Time to tee up once again

The super-exciting news is that Super Stickman Golf 2 is in development and scheduled to come out later this year.

The physics-based Super Stickman Golf is a popular mobile game, so it should come as no surprise that a sequel is being made for release later this year. The creatively-named Super Stickman Golf 2 will feature everything that made the original a hit, plus a pile of new courses, power-ups, hazards, achievements and more.

Even better, two new play modes are being added to the game. Puzzle Mode will serve up “scenario-based puzzle holes” with a brand new set of unique rewards, while “asynchronous multiplayer,” which is easily the most interesting new feature, will let players try to outdo one another on the greens at their own pace, in a turn-based battle to the cup.

Visually, Super Stickman Golf 2 looks pretty much the same as the original – why mess with success? – but the team at Noodlecake is looking to mix things up a bit with the theme song, and they’re asking for help from fans by way of a little contest. Just download the musical assets from noodlecake.com, then remix or cover the original theme in whatever way you like and send it back to the developers. The best submissions will be linked on the Super Stickman Golf website, and one of them might even be chosen as the theme for the new game.

There’s no word yet on a release date aside from “later this year,” but in the meantime, those who haven’t sampled the pleasures of the original may, for a limited time, do so for free on both iOS and Android devices. It’s a lot of fun, if a bit frustrating at times, and if Super Stickman Golf 2 can duplicate that experience, it should be another big hit.
