Actually, I think I have at least 5 barns - and I'm on week 8 in expert mode. I think multiple barns might be essential to really be fast. Also lots of crates placed all over the place, in addition to a pest thing by each set of crops, tools by each machine and (if possible) seed bags on each side of the crop, one on the top, one on the bottom. Also, two shears - one below and one above the sheep. Well, you get the picture. :-)

Whoops, I lied. I have four barns, and am on level 7/expert. Jumping ahead of myself. :-)

Robin I am glad you put a picture up, I was trying to figure out how you organized all of that!! Brilliant! You could propbaly get through Expert Mode without too much trouble with that layout!!!Blulapis, I had cut mine down to 1 barn to make room. I like having 2. I see it can be done with more than 1 barn. I hope you put up a picture of your Ranch. I bet it is Awesome!!! Bye- Tracey

well, I may be doing it differently because I only have 1 cow, 1 sheep, 1 of each machine and 3 ostriches. I felt that having multiple machines and animals didn't actually save me time, because I had to feed or stock them anyway. Having three ostriches can work, because you can carry three crates and feed them all at once. But having lots of barns and crates saves me a ton of walking. I don't know how to post a picture, but when I finish expert mode, I'm going to feel very proud of myself and will brag all over the place, and ask how to share a picture. :-)

I am going to try and explain this correctly. In the Ranch Rush Forum, there are some instructions from MargieB. she is the Moderator. If you do not understand what to do once your there, just type "help" and someone with much more knowledge then myself will help you. There were a few who had trouble, me included. :) Luckily, my son helped with the part I was not getting.I will go bump the thread up and if you feel like it give it a go!!! Good luck! Tracey

I found I only needed two cows, because they will make milk faster if you feed them faster and there is always plenty of clover to feed them. Having 4 ostriches greatly simplified the egg issue, which is what always held up the bread otherwise. And you can't feed the ostriches faster because you don't know what food they will ask for next.

Tracey, you did explain. You told me where to go and find instructions. Very helpful. :-) I'm going to wait until my final farm, and then post, brag and collapse from exhaustion. :-) Hopefully, I'll finish within the next couple days, I have 7 more days to go in the game. Robin, I agree about feeding cows and sheep in advance, and I know what you mean about the ostriches. They drive me nuts, too, with their honking. Probably my only complaint about the game.

Anyway, I didn't try Ranch Rush in Expert Mode, but I did get all the way through the 8 weeks in Casual Mode.
Almost from the beginning, I used two barns, one for the top half and one for the bottom half.
This significantly cut the amount of back and forth jumping I had to do between screen views.
I'll have to figure out where to post a screen shot (that's such a clever feature!), but at the end I had:
2 barns
1 cheese machine
2 bread machines
2 ketchup machines (again, one top, one bottom)
2 jam machines
2 cows
2 sheep
4 ostriches
7 beehives
and basically a full 9 of all crops with a few extra tomatoes and clover
