I don't normally pay full price for a game but this one was worth it. It is a near perfect HO/Adventure mash up that has everything - Inventive mini-games, fun HO play, silly but involving story, great art. Plus, the option to adjust for a wide-screen monitor which is nice since so few games do that and the stretched out look gets old quick.
The hidden objects are normal sized, cleverly hidden without cheating. Searching for groups of items (chess pieces, fruit, jewelry, etc) is a bit more relaxing than constantly checking a list.
In general, the inventory puzzles are a bit too simple but they break up the game nicely and keep things from getting repetitive. Not very much pixel hunting either. Logic works.
The mini-games run the gamut from simple to serious with some new twists.
It's a long game, too. Such a relief after months of 2-4 hour games. I used as few hints as possible and got a terrific 8-9 hours of play and I know I'll be going back to it.
If there are any flaws, it's the sound track which gets dull and doesn't quite match the spirit of the story. Also, the objects are a bit finicky, you need to be very careful when placing things. Give this Review a KudosReport as Inappropriate
