Hi, noreen!! Thanks so much for the garden tips. When the chocolate first showed up in my inventory I didn't know what to do with it, lol. I just kept waiting for the plants to ask for it but they never did. I finally just tried to feed it to one and then the snail. I was happy to see how much the snail speeds up when he gets his chocolate fix, lol. I'd love to see your garden but the links you posted don't work. They're not blue either like the other ones you've posted in other threads. Thanks again!! :)

sorry about the links, i don't know why they didn't work. here they are again. i'd love to see your garden too, i've seen a lot of YouTube videos of what other player's zen garden looks like. i wish there was a trade feature where i could trade some of my plants with them, lol! for a while there i was also hoping i'd get a cattail for my aquarium, but since its an upgrade, i don't think i ever will, it'd be nice though. http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/8581/zengarden.jpg

my tree of wisom is now more than 700 feet tall, and once it has finished giving you all its "wisdom," everytime you feed it, it'll only display this message until you reach 100 feet (for the daisies easter egg), 500 & 1,000 feet:

As you can see I have several duplicates and only one spot left so I'm getting ready to sell off my duplicates to make room for more. I have a feeling you got some of those in the survival modes which I haven't gotten past but 8 or 9 flags. Do you remember how many flags you have to pass before earning the trophy in survival hard mode? Thanks! Have a great evening! :)

Well seems I've just answered my own question. I earned a trophy after passing 10 flags on survival hard night mode. Just in case any one else is wondering. I have all the upgrades now except the gold magnet, which isn't for defense so hopefully I can now get the other trophies. Happy gaming everyone!! :)

yep, got most of my plants from the survival modes (one time i got 3 plants in a row in survival hard fog), especially in survival endless. i've gotten some from adventure mode too as well as the mini-games. i've read somewhere that there's a "drop" timer for the plants, but not really sure cause i keep getting plants any time of the day. what i have noticed though is that if i keep on playing the same mode over & over, i don't get plants anymore, but if i play a level that i rarely repeat (like the fog), i'd get 2 plants almost immediately.
all the hard survival levels have 10 flags. you just need to finish one mode to unlock another mode. i remember that after i finished the survival day hard, the fog unlocked. i played night, got 9 flags and moved to pool (i hate the night & fog levels). when i passed the pool, the roof unlocked, but you have to finish all five modes for the survival endless to unlock.

that's great pinky! have you finished all the mini-games & puzzles? you don't need to play the survival endless to get the gold sunflower trophy. you just need to finish all the survival levels, mini-games & puzzles.
i'd recommend you use the gold magnet in survival endless though. you'll be getting wave after wave of zombies and there really just isn't enough time to pick up the suns, defend your pool & pick up the coins too. your gold magnet can pick up as much 5,000 in one level progress. think of all the money you can make!

Hi, noreen! I have one last mini game left to unlock. I unlocked Zombatany 2 last night but haven't played it yet. I've unlocked all the puzzle games but still need to earn the trophy on the two endless levels there. In survival mode I unlocked survival roof last night but haven't played it yet, and need the gold trophy on survival pool and fog hard mode. Then I will unlock the endless mode. Now that I have all the upgrades and the 10th slot the games are getting less difficult, lol. I hope to get more plants playing these I've listed. I think I was getting alot of duplicates from playing the same modes over and over again to earn quick cash. Yes, that would be neat if we could trade some plants, lol. Have a great day! :)

glad to hear you've bought all the upgrades!
now that you have 10 slots, you can use the gold magnet everytime you play, you can earn around 5,000 for the 10 flags of the survival hard levels. but the best way to earn 5,000 for every progress level is still in survival endless (10 flags can give you approximately 25,000). eventhough you've finished buying all the upgrades, there's still the zen garden to spend money on, lol!
what plants do you prefer? you can get any type of plants from survival endless, but all i've been getting are duplicates. i must have sold 3 dozen plants already.
sometimes i check my almanac to see what plants i've gotten (the chronological order) for each adventure level. for awhile there i kept playing the night mode hoping to get a magnet-shroom, only to realize that i can only get it from the fog level!
so now i prefer to play the day mode, i'm missing the chomper, repeater & sunflower. i don't play the night mode anymore (completed all the plants i'd ever get there).
i just love the zen garden, lol! happy gardening!

Thanks for sharing those pics, Noreen! The pinata one is really funny!!! And I'm glad to see what the tree looks like full grown. I quit spending money on mine when I realized I needed the upgrades much more. Now that I've bought everything else I can start to grow it again. Have fun and happy gaming!! :)

more tips:
shrooms & aquatic plants will only grow in the mushroom garden & aquarium, but once fully grown AND happy (if they're not happy, they'll be asleep),they can be moved back to the zen garden. they'll be awake & will give you coins too.

when do you unlock the zen garden? and where the zen garden is? is on main menu, minigame, puzzle?. I ask, because i finished the level 5-4, and i haven't unlocked the zen garden, i don't know where is it.

I don't remember when it gets unlocked, but you get there from the main menu. Just click the watering can that says "Zen Garden".

the walkthrough says the zen garden will unlock if you've finished level 5-4. but i couldn't really remember. as far as i can recall, i visited my zen garden in the middle of my adventure game when crazy dave gave me 2 marigolds.
has crazy dave given you the marigolds? if he hasn't, just follow tcarr9's directions to look for the zen garden.

unfortunately, nope, i had to feed my tree of wisdom 900 times to reach 1,000 feet. but i didn't do it all at once; everytime i can afford to buy 10 fertilizers, i buy it and feed it to the tree of wisdom immediately; that way, it won't get so repetitive & boring
how tall is your tree of wisdom by the way? my niece loves seeing the zombies dance (when your tree of wisdom is at 500 feet).

My Tree of Wisdom is 120 feet high at this time....I sold off most of my "killer" plants today (as opposed to the marigolds, which I buy and sell daily)....is there any reason I shoud keep my "gift" plants?

well, if you want to have a complete zen garden with all the plants (except the upgrade ones like the twin sunflower, gatling pea, cattail, etc), i suggest you only sell the duplicates. it took me forever to complete my zen garden because i sold most of my plants *sniff sniff* and i really regretted it
until now i've never gotten a duplicate kernel-pult

Dear noreen-6,
Is there some benefit to having a full Zen Garden? I was feeding them $1,000.00 flower-chow for some coins, and that did not seem cost-effective. At least I can use the money to feed that greedy tree. Also, has anyone ever seen and / or tried the cheats from "another site", such as Morticulturist and Spudow!, which actually help you kill zombies? I've tried some, but they never work. Please keep me informed.

there is no benefit to having a full zen garden with regards to the game itself; its more like a "collector's item" thing
and feeding more fertilizer to the tree of wisdom after it has given you its tips would not help you in the game too; since all you'll get are the easter eggs. and nope, i've never tried the cheats and i doubt very much if they'll work unless you hack the game.
"spudow!" is what appears when a potato mine takes out a zombie; just like the word "doom" appears when you use a doom shroom; another is the word "sproing" when the jack-in-the-box is about to explode.

Hello,
Does anyone know how to collect all 49 plants for the zen garden? I've been told that once you collect all 49 plants you unlock an achievement. I've collected 28 daytime plants (not including marigolds), 8 night time plants, and 3 water plants. that gives me a total of 39. I know there are 10 different colored marigolds you can buy which would bring the total to 49. The problem is, I have no where to put them!!! There aren't enough spaces in my daytime garden. Please help!

if you need funds, you can make a lot of money from your zen garden too without necessarily selling the plants. everyday, as soon as the clock strikes 12 midnight, all your plants will need watering & new marigolds will be available from crazy dave's shop. after you've finished watering your plants, they'll need something to keep them happy for the entire day (either a phonograph or bug spray; seems to be random). after all my plants are "happy," that's when i feed stinky the snail a chocolate. i noticed that the plants would spit out silver & gold coins a lot faster if i do this immediately. before, i'd tend my garden, play the game, & after several hours, i'd go back and leave it as sort of a screen saver so that the snail can collect coins for 1 hour. if you feed chocolates to your plants, it'd make them spit out coins a lot faster too, but i only use one chocolate per day, that way i'd have more chances of getting plants rather than chocolates (the game only allows you to have 10 chocolates (max) at a time, 20 fertilizers & bug spray, & 10 fertilizers for the tree of wisdom)
i also buy marigolds everyday & sell them back once i've profited enough coins since crazy dave only gives you 3,000 for them; & sometimes i sell them once fully grown so i can have new plants (if all the slots are full, you won't be getting any plants from the game).
all the plants need to be fertilized 3 times, if you sell them after the 1st fertilizer, crazy dave'll give you 3,000. after the 2nd, 5,000 & when fully grown, 8,000. for fully grown shrooms & aqua plants, crazy dave will give 10,000.
you know they're fully grown when they've given you diamonds instead of coins & they're happy when there are gold flecks around them.
in this screenshot, my zen garden is full & i started out with 17,250.00:

after 1 hour, stinky falls asleep again & i now have 32,610.00. i more or less make 15,000 daily on top of what i get from the survival levels. need the money to fertilize my tree of wisdom!

its now at 680 feet. if you're not after the easter eggs, don't fertilize them, its expensive! but my niece really wants to see the pinata easter egg, so i need to make $800,000 (25,000.00 for every 10 feet) more to reach that height! by the way, the walkthrough mixed up the height needed for the easter eggs, the dance easter egg was enabled at 500 feet & not at 1,000 feet.
