I bought the game from BFG and so far so good but reading your posts I hope I don't get an error message. Definently cannot handle another Magic Encyclopedia game. That really was frustrating.
If you don't mind my asking where did you buy the game from? Also did you check out BFG's forum to see if maybe the problem is listed there, just a thought.

Bought it from BFG. My friend is using Vista, and he got trough the game without trouble though. He said he gets an error every time he shuts the game down, but nothing that was preventing him from playing problem free. I run Win XP Pro.

I am also running it on Vista. Usually it is Vista with all the problems..I sure hope you get an answer soon Vimsen I know how frustrating it can be. Keep all heavy objects away from the monitor until the problem is resolved..I was ready to throw things when ME didn't work.

lol EIEIO, yeah, gotta keep all heavy objects far away from the computer in times like these. Luckily, my computer is way too heavy to throw out the window ;)
I sent mail to BG support, hoping to get a decent answer from them, they are usually helpful, but I'm guessing I'll just end up with them giving me a coupon to use for my next purchase since this game is messed up.

A friend of mine claims he finished it in about two and a half hours, including following the story. I don't know for myself though, as I have not bothered to start over yet due to bugs.

I bought mine from BFG and I have Windows XP and haven't had any problems either. But when it was up for evaluation on Real Arcade it wouldn't play at all for me.With respect to the length of the game, I've been trying to take notes. So far I've encountered 36 plus or minus search locations and I'm still in France. I still have 2 more countries left. You visit 7 countries I believe and there are numerous search locations per country.I was surprised the Gamezebo review said it was short. I personally couldn't have played through it in 2 hours. But I'm slower with the hidden object games. I've never played through any of those in one session.

Ok, I just heard back from BFG and this is what they had to say: Thanks for writing back with that information. Unfortunately, it looks like the game may not be compatible with the video card on your computer. Because the video card is not able to process the graphics in the game, you are getting the access violation message. Sadly, this can occasionally happen with computer games. I apologize for the inconvenience.

I got the same access violation code error from every site I used to download this game - Real Arcade Evaluation, Gamezebo Beta, Mumbo Jumbo Beta, and Big Fish when it was released. I figured it had something to do with my PC and now I know that for sure.
