I remember the thrill of watching the The Price is Right when I was a kid and thinking to myself how cool it would be to win a trip to London or a new car (being a kid I didn't much care for a new set of furniture). I think part of the reason it was so enjoyable is that you play vicariously through the real contestants, envisioning yourself driving away in that brand new, shiny corvette. Wouldn't that be wonderful? The roar of the crowd, the barking of the announcer, the bells and whistles and whirs of the mini-games. . . everything comes together to produce compelling, TV entertainment, even in all its cheesiness. So, I had high expectations when I picked up the iPhone version of The Price is Right, and I have to admit my experience was a mixed bag of positive and negative impressions.
