Gems on Island

After going level by level on the html scripts for the game, I have found the amount of gems on each level. (L=Level)

L 1  =  7

L 2  = 21

L 3  = 14

L 4  = 21

L 5  = 21

L 6  = 14

L 7  = 12

L 8  =21

L 9  = 21

L 10 = 21

L 11 = 6

L 12 = 21

L 13 = 14

L 14 = 13

L 15 = 12

L 16 = 21

L 17 = 17

L 18 = 21

L 19 = 12

TOTAL GEMS  =  310

On the levels with 21 there is 3 of each color.  I hope this helps.

You can alter the items in the game like this:

Open your C: drive (or click explore)
Scroll through until you come to My Games - explore
Find Totem Tribe - explore
Find data (file folder) - explore
Find texture - explore
Find game - explore
Find item - then search for whichever item or items you wish to change.  First, right click the item, select copy, and paste that copy onto your desktop or a clipboard (so you'll be able to put it back the way it was later if you want to).  After you've copied and pasted the item, go back and click the original again, only this time select "open with" and open it with paint.  Then you can change the color and/or size.

And yes, I did this for many of the items in this game, not being much of a fan of hidden objects, but still wanting to play the game ;)

I tried to resize them using Paint, but in the game they are the same diameter as before.

My main problem is finding the last few, which I am guessing are on the islands, I didn't have scouts available to swim around and see what lays beyond what the main characters can go to.

Is there a way to get rid of the darked out areas, by changing some HTML?

That's interesting, I found a different number of gems. I have found 3 gems of each colour on each level, giving 21 gems per level. I am missing a few still, though, still working on that with the spray painting trick, but so far I have found 21 gems on levels 1-6, 8, 9, 9a, 12, 15, 17a, 18 and 19. I am now working on the assumption there's 3 gems of each colour on each level.

You should be able to find the gems even on the islands without scouts to swim around, like on the lonely iceberg (9a). Pretty much all of the gems there were in small islands off the coast, which you can find by walking your characters around the island as close to the water's edge as possible. On level 17a (lost temple) you have to go back to level 17 (Island of Worship), note the colours of the flames around the idol temples left to right, then go back to 17a and enter those colours into the lights around the lake. Then you get 3 chests with 7 gems each.

You are miss imformed on the gems. I know for a fact there are 21 gems on each island except for vacano there are only 20

u get the air tanks on shark archipelago and u do have to swimm to get some of the gems. for example on the very first island there is an island on the upper right that u swim to, it has all 21 gems on it.... go back to these islands when u can swimm   monkey, tetala, beetle.

OMG!!!  I would never have figured that one out, Thank you, thank you, thank you, now my Rainbow road is at 96% now if I can just find the other missing ones I will be set

I got the information on each level directly from the programming codes.  It shows how many gems are assigned to each Island per level.

I am not misinformed, my information comes straight from the HTML.

I think you may have overlooked some info in the HTML codes, then, because that's also where I found my info. Like Akozak898 said too, there's definitely 21 gems on each island, except volcano island. When you went into the HTML files, you may have overlooked the gems that were inside the chests?
