Stuck in Machine Island please help

I'm going nuts here, I can only pick up one piece of wood, the one on the right side I think, can't remembger where I picked it up since it's been a couple of days. LOL
I can't make the fire starter or use the peg with the 'carved wood' which I'm assuming that's the one I have. LOL
Please help.
