Game Introduction - Shiver: Poltergeist

Welcome to the Shiver: Poltergeist walkthrough on Gamezebo. Shiver: Poltergeist is a Hidden Object Game played on the PC created by Artogon. This walkthrough includes tips and tricks, helpful hints and a strategy guide on how to complete Shiver: Poltergeist.

General Tips

This hidden object game requires visiting several locations and using inventory items to advance play.

  • Play is mostly linear although there are some options for the order in which to explore locations.

  • Begin play by selecting a mode compatible to your style of play. The mode can be changed at any time through the Options menu.

  • Hidden object scenes contain items listed in yellow lettering. These items require an extra step to find.

  • Always move the cursor around a scene. Watch the cursor to see if it changes into a hand or an eye to indicate interact areas.

Walkthrough Tips

  • CAPITALIZED inventory items are meant to make it easier to find where this guide may deviate from your own play. Inventory items are highlighted in blue with a white border in the screenshots.

  • If you don't have an item referenced in this guide, click and hold the "Ctrl" key and then press the "F" key. This opens a Find area in your web browser. Type in the name of the object as it appears in this guide to find where else it's referenced.

  • To minimize back and forth moves, most available inventory items in a scene are picked up when first encountered.

Chapter 1: The Inheritance

 Poltergeist

  • Examine the contents of the suitcase (A).

  • The Diary (B) is added as a reference tool. Review it for strategy hints, tasks and other helpful information.

  • Take the PAPERS.

  • Go up the stairs (C).

  • Give the PAPERS to the butler (D).

  • Go forward to the fountain area.

  • Take the path on the left side of the mansion.

 Poltergeist

  • Have a conversation with the butler (A).

  • Go up the steps (B) to the porch.

  • Zoom in on the pipes (C). Take the VALVE.

  • Return to the fountain.

 Poltergeist

  • Inspect the base of the fountain (A).

  • Place the VALVE on the spigot. Turn to drain the water.

  • Pick up the MANOR KEY.

  • Approach the front door (B).

  • Insert the MANOR KEY in the door.

Chapter 2: The Mansion

 Poltergeist

  • Pick up the CARPET in the entryway.

  • Note the door to the cloakroom is locked.

  • Go forward to the main hall.

  • Pick up the paper for the diary.

  • Hang the portrait in the empty space on the wall (A).

  • Use the CARPET to put out the fire (B).

  • Pick up the TORN PORTRAIT piece from the table (C).

  • Go up the stairs (D).

Landing

  • Read the note (A).

  • Enter the right hallway (B).

  • Play the hidden object scene in the hallway.

  • Use the cigar cutter to cut the cigar.

  • Put the coin in the purse. Take the coin-filled purse.

  • Find the rest of the listed objects.

  • The Chain goes to inventory as a NECKLACE CHAIN.

  • Go forward to the end of the hall.

  • Inspect the lighthouse replica (A). Take the DISCHARGED FLASHLIGHT.

  • Go through the left door (B) to the foyer.

Foyer

  • Knock over the vase (C). Move the shard around to uncover the CLOAKROOM KEY.

  • Return to the entryway.

Entryway

  • Use the CLOAKROOM KEY to unlock the door.

Cloakroom

  • Look closer at the umbrella stand (A). Take the GLOVES.

  • Play the hidden object scene (B).

 Poltergeist

  • Place the seal on the envelope. Take the Sealed letter.

  • Unlock the padlock with the key. Take the Nut.

  • Find the rest of the listed objects.

  • The VACUUM TUBE goes to inventory.

  • Go back to the second floor landing.

  • Go forward to the office.

 Poltergeist

Office

  • Zoom in on the radio on the back shelf (A).

  • Insert the VACUUM TUBE.

  • Look closer at the fallen radio (B). Take the BATTERY.

  • The DISCHARGED FLASHLIGHT and BATTERY combine to form a flashlight tool (C) permanently available on the game screen.

  • Inspect the panel (D). Press the button to open a door.

 Poltergeist

Secret Room

  • Take the BROKEN SABER (A) from the scabbard.

  • Look closer at the table (B). Pick up the clipping. Take the MATCHBOX that was under the clipping.

  • Examine the fireplace (C). Attempt to take the box.

  • Back out of the secret room and office to the landing.

  • Enter the right hallway and the first door on the right.

 Poltergeist

Bathroom

  • Turn on the flashlight (A) and find the lantern (B).

  • Use the MATCHBOX to light the lantern.

  • Zoom in on the bathtub (C). Pull the plug to drain the tub and reveal a hidden object scene.

 Poltergeist

  • Put the Jolly Roger on the ship. Take the Pirate ship.

  • Dip the pink stick in the bubble solution. Pop the Soap Bubble.

  • Put the fly on the spider web. Take the Spider.

  • Find the rest of the listed objects.

  • The LURE goes to inventory.

  • Exit the bathroom. Go to the end of the hallway.

  • Use the BROKEN SABER to pry off the boards securing the door on the right.

Boy's Room

  • Play the hidden object scene.

  • Place the gazelle block between the lion and grass blocks to complete the Food chain.

  • Insert the sail on the boat. Take the Sailboat.

  • Find the rest of the listed objects.

  • The MAGNET goes to inventory.

 Poltergeist

  • Examine the aquarium (A).

  • Pick up the INCOMPLETE FISHING ROD. It automatically combines with the LURE. A FISHING ROD goes to inventory.

  • Go through the door (B) to the balcony.

  • Use the FISHING ROD to retrieve the ROPE LADDER (C).

  • Attach the ladder to the two rope ends (D).

  • Descend the ladder.

  • Go forward to the tower.

Tower Entrance

  • Place the metal hooked bar in the door grating.

  • Pick up the BATHTUB LEG that was uncovered.

  • Return to the Boy's room.

  • Go across the hall to the foyer.

  • Inspect the mirror (A).

  • Use the BATHTUB LEG to shatter the glass.

  • Take the PANEL PIECE.

  • Go down the hallway to the bathroom.

  • Attach the BATHTUB LEG to the tub.

  • Take the JACK.

  • Go downstairs to the main hall.

Main Hall

  • Peer into the hole in the floor (A).

  • Use the MAGNET to retrieve the HAIRPIN.

  • Continue forward to the entryway.

  • Enter the cloakroom.

Cloakroom

  • Use the HAIRPIN to pick the lock on the cabinet (B).

  • Examine the coats in the cabinet. Take the ELECTRICAL tape from the pocket (C).

  • Go back upstairs.

  • Go straight into the office.

Office

  • Zoom in on the desktop (A).

  • Repair the wiring with the ELECTRICAL TAPE.

  • Pick up the clipping.

  • Take the KEY hidden in the lampshade.

  • Examine the center desk drawer (B).

  • Insert the KEY in the lock.

  • Take the FRAME and SCREWDRIVER.

 Poltergeist

  • Inspect the panel (A).

  • Add the PANEL PIECE to start a puzzle.

  • Swap the pieces to form the picture shown above.

  • Look in the compartment (A).

  • Take the camera. It joins the flashlight for use in the game.

  • Look again in the compartment (B).

  • Take the MARBLE.

  • Pick up the document from the floor.

  • Exit the office.

  • Go down to the end of the hallway.

  • Go left into the foyer.

Foyer

  • Look at the hinge on the glass door.

  • Use the SCREWDRIVER to remove the SCREW.

  • Enter the bedroom.

  • Inspect the portrait on the bed (A).

  • Take the note.

  • Put the TORN PORTRAIT piece in the vacant spot.

  • Look closer at the fallen cabinet (B).

  • Take the paper.

  • Pick up the PUZZLE BOX on the bed. Note that the box has an eye on the frame in inventory. An eye indicates that the item is itself an interactive area that needs an additional part

  • Exit the bedroom.

  • Cross the hall to the Boy's room. Go out the window.

  • Pick up the piece of paper at the foot of the ladder.

  • Go toward the tower.

Tower Entrance

  • Place the JACK under the boulder.

  • Click the handle to leverage the boulder over the cliff, which also pull off the door grate.

  • Enter the library.

  • Look closer at the top right door (A). Take the FIRE EXTINGUISHER.

  • Examine the desk (B). Take the paper.

  • Look again at the desk (C). Take the STENCIL that was under the paper. The STENCIL and FRAME combine to add a SLIDE in inventory. Look closer at the top right door (A). Take the FIRE EXTINGUISHER.

  • Examine the desk (B). Take the paper.

  • Look again at the desk (C). Take the STENCIL that was under the paper. The STENCIL and FRAME combine to add a SLIDE in inventory.

  • Play the hidden object scene (D).

  • Give the carrot to the rabbit to make it happy.

  • Use the laces on the boot.

  • Find the rest of the listed objects.

  • The WIND-UP KEY goes to inventory.

  • Return to the Boy's room.

Boy's Room

  • Zoom in on the train (A).

  • Insert the SCREW in the wheel. Affix the wheel with the SCREWDRIVER.

  • Use the WIND-UP KEY to set the train running. It talks two laps around the track.

  • Take the CARTRIDGE the train pushes out of the tunnel (B). Pick up the HUNTING RIFLE lying next to the tracks. Both items combine as a LOADED RIFLE in inventory.

  • Inspect the projector (C). Light the wick with the MATCHBOX. Insert the SLIDE. The code projected on the wall is added to the diary.

  • Cross the hall to the foyer.

  • Use the LOADED RIFLE to blow the door open.

  • The empty HUNTING RIFLE returns to inventory.

Girl's Room

  • Examine the bed (A).

  • Turn down the blanket. Take the note.

  • Pick up the FIGURINE the note was covering.

  • Look at the portrait (B).

  • Play the hidden object scene by the dresser (C).

 Poltergeist

  • Put the apples in the basket. Pick up the Apple basket.

  • Attach the flower to the hat for a floral hat.

  • Find the rest of the listed objects.

  • The JEWEL BOX goes to inventory with an eye frame.

 Poltergeist

  • Refer to the diary for the code from the projector.

  • Match the symbols with the numbers on the holes to determine the order.

  • Take the JEWEL BOX from inventory. Click the symbols in the order indicated.

  • Take the BEADS from the open jewel box.

  • Go back down the hallway to the landing. Enter the office. Go through to the secret room.

 Poltergeist

Secret Room

  • Use the FIRE EXTINGUISHER to put out the flames in the fireplace (A). Take the ORIENTAL BOX from the ashes with the GLOVES.

  • Click the eye on the inventory frame for the ORIENTAL BOX to expand it (B). Place the FIGURINE in the empty slot (C). Take the AMULET from the box (D).

  • The NECKLACE CHAIN, BEADS and AMULET combine to form a NECKLACE.

  • Drape the NECKLACE on the statue (E). Pick up the HOUR HAND.

  • Go downstairs to the main hall.

Main Hall

  • Zoom in on the clock (A).

  • Attach the HOUR HAND.

  • The camera (B) is flashing and moving indicating that this would be a great time to take a picture. The photo shows the time at which the clock should be set.

  • Position the hands to 12:10. Take the PUZZLE PIECE from the owl (C).

  • Open the PUZZLE BOX in inventory. Add the PUZZLE PIECE to start a puzzle (D).

  • The goal is to place the shapes to form a pattern.

  • A good strategy is to match the pieces with the circles on the outside. From there match patterns and colors. The pieces do not lock into place when correcting positioned.

  • Solution:

  • Take the letter and MARBLE from the open box.

Chapter 3: The Stables

 Poltergeist

Library

  • Zoom in on the double doors at the top of the staircase (A).

  • The camera gets agitated. Click the camera (B) to get a snapshot of how to open the door.

  • Place the two MARBLES in the snake's mouths as shown.

Hall of Mirrors

  • Attempt to pick up the necklace on the floor.

Fountain

  • Awaken to find that someone (or something) has picked your inventory pocket. The MATCHBOX and HUNTING RIFLE are gone.

  • Follow the poltergeist down the path to the left.

Left Side Yard

  • Inspect the burning brush (A).

  • Pick up the BASIN.

  • Go back to the pier (down three times).

  • Dip the BASIN in the water (A). Take the BASIN OF WATER.

Left Side Yard

  • Throw the BASIN OF WATER on the flames (B).

  • Remove the burned brush and start down the path.

Side Yard Path

  • Note the camera movement.

  • Take a photo of the path. The glowing area (A) shows in the photo only.

  • Continue to the end of the path.

  • Pick up the SHAFT that falls to the ground in front of the double gates.

  • Approach the truck (A).

  • Look inside the cab. Take the diary page and BOLT CUTTERS.

  • Return to the double gates.

 Poltergeist

Stable Yard

  • Zoom in on the bicycle (A). Open the pouch and take the OIL CAN. Take the diary page.

  • Examine the hay bale (B). Dig through the hay to find the CRANK SHAFT.

  • Look closer at the illuminated window (C). Use the CRANKSHAFT to break the glass.

Groomsman's Room

  • Play the hidden object scene.

  • Place the candle in the holder. Take the candlestick with candle.

  • Find the rest of the listed objects.

  • The LIGHTER goes to inventory.

 Poltergeist

  • Look in the holder below the mirror (A). Take the DULL BLADE.

  • Inspect the barrel (B). Use the BOLT CUTTERS to get the FISHING LINE.

  • Examine the barred door (C). Remove the NAILS with the BOLT CUTTERS.

Barn

  • Look inside the far stall (A). Take the HAMMER.

  • Inspect the feed trough (B). Fill the CAN OF OATS and uncover a CORKED BOTTLE.

  • Exit the building

Carriage House

  • Play the hidden object scene.

  • Put the feather in the bottle of ink (yellow) to get an inkstand.

  • Drag the magnet to the hay to find a needle in a haystack.

  • Find the rest of the listed objects.

  • The HANDLE goes to inventory.

Blacksmith's Forge

  • Sharpen the DULL BLADE on the grindstone. Take the BLADE.

  • Look at the anvil (B). Insert the pin in the hole in the shears. Use the HAMMER to mend the SHEARS.

  • Take the TONGS out of the water trough (C).

 Poltergeist

Carriage House

  • Pick up the BELLOWS (A).

  • Look inside the carriage (B). Pick up the LANTERN. Use the BLADE to cut the seat and get a patch of LEATHER.

Groomsman's Room

  • Attach the HANDLE to the cabinet door.

  • Take the corkscrew to uncork the bottle. A CORK and BOTTLE are returned to inventory.

  • Return to the path and head back to the mansion.

  • Stop at the bushes that glowed in the photo.

Side Yard Path

  • Examine the bushes (A).

  • Use the SHEARS to cut remove them. Discover a hidden path.

Lightening Tree

  • Pick up the NOTE by the side of the path (A).

  • Zoom in on the bird feeder (B). Pick up the IGNITION KEY.

  • Fill the feeder from the CAN OF OATS to attract the carrier pigeon.

  • Place the NOTE on the pigeon's leg (yellow). Pick up the NEEDLE that falls out.

  • The NEEDLE and FISHING LINE combine for a NEEDLE AND THREAD in inventory.

 Poltergeist

  • Look at the scarred area in the tree bark (A).

  • Take a photo of the area.

  • Zoom in on the waterfall (B). Take the STRANGE PLATE.

  • Return to the truck.

 Poltergeist

Truck

  • Put the IGNITION KEY in the starter (A).

  • Insert the CRANK STARTER in the front grill (B). Hold the left mouse button down on the starter. Rotate the starter with the mouse until the truck starts.

  • Pick up the MIRROR (C) after the truck backs out.

Chapter 4: The Estate Grounds

 Poltergeist

The Statue

  • Pick up the HOLE RIDDLED BARREL on the bench to the left of the statue (A).

  • Click the eye on the inventory frame. Insert the CORK to mend the BARREL (B).

  • Go right toward the lake.

Path to Lake

  • Stop and pick up the BUCKET OF COAL (A).

  • Continue to the end of the path.

  • Inspect the burning leaves (B). Take the IRON bar.

  • Return to the statue.

  • Take the path to the greenhouse.

  • Pick up the diary page on the path outside the greenhouse.

Greenhouse

  • Play the hidden object scene.

 Poltergeist

  • Place the claw on the hat (yellow). Take the hat with claw.

  • Put the egg in the nest (pink). Take the nest with egg.

  • Add the lens to repair the glasses (aqua).

  • Find the rest of the listed objects.

  • The GARDEN STAKES combine with the NAILS to form BOLTS.

 Poltergeist

  • Zoom in on the water tap (A).

  • Pick up the SCOOP.

  • Use the BLADE to cut off the HOSE.

  • Return to the stables.

Carriage House

  • Inspect the box on the back of the carriage (A).

  • Insert the STRANGE PLATE in the slot to open the box.

  • Take the BROKEN CROSSBOW from the box.

  • Go into the blacksmith's forge.

 Poltergeist

Blacksmith's Forge

  • Pour the BUCKET OF COAL in the furnace. Use the LIGHTER to start the fire (A).

  • Click the BELLOWS in inventory (B). Use the NEEDLE AND THREAD to attach the LEATHER patch to the bellows.

  • Use the BELLOWS to stoke the fire.

  • Put the IRON bar in the flames.

  • Retrieve the hot bar with the TONGS and place it on the anvil.

 Poltergeist

  • Pound the bar several times with the HAMMER to bend it into a bow shape.

  • Dip the hot BOW into the water trough with the TONGS.

  • The cooled BOW combines with the BROKEN CROSSBOW and BOLTS to form a CROSSBOW.

  • Return to the path. Go down and take a left in the bushes to get to the lightening tree.

  • Use the SCOOP to uncover a container in the loose dirt at the base of the tree.

  • Take the diary page.

  • Get the KEY HALF.

  • Return to the top of the path. Go to the statue and head right to the lake.

Chapter 5: The Lake

 Poltergeist

Path to Lake

  • Place the CROSSBOW on the suspended barrel to open a puzzle.
  • The goal is to shoot enough arrows into the barrel to drain it and lower the bridge.
  • The target on the crossbow moves around the screen. Wait until the crosshairs are on the barrel to left-click your mouse (A). It takes about three shots to complete this puzzle.
  • Cross the bridge.

Boathouse Exterior

 Poltergeist

  • Place the receiver on the base (yellow) for a complete phone.
  • Take the knife and cut the rope to drop the anchor (pink).
  • Find the rest of the listed objects.
  • The WRENCH goes to inventory.

Boathouse

  • Look at the top of the barrel (A). Take the HOOK. It combines with the SHAFT to form a BOATHOOK.
  • Insert the HOSE in the barrel (B). Put the BOTTLE at the base to fill it. The BOTTLE OF KEROSENE goes to inventory.
  • Look at the crate (C). Use the BOLT CUTTERS to remove the WIRE.

 Poltergeist

  • Open the box (A) and take the WICK.
  • Take the LANTERN (2 of 4).
  • Return to the bridge.

 Poltergeist

Lake Path Bridge

  • Use the BOATHOOK to retrieve the LANTERN (3 of 4) from the bridge (A).
  • Return to the stables

Stable Yard

  • Zoom in on the bicycle (B).
  • Use the WRENCH to remove the CHAIN.
  • Return to the boathouse.

 Poltergeist

Boathouse

  • Zoom in on the boat.
  • Attach the BARREL with the WIRE (A).
  • Use the OIL CAN on the drive mechanism (B) and attach the CHAIN.
  • Click the boat to reach the gazebo on the island.

 Poltergeist

Gazebo

  • Pick up the diary page (A).
  • Take the second KEY HALF from under the page. The two halves combine to form a KEY.
  • Pick up the LANTERN (4 of 4).
  • Return to the boathouse and proceed up the path and past the statue to the greenhouse.

Greenhouse

  • Exit through the back door.

 Poltergeist

  • Pick up the diary page on the steps.
  • Zoom in on the angel (A).
  • Add the MIRROR, BOTTLE OF KEROSENE and WICK to the lantern. Use the LIGHTER to light the lantern and open a puzzle.
  • The goal is to place the four lanterns on the posts so the weight lowers the green line on each post to ground level.
  • Each lantern has a different weight. Swap them to get the correct result.
  • Click the camera to see the result of the puzzle.
  • Solution:

 Poltergeist

  • Once correctly placed the numbers and phases of the moon light up.
  • The information (A) is saved in the diary.
  • Return to the statue where the two paths merge.

 Poltergeist

Statue

  • Zoom in on the base of the statue.
  • Insert the KEY in the center of the dial.
  • Rotate each disk until the number associated with the moon phase on the outside of the alignment bar matches the clue in the diary (A).
  • Read the paper inside the compartment.
  • Take RICHARD'S RING (B).
  • Go down once toward the mansion.
  • Watch the cut scene.

Chapter 6: The Ritual

 Poltergeist

  • Pick up the diary page.
  • Inspect the fence on the right (A). Bend the spike back and forth until the STEEL ROD comes off.
  • Return to the fountain in front of the mansion.
  • Take the path to the right side.
  • Go forward twice to the shed.

 Poltergeist

Shed

  • Zoom in on the door.
  • Use the STEEL ROD to pry off the bars.

 Poltergeist

  • Look closer at the back wall by the horseshoe (A).
  • Take the BASEMENT KEY.
  • Use the STEEL ROD to pry off the CHAIN AND HOOK.
  • Go down twice to the steps to the basement.
  • Look down the steps. Use the BASEMENT KEY to unlock the door.

 Poltergeist

Basement

  • Shine the flashlight on the door on the right.
  • Take the WIRE.
  • Go through the door at the top of the stairs.

Laundry Room

  • Take the WEDDING GOWN (A).
  • Press the red button (B) to drain the sink.
  • Peer into the sink (C). Take the KEY PART.
  • Look closer at the elevator (D). Use the WIRE to snag the CARTRIDGE.
  • Play the hidden object scene on the left wall.

 Poltergeist

  • Add the beans to the coffee grinder. Take the ground coffee.
  • Find the rest of the listed objects.
  • The SAW goes to inventory.
  • Return to the shed.

 Poltergeist

Shed

  • Use the WEDDING GOWN to sop up the oil. The OILY RAG goes to inventory.
  • Open the newly discovered hatch.
  • Play the hidden object scene.

 Poltergeist

  • Use the key to open the box (aqua) to find the idol.
  • Put the wheel on the broken scooter (yellow).
  • Place the chess piece on the board to checkmate.
  • Find the rest of the listed objects.
  • The PORTRAIT (first of four) goes to inventory.
  • Return to the basement

 Poltergeist

Basement

  • Zoom in on the door on the right again (A).
  • Insert the CARTRIDGE in the lock (yellow). Cover it with the OILY RAG (pink). Light the rag with the LIGHTER to blow off the lock.

Wine Cellar

  • Look at the bottles on the back shelf (A). Move the bottles aside. Take the TIN.
  • Look closer at the well (B). Take the CRUCIBLE on the edge.
  • Drop the CHAIN WITH HOOK into the well. A BUCKET OF WATER comes back.
  • Exit the wine cellar.

 Poltergeist

Basement

  • Zoom in on the boiler (A).
  • Open the floor hatch. Pour in the BUCKET OF WATER. Close the hatch.
  • SAW off a PIPE from the bed frame (B).
  • Go forward.

Laundry Room

  • Insert the PIPE in the broken lever slot on the back wall.
  • Pull down to summon the elevator.
  • Press the first floor button.

 Poltergeist

Kitchen

  • Zoom in on the stove (A).
  • Take the POKER.
  • Open the oven door (B). Take the note.
  • Play the hidden object scene by the sink.

 Poltergeist

  • Open the drawer (A). Use the nutcracker on the nut (yellow) to get the kernel.
  • Open the drawer (B) to find the scissors (pink).
  • Clean off the dirty picture of a duck with the rag (aqua).
  • Find the rest of the listed objects.
  • The SUGAR TONGS go to inventory.
  • Go through the door at the back of the room.

 Poltergeist

Dining Room

  • Examine the portrait (A). Take the RAPIER and diary page.
  • Take the CANDLE on the table.
  • Retrieve the CAKE KNIFE embedded in the chair.
  • Go through the opposite door (B).
  • Enter the first door on the left.

Bedroom

  • Pick up the two diary pages (pink).
  • Take the clue for the safe combination (aqua).
  • Look closer at the nightstand (A). The STATUETTE combines with the CRUCIBLE for a METAL STATUE in inventory.
  • Use the CAKE KNIFE to pry the PUTTY out of the corner of the window (B). It combines with the RAPIER to form a RAPIER WITH PUTTY in inventory.
  • Take the KANGLE FAMILY TREE (C).
  • Open the box on the lower shelf of the cart (D). Take the LOTTO KEG.
  • Exit the bedroom

Hallway

  • Peer into the depths of the second suit of armor (A). Use the RAPIER WITH PUTTY to retrieve the PORTRAIT (second of four).
  • Examine the door at the end of the hall (B). Use the SUGAR TONGS to get the KEY PART.
  • Return to the elevator (down three).
  • Put the LOTTO KEG in the top hole. Press the new button.

Attic

  • Take the note from the coat pocket (A).
  • Pick up the note by the bundle of boards (B). If this page is blank, open the diary to read the contents.
  • Play the hidden object scene (C).

  • Attach the scale pan to fix the scale.
  • Find the rest of the listed objects.
  • Receive a TIN OPENER. The opener opens the full TIN. An empty TIN returns to inventory.
  • Take the elevator down to the basement.
  • Exit the mansion.
  • Go to the fountain and forward on the left path. Turn right to go to the lightening tree.

  • Zoom in on the waterfall.
  • Dip the TIN in the clay along the bank.
  • The clay-filled TIN returns to inventory.
  • Go forward to the stables. Enter the blacksmith's shop.

  • Put the METAL STATUE in the fire (A). Get HOT METAL.
  • Open the TIN in inventory. Place both KEY PARTS in the clay to make a mold (B).
  • Pour the HOT METAL in the mold (C). Take the KEY.
  • Return to the mansion basement. Take the elevator to the first floor.
  • Go through the kitchen to the dining room.

Dining Room

  • Pick up the piece of BROKEN CHINA.
  • Go forward.

Hallway

  • Shine the flashlight on the door at the end of the hall.
  • Insert the KEY into the lock.

Second Bedroom

  • Pick up the diary page on the chair (pink).
  • Look closer at the mirror (A).
  • Place the CANDLE in the holder. Use the LIGHTER to light it (aqua).
  • Take a photo (B) for the diary.
  • The marks on the mirror are also added to the diary.
  • Take the note on the mirror.
  • Examine the dresser (C).
  • Take the paint-covered PORTRAIT (third of four).
  • Take the elevator to the third floor.

Attic

  • Zoom in on the boards (A).
  • Use the BROKEN CHINA to cut the tie. Take a PLANK.
  • Go out the window (B).
  • Walk the ledge toward the tower roof. Or not.
  • Use the PLANK to span the gap (C).
  • Continue on your way.
  • Use the POKER to help climb the rungs to the top of the tower.

Tower Top

  • Pick up the COIN and diary page.
  • Peer over the edge.
  • Retreat to the elevator and return to the laundry room (floor 0).

  • Use the CHINA PIECE to cut the cord (A). The TWINE combines with the CROSSBOW to form a CROSSBOW WITH TWINE in inventory.
  • Look at the drain (B).
  • Use the COIN to remove the two screws (yellow). The grate moves out of the way.
  • Take the PORTRAIT (four of four).
  • Return to the attic and go to the top of the tower.

Tower Top

  • Lean over the opening.
  • Place the CROSSBOW WITH TWINE on the lever (green). The crossbow takes over, aims and shoots at the lever.
  • Pull to lower the chandelier.

Hall of Mirrors

  • Pick up the diary note.
  • Examine the chandelier (A). Take the GOLDEN MEDALLION.
  • Zoom in on the red can at the back (B). Dip the paint-covered PORTRAIT in the solution to remove the paint.
  • Open the KANGALE FAMILY TREE frame in inventory.
  • Add the four PORTRAITS (Phillip, Victoria, Elizabeth and Melissa) to the side of the tree to open a puzzle.
  • The goal is to place the portraits in the correct lineage. The diary note of the "List of Guests" (D) is a clue for the placement. It is attached to the puzzle.
  • Use the dates and male and female signs to help. Hint: Margo is Margaret.
  • Solution:

  • Numbers flash on the screen and are added to the diary. They are the combination for the safe and are random.
  • Climb the chandelier chain back to the tower.
  • Take the elevator to the first floor.
  • Continue through to the hallway. Enter first door on the left.

Bedroom

  • Zoom in on the safe (A).
  • Drag the tumbler numbers until they match the numbers that flashed on the screen when the family tree puzzle was finished (they are also in the diary).
  • The above numbers are crossed out, as the numbers received are random. Yours may not match what is on the above screenshot.
  • Click the handle (B) to open the safe.
  • Take the GOLDEN KEY (C).

 Poltergeist

  • Open the GOLDEN MEDALLION in inventory.
  • Rotate the outer ring following the directions recorded in the diary (A).
  • Make sure to drag the outside ring until the blue arrow is aligned at the top (B). Reset the puzzle by closing the window and reopening it.
  • Entering the combination correctly slides back the cover over the keyhole.
  • Insert the GOLDEN KEY (C) to open the medallion.
  • Take BRENDA'S RING (D).
  • Solution: Right 2x, Left 3x, Right, Left, Right 2x.
  • Return to the lightening tree (down 4x to elevator, press 0, down 5x, left 2x, right).

  • Zoom in on the tree.
  • Place RICHARD and BRENDA'S RINGS in the two slots.
  • Use the LIGHTER to light the candle.
  • Watch the final cut scene.

  • Examine the broken lantern (A). Flip up the two latches (pink) holding the OIL pan.
  • Return to the beach.
  • Go up the stairs to the lighthouse.

  • Examine the flagpole (A).
  • Pour the OIL on the rusty screw. Take the THUMBSCREW.
  • Lift out the FLAGPOLE.
  • Return to the shack.

Shack

  • Use the FLAGPOLE to pry the door open.
  • Play the hidden object scene.

  • Put the scroll in the bottle. Take the message in a bottle.
  • Find the rest of the listed objects.
  • The SPADE goes to inventory.
  • Return to the beach.

  • Look at the buried crate on the left (A).
  • Use the shovel to dig out the CRATE.
  • Return to the lighthouse.

  • Place the CRATE at the base of the ladder (A).
  • Go up on the roof (B).
  • Use the HAMMER to remove the nails securing the GUTTER.
  • Go back down.
  • Pick up the CRATE.
  • Enter the lighthouse.
  • Enter the door on the right.

Bedroom

  • Remove both CURTAINS (2/3) from the windows (A).
  • Examine the bed (B). Pick up the note and the AWL.
  • Look at the cabinet (C). Use the HAMMER to break the glass. Take the HOSE.
  • Exit the bedroom. Enter the door on the left.

Kitchen

  • Use the flashlight to find the light switch (A).
  • Examine the curtain (B). Use the HAMMER to remove the nails to get the CURTAIN (3/3). The three curtains tie together to form CURTAINS in inventory.
  • Look in the cabinet (C). Take the HEADPHONES and SPOON.
  • Return to the bedroom.

  • Use the flashlight to reveal a trapdoor beside the bed (A).
  • Open the trapdoor and use the CURTAINS as a rope ladder (B).
  • Play the hidden object scene.

  • Place the butterfly in the frame (yellow). Take the museum butterfly.
  • Open the pouch to find the gas mask (pink).
  • Find the rest of the listed objects.
  • The WRENCH goes to inventory.
  • Return to the bedroom.
  • Exit to the sink area.

  • Place the CRATE on the floor (A).
  • Zoom in on the rod above the window.
  • Use the SPOON to remove the screw securing the rod (B).
  • The POLE goes to inventory (C).
  • Attach the GUTTER to the ceiling (D).
  • Look in the sink (E). Take the CORK.
  • Return to the beach.

Beach

  • Play the hidden object scene in the boat.

  • Put the necklace in the box (yellow). Take the jewelry box.
  • Find the rest of the listed objects.
  • The KEY goes to inventory.
  • Return to the lighthouse.

  • Use the KEY to open the padlock on the door.

  • Pick up the note and EMPTY CAN.
  • Play the hidden object scene.

  • Add the jack to the other two (yellow). Take the three of a kind.
  • Put the cheese in the mousetrap (pink) for a loaded mousetrap.
  • Find the rest of the objects.
  • The FORK goes to inventory.
  • Go up the stairs to the top of the lighthouse.

  • Examine the mechanism (A).
  • Use the WRENCH to remove the NUT (yellow). Take the CANE.
  • Go out to the platform.

  • Use the CANE to retrieve the antenna.

  • Insert the antenna in the pole.
  • Use the THUMBSCREW to secure the antenna.
  • Return to the bedroom.

  • Zoom in on the old lawnmower.
  • Put the EMPTY CAN under the spigot. Open the spout to get some FUEL.
  • Exit the lighthouse.
  • Go left.

  • Examine the rope (A). Take the TWEEZERS.
  • Look closer at the bench (B). Pick up the TILE and BOX.
  • Go down the steps (C).

  • Use the DOOR to span the gap (A).
  • Attempt to take the net (B). Oops.
  • Continue down the steps.

Ferry Landing

  • Zoom in on the motor.
  • Affix the NUT with the WRENCH (A).
  • Remove the gas cap. Pour the FUEL into the tank (B).
  • Pull the cord (C).
  • Take the ROPE that now dangles from the top of the engine housing.
  • Go onto the ferry.

Ferry

  • Pick up the KNIFE (A) and take the note.
  • Look closer at the crack (B). Pick up the TILE.
  • Use the TWEEZERS to extract the DIAMOND EARRING.
  • Open the BOX in inventory. Add the two TILES to open a puzzle.
  • The goal is to use the arrows to route the boat to all of the chests and end up at the port.
  • Once the tiles are placed, click the start button to start the ship on its course.

  • Take the piece of paper with the numbers on it (A).
  • Return to the top of the stairs.

  • Zoom in on the rope.
  • Use the KNIFE to cut off the THREAD.
  • The THREAD and DIAMOND EARRING combine for an IMPROVISED GLASS CUTTER in inventory.
  • Enter the lighthouse.
  • Go to the kitchen.

Kitchen

  • Look at the old phone (A). Use the KNIFE to cut off the CORD.
  • Click the CORK in inventory. Use the AWL to put a hole in the center.
  • Zoom in on the radio (C).

 Poltergeist

  • Use the CORK for the missing dial (A).
  • Attach the HEADPHONES (B) to activate the radio.
  • Refer to the diary. Look at the sheet of numbers (C). Adjust the dials to the top number (your number may be different).
  • Press the white button (D) to have a conversation.
  • Go to the bedroom.

Bedroom

  • Zoom in on the bed.
  • Use the KNIFE to slit open the mattress.
  • Take the COTTON WOOL.
  • Exit the lighthouse.
  • Go left and down the steps.

 Poltergeist

  • Open the BENT FORK in inventory. Use the AWL to punch a hole in it (B). The CORD attaches to the fork to form a LINE WITH HOOK in inventory.
  • Look through the gap by the door (B).
  • Use the LINE WITH HOOK to retrieve the NET.
  • Continue down to the ferry landing.

  • Cast the NET to retrieve the flask of RUM (A).
  • Open the POLE in inventory (B).
  • Attach the COTTON WOOL to the pole. Douse the wool with the RUM. The TORCH returns to inventory.
  • Return to the top of the cliff.

Lighthouse

  • Zoom in on the broken wires (A).
  • Place the TORCH next to the sparks to get a LIT TORCH.
  • Enter the lighthouse.

Kitchen

  • Pick up the IRON BAR (B).
  • Go through the door on the right.

Lighthouse Tower

  • Use the IRON BAR to pry up the hatch (A).
  • Uncover the fuel tank.
  • Go to the top of the tower.

Top of Lighthouse

  • Crank the handle (A) to retract the rope.
  • Attach the ROPE to the end of the frayed rope. Crank to lower the rope again. Crank until the knot connecting the two pieces of rope isn't visible.
  • Attach the HOSE to the pipe (C).
  • Go down the steps.
  • If the rope end is visible at the next level down, go back up and crank the rope again.
  • Go down to the base of the steps.

 Poltergeist

  • Attach the rope to the fuel tank (A).
  • Run back up the steps.
  • Click the crank (B) to bring up the fuel tank.
  • Attach the end of the hose to the tank (C)
  • Go up the steps (D).

 Poltergeist

  • Use the IMPROVISED GLASS CUTTER to cut an opening in the beacon (A).
  • Turn on the valve for the fuel.
  • Use the LIT TORCH to light the beacon.
  • Go back down.
  • Watch the final cut scene.
