QubeTown is one of our favourite games of the last year or so. Like a cuboid Animal Crossing, it gives you command of an adorable living community of characters and tasks you with building the place up and helping it thrive. What’s not to like?
And one week from now the world of QubeTown is getting a special event. Wedding Festival will run from the 9th to the 15th of May, and throughout that time you’ll be able to help the aptly named Bryde to prepare for her springtime nuptials.
That means producing Flower Macaroons, a Floral Crown, and a Wedding Cake. To acquire them you need to send your citizens on expeditions to collect bouquets. You’ll need to get your bakery, weaver’s mill, and cake shop on the case too, which naturally means supplying them with all the necessary raw materials. It’s all hands on deck
Once you’ve got everything together you’ll be rewarded with Rubies, along with Wedding Festival Landscapes. Plus, there’s a new costume to try out.
To participate in this event you’ll need to be at level 14 or above.
Going down to QubeTown
In case you’ve never dabbled in the wonderful world of QubeTown before, here’s the skinny: you play as a reluctant lord, whose efforts to escape are constantly thwarted by your needy subjects.
It’s a humorous setup to a rich and addictive gameplay loop that sees you harvesting crops, raising livestock, creating bakeries, dairies, and innumerable other businesses to process the produce you make, and steadily expanding your territory by felling the surrounding woods.
QubeTown is a dazzlingly huge game that will suck up months of your life. You need to trade, send your people out on various types of expedition, level-everything up, and so much more.
Despite its cute appearance, QubeTown is a deceptively demanding strategy game, and you’ll need to manage your resources and people smartly to keep the whole enterprise moving along.
