finding this game way too slow etc. The first thing I noticed in the game that really bugged me is when she was putting away the groceries... she would put them on "the other side" of the table kinda, and she would have to walk all the way around the table, over (yes, over) the chair and around to the croceries, then back around the chair this time and to the fridge. I mean, come on, putting the croceries on the side of the table that is actually a few feet away from the fridge would have made a whole lot more sense.

I am new to these types of games and I have a basic question - how do I get my couple to fix the leaking bathroom sink? I can't afford the tool box and it will be a while before I can, lol. They go to the sink and just stand there sort of asking me what to do. How do you get them to repair it?
Thanks

Send one of them out to the work shop, there is a tool box there, drag one of them onto the toolbox, and they will pick up a tool and fix the leak

I already gave it a bad review, but let me spell out a few complaints
1. No option to speed up action as in the Virtual Villagers 2x.
2. Red and green hands is appalling idea. These are not dogs to pat on the head, they are supposed to be grown up people.
3. Why is it called "Families"? As far as I could tell from the demo, there is one house with one family (doing boring things). Claustrophobic. There should be neighbors or something. Maybe a marauding gang. Other houses.
Perhaps others have more compliants to add.
