Hi Robertson..
Thanks for sharing this.. but I guess BFG just wanted to bring the so called B games again to gamer's attention at a more reasonable price.. Since there's a new game every day and you don't like this one... may be you do like the tomorrow's game.
I didn't buy this game cuz I don't like it.. but there are a lot of gamers thinking: O, why not it's cheap...I'll buy it now...
Good luck and Happy Gaming..

Hi, Robertson, I´ve played Mystery in London and found it well worth my time. I liked the atmosphere of the game and enjoyed the 360° feature. I didn´t like any other 360° feature games. This here stands out IMO for interesting story bits and locations.
Levendig, enjoy your bargain! LOL

I'm in the same boat - I tried the demo and wasn't 100% sure. For me, I don't mind risking it for games that are $.99, but at $2.99 and with a new one every day, it will add up if I don't like them.
I am going to get it, since I did enjoy it, but I'm going to start my game over and play it untimed. The timers are really tight on this game, especially considering the huge areas you need to search in, and I found myself overusing clues and skipping mini-games just so I wouldn't run out of time.
I don't mind decent timers, but when they're really tight, they are a pain. I prefer having times you have to beat like high scores or medals for fast times but that don't make you start over if you run out. At least the game does offer an untimed mode.
Plus I live in London, so I find it kind of funny to see which places they choose - other than Hamleys (which I didn't get to in the first hour), I haven't heard of any of the shops they've included, and I've been here 10 years.
I think if you're not sure after the first hour, and you don't want to waste time on the 'B' games, then this game isn't for you.

Hi Lilitu...
I fully agree with you concerning buying a game or not whatever the price is.. and great you're living in London huh?? I've been there several times and do love London!!

Well, I did end up buying it after the first rather rushed hour (skipping cutscenes, etc.). And I'm glad. My wife's family lives near London, so it's one we'll enjoy together. I love the interface after getting used to it. I think, for me at least, it is a game to be savored, not rushed. I'm playing in the "tourist" mode and see it as a long game, well worth the $2.99, and worth my time! I'd put it now in the "B+" or even "A-" category.
Thanks, all, for your input....that's two of these $2.99 games I've not purchased....

I decided to buy it and started over but untimed. Untimed, it's great - it has unlimited hints that take time to recharge, which is what I prefer to a limited number of hints.
London is great to visit, but it has good and bad things about living there. My husband's English, and he's lived here for years, so he really wants to move, but London's the best place for me to work in the UK (I work in digital media, i.e., web stuff).
Mystery in London is fun, but you can tell it's a very American idea of London - for instance, all the people you meet are white, pipe-smoking middle-aged Englishmen whereas the real London is very multicultural. I've never worked anywhere where I'm the only non-American, and even my current job has two other Americans and lots of people from all over, and there are only around 20 of us!
Plus I've never seen Picadilly Circus completely empty of people before, even in the middle of the night.

I agree lilitu93, I was just thinking today that $2.99 sounds good but if you buy a few or every day, it adds up fast.

Hi,
I also want to buy this game but my big fish toolbar isn't working, could anyone let me know the code to put in at checkout to get it for $2.99.
Thanks
Heather

I'm not sure if we're allowed to post the code, but usually you can get the toolbar to refresh if you close the browser and reopen it. (I'd send you a PM, but I can't figure out how to do that on this site.)
If you can't get it to work after that, it's really easy to guess if you've seen any of the other daily special codes like the one for Azada: Ancient Magic given on the Steals & Deals post on the home page of the site. In fact, guessing was how I figured out the code, since I'm on a Mac and can't install the toolbar.

Hi Lilitu...
Thanks for your London story.. Yes I can imagine it's multicultural just like here in the Netherlands ( Amsterdam f.i.).. By the way it's indeed not allowed to post couponcodes here...

Heartherlex: Do hope you'll manage to get the game and enjoy..
C U around and happy gaming...

Mystery in London - Worth $2.99?

I'm finding, btw, with these deals, that it isn't the $2.99 that's a factor in possibly getting a game as much as it is the time invested. At my advanced age
