Not a bad game, with a few interesting diversions from the usual HOG gameplay. This game has a good storyline and engaging atmosphere. Pity about the repetitive sound track. The safe puzzles were good but very very easy. I found I could do them first go and very quickly. The lock picking was a good idea but a little lame and unchallenging.

The graphics are clear, and I like the idea of matching the objects in the scene, but I really got bored with far to many HOG scenes with too many duplicate objects.

I could say that this style of game has a lot of promise, and with some fine tuning, another sequel could be excellent, however the gameplay needs a lot more work to make it more interesting.

I like to give this game 3.5 stars but can't do it here so I'll rate it 3 stars then. It's a good game but nothing spectacular. The usual hidden objects scenes plus inventory collection. The story is pretty good and very easy to follow, and not boring. Graphics & artwork are rather good. But music soundtrack is uninteresting. Sound, effects & animation are average though. Gameplay is easy and the puzzles in the mini-games are too simple. It was too easy to crack the vaults. Cut scenes are ok. Conversations/dialogues are kept to absolute minimal. My game copy was a bit buggy so I had to download a different copy from another site. I know that the main character is like a 'secret agent' so she transforms her image regularly - this explained the section where I had to choose her hair colour, clothing & shoes. However, I found it unnecessary and boring. Overall, an ok game, nothing special.

I haven't finished this game yet, but i am enjoying it. There's a lot of different tasks that I haven't seen before, and the minigames are fun. I got stuck at the casino and was looking for a walk through, but Sassylassie solved my problem in her review -- many thanks.

This game had quite a bit of potential. While there's nothing terribly wrong with the game itself, I had to start over three times because of glitches and/or bugs in the programming. (The first time while I was literally two scenes from the end). Because of that (and just a poor storyline overall) I can't give this more than a two. Aside from the glitches, the gameplay and voice acting is just ok. The scens are odd and give off the idea that literally every corner of the world this woman lives in is literally crammed with junk. And it's a good thing too, because you need a lot of this useless junk (and I mean useless) to get past some pretty strange obstacles. Clearing up a clog in the sewer? Not exactly my idea of a good time. The "dressing up" part of the game didn't bother me too much, but everything else was sub-par and when you add in the shoddy quality of the game (I'm pretty shocked they released it with so many bugs) it's just not a game worth the frustration.

Good graphics, an interesting story, and the option to play easy or hard: what's not to like? Throw in the opportunity to virtually play paper dolls (something I loved as a little girl) and it's even better!

I am so glad that HOGs are getting away from just being lists of hidden objects, and Vaultcracker is no exception. The minigames were easy enough, and the need to find objects to use made for more action.

Not very good. I played it all the way through, windowed, untimed. Many things annoyed me.

Scenes are unattractive. Many have a brown or blue-gray cast for no reason, so objects aren't shown in true color. And I dislike the all caps font. The crowd scenes are impossible without a lot of hints - 'he doesn't wear green' - resort to hint - no green showing on tiny person.

Found objects disappear from the list instead of being grayed out, so often you don't know what you found. There are no labels on the inventory items. When you assemble the things to accomplish something, you don't get to use the tools - the task instantaneously executes itself.. This lack of knowing what you are doing detracts from any feeling of accomplishment and can be very confusing.

There is some sloppiness. The hint doesn't always center on the target, you have to click a little to one side or the other. Some objects mislabeled: 'bobby pins' are straight pins. Some tasks don't get cleared when completed - when I finished there were two tasks left in the list. (Get dog into doghouse, and get uniform from car).

Somewhat similar to the Taro Card games but very inferior.

As noted by others, it has some good features so it gets 3 stars.

I won't repeat all of the comments from other posters. I wanted to post this review to mention that playing with Win7, I did run into several buggy places within the game, most of them in the last chapter. There were times when the pop-up visual for the tasks would have an item in red that did not change, even when the item was found. There were other times when the travel icon wouldn't show, but if I backed out and re-entered, it would. The most frustrating bug was in the scene where you are required to fix the camera. I couldn't get one of the broken glass/mirror pieces to be accepted by the pop-up visual. I tried many solutions, but finally found that the sweet spot to drop the item was way outside the circle. If you are having this difficulty, try clicking in the areas outside of the circle. Luckily, all of the bugs were easily overcome and did not require a new download or a change of profile.

I was pleasantly surprised by this game. The storyline is interesting and the hidden object scenes are very creative and interactive. This game is not very challenging but interesting and fun. I recommend this relaxing IHOG.

I was impressed by the different and clever approaches to the standard HO game, It was a fun game, fairly easy, but I like a relaxing game now and then. Trouble is, it didn't hold up all the way to the end. It got boring with its repetition, and the ending was cheesy. Wasn't the object to find the kidnapped kid? That got a brief mention. There are some really good, creative ideas and puzzles in this game, that may show up and expand in future games from this developer. The idea of changing the burglars clothing was kind of fun. and then seeing her in your pick was cute. It wasn't a bad game, it just didn't quite measure up all the way to the end. The beginning was the best part, so play the demo.

Good HOG game with some rather easy puzzles. I like the game and the story line was great. Actually the storyline deserved 5 stars, the game complexity (or should I say lack of) made me give it 4 starts and not 5. Graphics and music were both excellent, the game play was repetitive and got old quickly, the game play never evolved, it peaked early on. Worth a play, but don't expect a climatic finish, at least as far as game play is involved. Great effort by Gogi - love their stuff!
