Game Introduction - The Scruffs: Return of the Duke

Welcome to the The Scruffs: Return of the Duke walkthrough on Gamezebo. The Scruffs: Return of the Duke is a hidden object/adventure game played on the PC created by Sweet Tooth Games. This walkthrough includes tips and tricks, helpful hints, and a strategy guide on how to complete the game.

How to Use this Walkthrough (Please Read)

  • This walkthrough is meant to be used as a guide to assist in solving mini-puzzles and acquiring all items in order to complete the game. You may explore locations in the order you wish, this walkthrough is written to take the most direct route to the game’s finish.

  • Inventory objects will be written in bold. The walkthrough will state, “Use the inventory item on the blah blah,” because it assumes you have the item. If you don’t have the item, on your keyboard, press CTRL+F (at the same time). In the text box, type the name of the item you are looking for and press ENTER. This will scan this page for the appearance of that word.

Gameplay and Tips

  • This is a hidden object adventure game. You will move from location to location solving hidden object hunts, mini-puzzles and picking up items to use in order to proceed in the game.

  • Help on the main screen explains gameplay.

  • This game has two levels of difficulty.

  • Casual mode offers more in-game help and the hint timer charges quickly.

  • Expert mode offers less in-game help and the hint timer takes longer to charge.

  • Move your cursor over every aspect of a scene and watch for it to change; it’s the only way to find everything.

  • The Menu button at the bottom right of the screen will bring you back to the main screen.

  • Items collected throughout the game go into your inventory, located at the bottom of your screen.

  • The notepad at the bottom left of your screen shows you the tasks you need to complete.

  • Closing a window – To close the zoom-in windows, click anywhere outside of the window.

  • Mini-puzzles can be skipped once the Skip button fills. Click on the question mark at the left of the scene to get instructions on how to solve the puzzle.

  • Hint system – Hints are available in the bottom right of the screen.

  • Using a hint will wake up Scruffy the dog. He will get excited and jump up and down or give a thumbs up when your cursor gets close to an item you need to find, an inventory item to pick up or an active area you need to investigate. He'll tell you to check elsewhere if there's nothing to do in that room.

  • Hidden object hunts provide a list of items to find. Click on items in the scene to cross them off the list. Once you have found all the hidden objects, an item is added to your inventory. Items written in green mean you need to perform an action in order to find them. In the screenshots, yellow highlights will show the items you need to find, green highlights will show the items that require an action.

Chapter One: Wisdom

  • After clicking Play from the main screen, watch the cutscene. Choose your difficulty setting, then watch another cutscene.

  • When offered interactive help, click Yes.

  • Find eight feathers.

  • Go up the stairs to the attic.

  • Give the feathers to the Rajah. Take the scroll. A hidden object hunt starts.

  • Take the telephone handset. Click on the telephone. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.

  • Go down to the inn.

  • Find all the objects. Click on the menu board. Move the sign and take the lipstick.

  • Click on the shelves behind the bar. Move the small "Rajah's secret delights" sign and take the typewriter knobs.

  • Go up to the attic.

  • Click on the telephone. When it stops ringing, click anywhere outside the window to close it.

  • Take the credit card. Click on the character looking in the window.

  • Click on the typewriter. Add the typewriter knobs. Turn the knobs three times and take the pin code. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.

  • Click on the telephone. Insert the credit card and enter the pin code (if you don’t remember the number, click on it, memorize the number, then close it and enter the code).

  • A mini-puzzle starts. Complete the sudoku puzzle. The board is broken up into nine areas with nine boxes in each. Enter numbers into the tiles however numbers cannot be repeated in any row, column or nine box area. Diagonal doesn't count.

  • Solution:

  • Watch the cutscene.

  • On the Book of Scrufford, click on the area that reads "click here." Read the entry, then click Continue.

Chapter Two: Honesty

  • Watch the cutscene.

  • Find eight types of pasta. When you are finished, click on the sign for the park, then from the next scene, click on the sign for the station.

  • At the station, give the pasta to Michelangelo. Take the scroll to trigger a hidden object hunt.

  • Find all the objects. A clamp is added to your inventory.

  • Return to the grocery (click on the park sign, then the grocery sign).

  • Find all the objects. Click on the fruit on the stand and take the asparagus. Move the weight and take the lime. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.

  • Click on the display in the store (white circle in screenshot above). Move the small sign and take the corkscrew. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.

  • Click on the sign for the park.

  • Click on the fountain.

  • Use the corkscrew on the cork in the fountain. Take the coin. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.

  • Click on the statue. Add the clamp to the loose brick, then pull out the brick. Take the coin.

  • Click on the station sign.

  • Take the two letter rolls.

  • Click on the newspaper box. Add the two coins and take the train timetable. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.

  • From your inventory, click on the train timetable and take note of the circled time (13:20 out of Scrufford).

  • Click on the ticket office sign (yellow rectangle in the screenshot above).

  • Take the third letter roll. Add the three letter rolls to the alphabet roller. A mini-puzzle starts. Rearrange all the train tracks to create a continuous circuit. Click on a track to rotate it clockwise.

  • Click on the clock. You are missing items. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.

  • Take the four roman numerals. Click on the clock (yellow square).

  • Take the two roman numerals. Add the six roman numerals to the clock. Set the time to the circled departure time on the train timetable (13:20).

  • Read the entry. Click the Continue button.

Chapter Three: Justice

  • Watch the cutscene.

  • Find ten candles. Leave the police station to go to the castle entrance.

  • Click on the castle door. Watch the cutscene. When it's done, click on the mysterious character by the car. Go to the tennis court.
  • Give the candles Max.

  • Find all the objects. Click on the fountain (green highlight) and take the pinecone. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Go to the castle entrance.

  • Take the sprinkler. Return to the police station.

  • Find all the objects. Click on the photocopier (green highlight) and take the battery. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Take the fertilizer (blue highlight).
  • Return to the tennis court.

  • Click on the gazebo. Move the blanket off the left chair and take the pile of paper from the floor. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.

  • Click on the fountain. Add the hose to the faucet, then add the sprinkler to the end of the hose. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Add the fertilizer to the ground.
  • Click on the fountain. Turn on the faucet.
  • Watch the animation.
  • Return to the police station.

  • Take the scissors. Return to the castle entrance.

  • Click on the poster on the door and read it. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Click on the ivy on the left. Use the scissors to cut the three berries. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the tennis court.

  • Give the berries to the grolly. After the animation, return to the castle entrance. Take the drumsticks that are in front of the door. Return to the tennis court. Give the drumsticks to the grolly.
  • Return to the police station.

  • Click on the photocopier. Open the tray and add the pile of paper. Press the Copy button. After the copy has come out, lift the photocopy cover and take the key. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the castle entrance.
  • Click on the car. Use the key in the lock and lift the trunk. Take the grolly doll. Click anywhere outside the window to close it. Return to the tennis court.
  • Give the grolly doll to the grolly. Take the picture he presents. From your inventory, click on the picture and note the password at the bottom: BADDIE. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the police station.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the computer. Click on the password field and when the keyboard appears, type the password you saw on the picture, BADDIE. When you are finished, click the arrow button.
  • Read the email. A mini-puzzle starts. Look at the picture on the left and on the right. Find the guest on the left that does not appear in the picture on the right.

  • Read the entry. Click the Continue button.

Chapter Four: Prudence

  • Watch the cutscene

  • Find the ten cupcakes.
  • Go upstairs to the Duke's bedchamber.
  • Give the cupcakes to Pixie. Take the scroll.

  • Find all the objects.

 Return of the Duke

  • Take the firewood, crystal eye and chisel hammer. Go out to the balcony.

  • Take the telescope body and tinder. Put the telescope body on the telescope.
  • Return to the Grand Hall.

  • Find all the objects. Click on the lion statue's mouth and take the watch battery. An oil can is added to your inventory.
  • Click on the lion statue's head (if necessary) and add the crystal eye to the empty eye socket. When the golden fang lowers, use the chisel hammer to take it. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.

 Return of the Duke

  • Take the carving knife and eyepiece.
  • Click on the suit of armour's head. Use the oil can on the helmet and open the visor. Take the combination. Return to the Duke's bedchamber.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the chest in front of the bed. Open the chest using the combination you got from the suit of armour's helmet (click on the combination in your inventory to get the number). Assuming it is the same combination each game, the combination is 7-3-6. Once it's opened, use the golden fang on the next chest. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the Grand Hall and go right into the dining room.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the mysterious character in the window. Take the lens and the lighter. Click on the turkey. Use the carving knife on it and take the gold wishbone. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Click on the fireplace. To the fireplace, add the firewood and tinder, then light it with the lighter. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the Duke's bedchamber.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the chest in front of the bed. If you haven't already, open the first chest using the combination found in the suit of armour's helmet, then use the golden fang to open the second chest. To the third chest, use the gold wishbone, then turn it. Take the four dials. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the balcony.

 Return of the Duke

  • To the telescope, add the eyepiece and lens. Look into the telescope for the clue "Check behind the painting." Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the Duke's bedchamber.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the painting. Add the four dials. A mini-puzzle starts. Adjust the painting using the four dials to make the painting match its title.

  • Using the screenshot above as a guide, turn dial A until the crescent moon is in the sky. Turn dial B until the animal is a horse. Turn dial C until a lute is in the minstrel's hands and turn dial D until the woman appears.
  • Open the painting and take the Duke of Scrufford's Signet Ring.
  • Read the entry. Click the Continue button.

Chapter Five: Hope

  • Watch the cutscene.

 Return of the Duke

  • Find the ten lollipops. Go out to reception and go to the dentist (door with tooth).
  • Give Bernard the lollipops. Take the scroll.

 Return of the Duke

  • Find all the objects. Click on the outlet (green highlight) and take the peppermint candy. Click anywhere outside the window to close it. A beaker and dropper are added to your inventory.
  • Return to reception.

 Return of the Duke

  • Take the drawer handle. Click on the drawings on the wall at the right. Read them, then click anywhere outside the window to close it. Go into the veterinary.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the mysterious character in the window.
  • Find all the objects. A mixing stick and Frisbee are added to your inventory.

 Return of the Duke

  • Return to reception and try to enter surgery (far left). Watch the cutscene.
  • Give the Frisbee to Scruffy and when he runs off, enter surgery.
  • Watch the cutscene.

 Return of the Duke

  • Find all the objects. Click on the drawers (green highlight) and take the marker. Click anywhere outside the window to close it. A lighter, adaptor and hand sieve are added to your inventory.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the drawers. Add the drawer handle. Open the drawer and take the ostrich egg. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Take the whistle. Use the whistle on Scruffy's empty area to call him back.
  • Go back to reception.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the grandfather clock. Open the door and take the platinum foil. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Enter the dentistry.

  • Use the hand sieve on the fish tank (two clicks) and take the aloe vera leaf.
  • Click on the outlet. Plug in the adaptor, then put the plug into the adaptor. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the veterinary.

  • Click on the shelves.
  • Take the four numbered bottles, bottle "7", bottle "9", bottle "4", bottle "2". A mini-puzzle starts. Rearrange the books so the symbols all connect.
  • Solution:

  • Take the recipe. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.

  • Using the scale, weigh the aloe vera leaf to learn it weighs 2 kg so it is represented by bottle "2". Weigh the meteor rock to learn it weighs 7 kg so it is represented by bottle "7". Weigh the ostrich egg to learn it weighs 9 kg so it is represented by bottle "9". Weigh the platinum foil to learn it weighs 4 kg so it is represented by bottle "4". Use the arrows to scroll through your inventory.
  • Click on the burner.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the recipe. Read the recipe, take note of the instructions, then close it.
  • Put the beaker on the burner. Pour in bottle "9" and bottle "2". Use the mixing stick to stir the contents of the beaker, then use the lighter to light the burner. Add bottle "7", then turn off the heat by clicking the button (if it doesn't work, click on the very left of the button). Add bottle "4" and stir again with the mixing stick. Use the dropper on the contents of the beaker to get the dropper with serum. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.

 Return of the Duke

  • Use the dropper with serum on the sleeping hamster.
  • Return to the dentistry.

 Return of the Duke

  • If you haven't already, click on the outlet, add the adaptor and then plug in the plug. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Click on the monitor. A mini-puzzle starts. Look at the monitor and take note of the item in Scruffy's belly. Click Ready and another item will be added. Click on the newly added item. If you are correct, another item will be added and you must click on it. Continue clicking on the newly added items until the monitor breaks. This puzzle appears to be different with each play so screenshots aren't helpful.
  • When you are finished, take the Shield of Scrufford.
  • Read the entry. Click the Continue button.

Chapter Six: Patience

  • Watch the cutscene.

 Return of the Duke

  • Find 12 eggs. When you are finished, go to the ruins.
  • Give the eggs to Scott. Take the scroll.

 Return of the Duke

  • Find all the objects. Click on the top left wall, move the leaves and take the hook and string. Click anywhere outside the window to close it. A metal detector and hook and string are added to your inventory.
  • Return to the farm.

 Return of the Duke

  • Find all the objects. Click on the area under the small bridge. Take the knife. Click anywhere outside the window to close it. A knife and hay fork are added to your inventory.
  • Enter the farmhouse.

 Return of the Duke

  • Take the hand spindle.
  • Click on the instructions on the wall. Read the note about the cat and the instructions to make yarn. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the ruins.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the mysterious character. Enter the alcove.

  • Use the hand spindle to gather the web (three clicks) to make a ball of yarn. There is no spider behind the web!!!
  • Return to the farm and go to the windmill.

  • Click on the window on the right. Take the rungs and ribbon. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the farmhouse.

  • Put the ball of yarn in the box, then close the box and tie it with the ribbon. Take the box (precious package).
  • Go out to the farm.

  • Open the mailbox and put the precious package in it. Enter the barn.

  • Find all the objects. Click on the basket of apples. Take the cat collar. Move the leaf and take the apple worm. Click anywhere outside the window to close it. An apple worm is added to your inventory.

  • Put the rungs on the ladder. Climb up the ladder.

 Return of the Duke

  • Take the fishing rod. Use the metal detector on the haystack. Move the metal detector around until it lights up green (around the centre of the haystack). Once you've located it, use the hay fork on the hay (two clicks), then take the yellow mural piece.
  • Click anywhere outside the window to close it and return to the farm.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the area under the small bridge. Put the fishing rod on the stand, then add the hook and string, then add the apple worm to the hook. Wait a few seconds, then take the sleepy snapper. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Enter the farmhouse.

 Return of the Duke

  • Give the cat collar to the cat. Put the sleepy snapper on the cutting board, then cut it open with the knife. Take the strange mural piece.
  • Go out to the farm.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the mailbox and take the teal mural piece.
  • Return to the windmill.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the nest. Take the purple mural piece. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the alcove.
  • Click on the mural. Add the mural pieces; in the top left, add the yellow mural piece, to the bottom left, add the strange mural piece, to the top right, add the purple mural piece and to the bottom right, add the teal mural piece. A mini-puzzle starts. Rotate the rings to recreate the painting. When you are finished and the painting opens, take the Land Deed of Scrufford.
  • Read the entry. Click the Continue button.

Chapter Seven: Benevolence

  • Watch the cutscene.

 Return of the Duke

  • Find 12 buttons. Go to the cave.
  • Give the buttons to the witch. Take the scroll.

 Return of the Duke

  • Find all the objects. Click on the basket and take the flashlight. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.

 Return of the Duke

  • Take the bucket. Click on the basket. Take the matchstick and light it on the matchbox, then light the bee smoker. Take the bee smoker. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the forest.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the mysterious character (blue highlight). Find all the objects. Click on the bench. Take the key. Click anywhere outside the window to close it. An axe and key are added to your inventory.
  • Click on the hole in the tree (red highlight). Put the key in the chest, then open the chest. Take the How to Prod a Bear instructions.
  • Click on the area under the bridge.

 Return of the Duke

  • Take the crank. Fill the bucket from the stream. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Go to the witch's house.

 Return of the Duke

  • Find all the objects. Click on the well and take the nut. While still looking in the well, use the axe on the wood covering, then use the flashlight to look inside. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.

 Return of the Duke

  • Take the empty wheelbarrow, machete and shovel. Once you have the empty wheelbarrow, take the concrete block (1/5). Click on the well. Take the concrete block (2/5). Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Put the crank on the wheel. Turn the crank and take the ready-mix cement.
  • Return to the forest.

 Return of the Duke

  • Take the concrete block (3/5). Click on the bench. Take the concrete block (4/5). Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Click on the area under the bridge.

 Return of the Duke

  • Take the concrete block (5/5). Once you have all five concrete blocks, put them in the water. If you haven't yet done so, fill the bucket with water. Put the ready-mix concrete in the bucket, then put the mixed cement on the concrete block wall. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Go to the cave and enter the bear's cave.

  • Take the tall stepladder.
  • Return to the witch's house.

 Return of the Duke

  • Put the tall stepladder in front of the house. Click on the beehive. Use the bee smoker, then open it with the machete. Take the amulet gem. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the forest.
  • Click on the bench.

 Return of the Duke

  • Add the amulet gem in the centre of the bench. A mini-puzzle starts. Click on the bees so all the bees are showing. Click on a tile and it will invert it and its six surrounding tiles. There is no reset button so a step-by-step solution isn't possible. For the left side, I recommend starting from the very left and working towards the right. Repeat this pattern for the right side.
  • Once you are finished, click anywhere outside the window to close it.

 Return of the Duke

  • Use the shovel to dig up the area indicated by an X. take the bear prod.
  • Return to the bear's cave.

 Return of the Duke

  • Look at the How to Prod a Bear instructions. Use the bear prod on various parts of the bear. Keep prodding until he eventually gets up. First prod his belly, then tail, chest, nose, leg, hand, elbow, and head.
  • Take the Sword of Scrufford.
  • Read the entry. Click the Continue button.

Chapter Eight: Integrity

  • Watch the cutscene.

 Return of the Duke

  • Find 12 shells. Leave the area, go to row boat, then the beach, then up to the cliff cottage.
  • Give Archibald the shells. Take the scroll.

 Return of the Duke

  • Find all the objects. Click on the chair.
  • Move the ribbon and take the crowbar. Take the fishing net. Click anywhere outside the window to close it. A fishing net, crowbar and tongs are added to your inventory.
  • Return to the beach.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the sand castle. Use the tongs to take the special sand. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Click on the crate on the beach. Take the small cog. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Go up to the lighthouse.

 Return of the Duke

  • Find all the objects. Click on the stairs.

 Return of the Duke

  • Take the juicer (bottom right corner). Move the nets and take the oar. Click anywhere outside the window to close it. A fire extinguisher and juicer are added to your inventory.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the ship in a bottle. Take the big cog. A mini-puzzle starts. Pull the beads to raise the sails on the ship. Pull the beads until one stays pulled. This is the first bead. Now pull another bead. If it and the first bead return to the starting position, pull the first bead again and pull another bead. Continue until a second bead stays pulled. Continue until all the beads are pulled.
  • To solve the puzzle, pull the beads in the following order: green, red, yellow, pink and orange.
  • Take the blue pearl that rolls out. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Go back to the beach (move down).

  • Put the oar on the right side of the boat. Go back to the row boat (move down).

  • Find all the objects. Take the small cog (blue highlight). Move down to the pier.

 Return of the Duke

  • Find all the objects. Click on the area on top of the dock.

 Return of the Duke

  • Take the sand dollar. Take the big cog. The stanley knife and miner's hat are added to your inventory. Use the stanley knife on the bags and take the map. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the row boat, then move towards the fishing boat (on the right).

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the mysterious character. Take the big cog and the snorkeling gear.
  • Return to the pier.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click underwater. Put the snorkeling gear on the water.
  • Click on the pulley gearbox. Move the glass panel.

 Return of the Duke

  • Add the five cogs according to the screenshot above. Close the panel, then click the green button.
  • When the pulley raises, take the yellow pearl.

 Return of the Duke

  • Take the squid. Pry open the clam with the crowbar, then add the special sand. Close the clam, then take the white pearl. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the beach.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the crate. Add the map, then the juicer, then put the squid on the juicer. Take the juicer with ink, then put it on the map. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Click on the cave. Add the miner's hat. Use the fishing net on the hole the map highlighted to get the red pearl. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the cliff cottage.

 Return of the Duke

  • Put out the fire with the fire extinguisher. Click on the fireplace. Add the blue pearls, red pearl, white pearl and the yellow pearl. A mini-puzzle starts. Watch the blue gems. The blue gems will light up and they you have to click on them in the same order. Do this four times.
  • When you are finished, take the Golden Compass.
  • Read the entry. Click the Continue button.

Chapter Nine: Loyalty

  • Watch the cutscene.

 Return of the Duke

  • Find 12 bowties. Enter the castle and go to the dining room.
  • Give the bowties to Fritz. Take the scroll.

 Return of the Duke

  • Find all the objects. Click on the glass cabinet on the left. Take the pencil. Click anywhere outside the window to close it. A funnel and pencil are added to your inventory.
  • Take the dog food (blue highlight).
  • Return to the Grand Hall.

  • Take the gear shift. Go out to the castle entrance.

  • Find all the objects. Take the laxative (blue highlight). Click on the car.

  • Take the wick. Take the cloth. A wick and wire cutters are added to your inventory. Put the gear shift in the slot. Use the wire cutters to cut the wires. Use the pencil in the cassette, then take the cassette. Put the cassette in the tape deck. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Enter the castle and go upstairs to the Duke's bedchamber.

  • Find all the objects. Click under the bed.

  • Take the fountain pen. Take the key and Winston's bowl. Click anywhere outside the window to close it. A lobster fork is added to your inventory.
  • Go out to the balcony.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the mysterious character. Take the glue and the gunpowder. Put Winston's bowl in front of Winston, then add the dog food and put the laxative on the dog food.
  • Return to the Grand Hall and enter the armoury.

  • Find all the objects. Take the silver polish (blue highlight). Click on the cannon (red highlight). Put the funnel in the cannon, then add the gunpowder and the wick. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the castle entrance and click on the car.

  • Use the key to open the glove compartment. Take the lighter. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the armoury.

 Return of the Duke

  • Click on the cannon. If you haven't already, put the funnel in the cannon, then add the gunpowder and the wick. Light the wick with the lighter. After the cannon fires, take the cannonball (1/4).
  • Return to the balcony.
  • Wait for Winston to leave.

  • Click on the doghouse. Take the cannonball (2/4). Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the dining room.

  • Click on the area on the right.

  • Take the tape. A mini-puzzle starts. Arrange the pieces in the spaces below the name plates. When a place is properly placed, it will become locked and cannot be moved.
  • Once all the pieces have been placed, add glue to each plate. Then match each place to its country.

  • Take note of the number that appears (8-1-5). Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Click on the glass display case on the left. Open the chest using the combination you got after completing the plates.

  • Add the silver polish. Collect all the silverware and put it on the blue cloth. Add the lobster fork. Dip the cloth in the silver polish. Use the cloth with polish on all the silverware, then put the silverware into the chest. Once all the silverware has been place, take the cannonball (3/4). Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the castle entrance, then click on the car.

  • Use the tape on the cut wires to hot-wire the car. Take note of the audio coming from the tape deck (if you haven't already added the cassette to the tape deck, check the instructions above). When the audio says "start," take note of gears from the audio. When the audio says "start," take note of the order of the gears listed until you hear "stop." Then move the gear shift in the same order as the audio cassette listed.
  • Once you've moved the gear shift properly, the steering wheel panel will open. Take the cannonball (4/4). Click anywhere outside the window to close it. Return to the armoury.

  • Click on the painting.

  • Add the four cannonballs. A mini-puzzle starts. Using the arrows, move the cannonballs towards the castle window.

  • After the music, the painting will slide open. Take the Crown of Scrufford.
  • Read the entry. Click the Continue button.

Chapter Ten: Love

  • Watch the cutscene. Move forward towards the dungeon corridor, then go left to the jail.
  • Watch the cutscene.

  • Find 12 lanterns scattered in the rooms. Take one lantern from the jail.
  • Move left to the dungeon corridor.

  • Take three lanterns from the dungeon corridor. Move down to the dungeon entrance.

  • Take three lanterns from the dungeon entrance. Move forward two scenes to the central hall.

  • Take two lanterns from the central hall. Move left to the gallery.

  • Take three lanterns from the gallery. Return to the jail (move right to the central hall, then down to the dungeon entrance and left to the jail).
  • Give the lanterns to Alfie. Watch the cutscene. Take the bat whistle he offers.
  • Go to the dungeon corridor.

  • Take the stick. Go down to the dungeon entrance.

  • Take the battery. Move forward two scenes to the central hall.

  • Click on the panel on the left wall. Open the electrical (top) panel and add the battery. A mini-puzzle starts. Light the bulbs. Each bulb has a number on it. This number indicates how many bulbs it needs to be connected to. Click on a bulb and then click on another bulb. If it won't connect, try another bulb. You can only connect to a correct bulb. Basically just click from bulb to bulb until it sticks. Also, a bulb can be connected to another bulb multiple times.

  • Take the night vision goggles. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Go right into the dark room.

  • Put on the night vision goggles, then use the bat whistle on the bats. Take the plunger and the brass wedge. Leave and go left to the gallery.

  • Take the lever. Click on the panel on the left. Use the plunger to remove the glass. A mini-puzzle starts. Slide the tiles out of the way to allow the box with the fuse to move to the far right.

  • Start by moving the box with the fuse (A) as far right as you can. Then move tile B down. Move C as far to the left as possible. Move tiles D and E all the way to the top. Move tile F as far left as possible and move tile G all the way down. This will clear the path for the box with the fuse (A) to move all the way to the right.
  • Take the fuse. Click anywhere outside the window to close it. Return to the dungeon entrance.

  • Click on the panel on the left wall. Add the lever, then pull it down. A mini-puzzle starts. Swap the tiles to recreate the painting.

  • Take the magnet so you get a magnet tied to a stick. Click anywhere outside the window to close it.
  • Return to the central hall.

  • Use the magnet tied to a stick to get the ancient medallion. Go left to the gallery and forward to the dungeon door.

  • Click on the door. Put the ancient medallion in the lock. A mini-puzzle starts. Click on the spears in the correct order to remove them. This is similar to the bead puzzle from Chapter Eight.

  • Click on the spears in the order shown in the screenshot above.
  • When you are finished, put the fuse in the slot at the top of the doorway (just below the Skip button). A mini-puzzle starts. Turn off the lasers by clicking on four similar symbols at a time.

  • The screenshot above indicates the groupings of four according to colour. All the yellow highlighted symbols match, all the green…, etc.
  • When you are finished, add the brass wedge. A mini-puzzle starts. Use the arrows to rotate the middle ring. Note the middle ring is broken up into groups of two colours and the two colours combined make up the colour for the inner ring's symbols. Rotate and adjust the middle rings colours to properly "paint" the inner ring's symbols. To adjust the colours, click on an area of the middle ring (note a couple cannot be selected) and then click on a gem on the outer ring however they must be touching.
