Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst Tips

THE MAPS

Click here to view Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst - The Maps. This set of maps shows you how all of the rooms are connected in the game, and where to find the special tasks, puzzles, games and searchable locations. Special thanks to Jeff Zahn, aka "Zahnprod" for creating the maps.

BOOK

  • The book will give you clues as to where to look for certain things or what to do with them once you get them.
  • You can always flip through the book as much as you want so you can look through the clues.


HINTS

  • Whenever you enter a scene and you see an area that has a lot of sparkly lights, click on it because it is an area in which you need to look for hidden objects.
  • If you get stuck and don't know what to do, you can click on a hint and it will help you in two different ways:
  • In a scene in which you need to look for objects it will form a glowing circle in the area in which you can find one random item from the list. The item is usually in the center of the circle.
  • You can also use your hints with yout items that are in inventory. Simply open up your inventory panel and drag the item of your choice over to the hint tab at the bottom of the page. You will then see a picture of where the item needs to go to.
  • The hint button refreshes itself after a while but how long it takes can sometimes depend on you. If you're looking for hidden objects in a scene, your hint button will reload faster if you find several items in a row quickly.


CHAPTER 1

OPENING SCENE

  • Click on the bushes that are on the left side, look for the list of hidden objects.

WRENCH-Inventory Items

  • Pick up the wrench that is on the top right side of the scene, it is partially sticking out of the mailbox.
  • Once you're done with the list you will be given a wrench.
  • Use the wrench once you exit that scene.


INTERCOM-WRENCH USAGE

  • On the left side, you will see an intercom, click on it and you will see a closer view. Use the wrench to take the 4 screws off the panel.
  • Click on the bottom of the page and you will see that the inventory box will come up.
  • Click on the wrench and place it over each screw on the panel.
  • The screws will fall to the ground one by one.


WIRES

  • Once the panel is open, you will notice 4 wires at the bottom. If you look carefully you will see some numbers scribbled above it.
  • You need to place those wires over the holes that are on top.
  • If you look at the holes on top you will see that they have numbers on top and on on the side.
  • There are numbers 1 through five across the top row and you will see 1 through 4 going down the first column.
  • You must connect the numbers in the following manner:
  • The first number represents the rows
  • The second number represents the columns.
  • The  first wire says "2,2" place the wire where the 2ND column and the 2ND row connects.
  • If the second one says "4,1", place the wire where the 4Th column (on top) and the 1st row connect.
  • Please look at the screenshot for the solution.
  • Once the wires are properly connected, ring the red button and a key will fall out.
  • Click on the key and close the panel by clicking outside of the box.


GATE-KEY USAGE

  • Click on the gate to get a closer view.
  • Click on the inventory box and place the key on the lock. The gate will open and Emma Ravenhearst will speak to you.
  • You will notice that the book on the lower left side opens up. Click on the book to read what is inside.


DOOR-TYPEWRITER LETTER "V" CLUE

  • Go through the gate, DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE WELL since you will not use it until much later, go towards the door.
  • Click on the door and you will get a closer view, look for the items on the list.
  • In this scene you will find a typewriter key with the letter "V" on it.
  • As you exit the scene, go towards your left side of the porch.


BRICK-Inventory Item

  • Once you go towards the left side of the door, click on the open trunk that is on the ground.
  • Look for the list of hidden objects.
  • The brick is located on the top right side, on the edge of the railing.


BRICK ON THE WINDOW

  • Once you find the brick, go towards your right 2 times. On the first right you will pass the scene in which you saw the door.
  • In the next scene you will come across a window.
  • Click on your inventory and grab the brick. The brick goes on the window. You have to click on the window 3 TIMES in order to break the glass.
  • Click on the window so you can enter the living room.



CROWBAR-Inventory Item

  • Once you enter the living room with the fireplace you will see the crowbar. It is under the chair that is on the left side, click on it to make it go into inventory.
  • Go back outside by placing your cursor at the bottom of the page.
  • Go back where you came from by going left 2 times. From that scene, point your cursor down.
  • Once you're outside, place your cursor on the left side of the page.



EYEBALL # 1-CROWBAR ON LOOSE BOARD

  • You access this scene by placing your cursor on the left side of the page.
  • Click on the floor part that is under the window and you will get a closer view.
  • Open your inventory box and grab the crowbar. Place it on the loose board.
  • When the floor opens up there will be an eye inside, click on it and pick it up.



LADDER-Inventory Item

  • Go back to the scene where you threw the brick through the window and you will see a ladder on the right side.
  • Click on the ladder and it will go into inventory.
  • Go back to the scene that has the boarded door.


LADDER PLACEMENT

  • Place the ladder on the right side of the door and it will attach itself to the side of the house.


EYEBALL #2

  • Once the ladder is in place,click on the nest that is above the ladder.
  • When you click on the nest yotu will get a closer view, pick up the eyeball that is inside.


EYEBALL #3

  • From the porch, go to the right side two times and you will be in a garden with two statues.
  • Click on the Statue of the man that is on the left side of the page and search for the list of items.
  • The eyeball will be in the center of the scene.


EYEBALL PLACEMENT

  • Go back through the broken window and click on the door that is in the back of the scene and you will get a closer view.
  • Place the eyeballs on the empty sockets that are on the page.
  • After the eyeballs are placed pull on all 4 of the levers one by one until they are completely turned.
  • Each time you turn the handle you will notice that the image in the middle become clearer.
  • Once the eye in the middle is fully visible, the door will open.


CHEESE WEDGE/ KITCHEN

  • While you're in the kitchen, you will see that the cupboard in the back of the scene is sparkling, click on it to look for the hidden objects.
  • The cheese is located on the top right side of the scene.


LAWN SHEARS-Inventory Item

KITCHEN-Skeleton Drawing

 

  • While you're in the kitchen click on the cabinet that is under the window and it will open up.
  • Grab the LAWN SHEARS  that are on the side of the cabinet.
  • On the top left side, there is a piece of paper on the wall, click on the paper and it will move to the side, revealing a strange carving on the wall.
  • The book will open up and show you a similar carving.


CHEESE PLACEMENT/ MOUSE

  • Once you get the piece of cheese, go back outside through the window and you will see a small hole on the lower right side of the scene.
  • Place the piece of cheese on the hole and the mouse will come out to eat it.
  • Click on the mouse and it will go into inventory.


CAT AND MOUSE/KEY

  • Click on the bottom of the scene and to go back to the front door.
  • On the steps you will see a cat, click on the cat to get a closer view.
  • You will see that the cat is stepping on a key.
  • Give the cat the mouse and it will release the key.Click on the key to pick it up.


USING THE KEY IN THE KITCHEN

  • Go back to the kitchen and you will see a stove with a lock around it.
  • Click on the lock and you will get a closer view.
  • Take the key from inventory and place it on the lock, the stove door will open, grab the shabby glove that is inside.


ROSE/HANGING BASKET

  • When you go to the left side of the porch, you will see a basket hanging, click on it to get a closer view.
  • Open the inventory box and place the lawn shears on the rose and it will cut it.
  • Then take the shabby gloves and place it on the rose so you can pick it up.


HORN

  • Go back to the garden with the statues and click on the male statue, search for the list of objects.
  • The horn is on the lower right side of the scene.


BLACK ROSE/ FEMALE STATUE/MOON SYMBOL

  • Once you're in the garden with the 2 statues, click on the female statue.
  • When you click on the moon symbol that is around her neck, she will turn around and speak to you.
  • Hand her the rose and the moon around her neck will start to glow, grab the moon and it will go into inventory.


SKELETON DOOR PUZZLE

  • While you're in the garden, click on the front door and you will see a skeleton that looks like the drawing on the kitchen wall.
  • You have to click on each limb until it forms the correct diagram that will let you in the door.
  • Keep in mind that the left arm has to go below the left leg.
  • Please look at the screenshot for the correct way to position the skeleton.


PICK AXE-Inventory Item, Graveyard

  • Once you enter through the door, you will get to a garden. Skip over the garden by placing your cursor on top of the page,
  • When you get to the Graveyard, click on the stones that are on the left side of the page. Search for hidden clues.
  • The pick axe is on the lower right side of the page, it's partially hidden.


GRAVEYARD-LAWN SHEAR USAGE # 2

  • After you searched for the hidden clues, you'll see some lights sparkling on the right side of the scene.
  • Open your inventory box and click on the lawn shears and click them onto the tree 3 times to reveal the puzzle.


GRAVEYARD MINI GAME

  • In this mini game you have to click on each circle for it to move.
  • There has to be a connecting line between the unbroken bulbs, the crow and the lines in the center.
  • Please look at the screenshot for the solution.

SUN SYMBOL-Inventory Item

  • Once all the lines are in place, the center will open up, revealing the sun symbol, click on it and it will go into inventory.

DAMP CLOTH-Inventory Item

  • Go back in the kitchen and click on the cabinets, search for items. The damp cloth is located in the lower right corner of the scene.


FIREPLACE PUZZLE

  • Go back to the living room and click on the puzzle that is on top of the fireplace.
  • When you open it up, you will see a lot of symbols on the left and on the right.
  • You only need 2 symbols placed on the slots that are on each side.
  • On the right side you want to place what looks like the number 76.
  • On the left you want to place the symbol that looks like a swirl with a dot on top.
  • Then go into your inventory box and place the moon symbol on the right side.
  • On the left side, place the sun symbol.
  • Pull on the lever and the fireplace will disappear revealing a secret passageway.


BASEMENT 

  • When you get to the basement Rose Sommerset will tell you that her and her daughters were taken away a long time ago. She wants you to unlock the doors and find her children.
  • Click on the back of the scene to enter the room with the 3 doors.


DOOR ROOM

  • When you enter the new scene, you will be confronted with three doors.
  • You can't do the puzzle on the left side yet because you need to find all the marbles in order to solve that puzzle.
  • Click on the door that is in the back of the room.


MIDDLE DOOR PUZZLE

  • Click on the white switch that is on the lower left side and it will activate the mechanism.
  • You will see some numbers flashing on the screen. You have to do the math and come up with the correct answer.
  • Click on the switches next to each number so that 2 lights on the same row are lit.
  • As you see the number show up on each row, do the math, either add or subtract.
  • Look on the top right side and you will see an arrow that points to certain colors.
  • Move the arrow to the color you want to change, you will notice around the board that there are colored dots with a space for 2 numbers next to it. Each time you enter a number, those dials will change.
  • This solution may be random but I posted the results that came up during my level.
  • Top row (pink  lights) 27+24=51
  • Second row (green lights) 6-1=5
  • Third Row (orange light)71+09= 80
  • Bottom Row (light blue light) 63-32= 31
  • The doors will open automatically once you enter all the numbers correctly.


STOREFRONTS-LONG STICK-Inventory Item

  • From the main scene of the stores,outside of the General Store,click on the billboard that is on the left side of the page and you will be able to read what it says.
  • Click on the left side where you see the sparkly lights and search for the hidden objects.
  • The long stick will be on the lower right side. You will be able to use the long stick later on in the game.


ROSE'S BEAUTY PARLOR

  • To get to the beauty parlor, click on the back of the scene and you will be by the beauty shop.
  • On the left side of the page, you will see a page sitting against the wall. It is a poster that tells you about the missing daughters.
  • When you get to the front of the beauty parlor, there will be a lock on the door, click on it to get a closer view.


BEAUTY PARLOR LOCK

  • Your objective in this game is to move the blocks around until you the blocks in the box match the color of the block that is on top of the page.
  • To move the blocks around simply click on them.
  • To make the blocks move where you want them to go, just click on the side of the blocks.
  • To go down, click the bottom of the block.
  • To go up, click the top side of the block.
  • To go left or right, simply click on the side that you want it to go on.
  • You cannot move blocks in the locations that have the flowers on them.
  • As each column is correct, the light above it will flash.
  • Once all three lights are lit,click on the lever that is on the right side and  you will be able to open the door.


INSIDE BEAUTY PARLOR-1ST FLOOR

  • Once you're inside the beauty parlor click on the screen that is in the back of the room.
  • Click on the letter that is in the hand of the mannequin and you will be able to read the message.


RED MARBLE #1

  • Once inside the beauty parlor, click on the screen in the back of the room and look for the hidden items.
  • The red marble is on the lower left side of the scene.


STEPS AND BANISTER

  • Once inside the beauty parlor click in the back of the room and you will see a stairway, click on the back of the room and you will see some steps.
  • Click on the knobs of the banister and they will twist around and a picture will be revealed up the steps.


BEDROOM/TYPEWRITER KEY "C"

  • When you click on the top right side of the steps you will be able to go upstairs to the bedroom. Click under the bed to look for hidden objects.
  • The typewriter letter "C" will be on the lower left side,


BALL PUZZLE (Video Solution Coming Soon!)

  • Once you're done with the items under the bed, click on the door that is on the right side and a puzzle will appear.
  • Your goal in this game is to make the ball fall in the hole that is on the board.
  • Click on the handles that are on each side of the puzzle to manipulate the ball the way you want it to go.
  • The handle on the right makes the puzzle go clockwise.
  • The handle on the left makes the puzzle go counterclockwise.
  • Make the wrong move and you will have to start over.
  • These steps may not be for everyone but they should work for some, "R" is for right and "L" is for left.
  • R-R-L-L-L-R-R-R-L-R
  • Once you complete that sequence go through the door.


BATHROOM/METAL LEVER-Inventory Item

  • Click on the shower curtain and a mannequin will appear.
  • Click on it again and you will get a closer view of the shower curtain.
  • The metal lever will be at the bottom right side of the floor.
  • Go back outside for now.


PICK AXE-USAGE

  • Once you're outside of the Beauty Parlor, click on the right side of the scene and you will see a closer view of some rocks.
  • From your inventory click on the pick axe and place it on the rocks 3 times and you will see some letters appear once the rock has been chipped away.
  • It's a letter from Emma's sister Maddy. The letter will be placed in the book.


SHOVEL-Inventory Item

  • Outside of the beauty parlor you will find a shovel on the side of the building, click on it to pick it up.


SHOVEL USAGE

  • Go back through the skeleton door into the garden with the angel statue and the water fountain.
  • You will see an "X" on the ground, place your shovel from inventory on the ground and click on it twice and you will find the missing piece of the picture.
  • Go back through the skeleton door where the 2 statues are and click on the male statue.


SCREWDRIVER-Inventory Item

  • In the garden with the 2 statues, click on the male statue and search for the items.
  • The screwdriver is on the lower right side.


TORN CANVAS-USAGE

  • Go back to the beauty parlor and up the steps, click on the picture of the twins and you will get a closer view.
  • Place the torn canvas on top of the picture and you will see a pattern of colored marbles.
  • You will need to remember the pattern for the puzzle that is on the door on the left. You will not be able to solve that puzzle until you've found all 4 red marbles.


RED MARBLE #2-General Store

  • When you're outside of the Beauty parlor, click on the right side of the scene where the General Store is.
  • Click on the left side of the scene to look for objects.The red marble is on the lower center of the scene, at the base of the red apparatus.


MARBLE #3-Lucky 15-Cash Register

  • Click on the cash register that is on the right side of the scene and you will see a close-up view of it.
  • Your goal is to arrange the numbers so that all rows and columns add up to 15.
  • Place the numbers in the following order
  • Top Row- 4 3 8
  • Middle Row- 9 5 1
  • Bottom Row- 2 7 6
  • Once the drawer is open, the cash register drawer will open up. Inside the drawer there is a four digit code "5392"
  • Use that code on the electrical panel.
  • Click on the red marble that is on top of the piece of paper.


ELECTRICAL PANEL

  • Click on the panel that is on the far left side of the scene and you will find an electrical panel.
  • Click on it to get a closer view.
  • There are 3 buttons on the panel.
  • The yellow one moves the numbers.
  • The green one moves the pointer.
  • The red one is used to enter the code.
  • Change the numbers so they read "5392" and then press the red button.
  • The panel will open up.


ELEVATOR-METAL LEVER PLACEMENT

  • On the lower left side of the elevator, you will see a round object with a hole in the center, click on it to get a closer view.
  • Take the metal  lever from inventory and place it on the hole.
  • Click on the lever once it is in place and you'll be able to access some other floors.


SEWER/GOLD KEY-Inventory Items

  • Once you enter the sewer, click in the back of the scene and look for the objects.
  • The gold key is on the right side of the boat, close to the barrel.
  • This gold key does not belong to the panel that is on the right side of the elevator, it belongs the bathroom that is in the beauty Parlor.


GOLD KEY USAGE

  • Bathroom  Cabinet-Beauty Parlor
  • Click on the cabinet that is on the right side of the scene and you will get a closer view.
  • Place the gold key from inventory on the keyhole and the cabinet will open.
RUST REMOVER-Inventory Item
  • Once you enter the medicine cabinet in the bathroom, grab  the rust remover that is in the cabinet,the cabinet door will close automatically.
  • Search for items in the bathtub.


ELECTRICAL TAPE-Inventory Item

  • Bathtub inside the Beauty Parlor
  • Once you leave the medicine cabinet, you will notice that the bathtub will sparkle again, click on it to search for items.
  • Th electrical tape is on the left side of the bathtub, pick it up.
  • Go back to the elevator section.


TYPEWRITER KEY "T"/ SEWER

  • When you get back to the sewer area you will notice that the boat that in in the water will start to sparkle, click on it to search for clues.
  • The  "T" typewriter key is in front of the lifesaver that is on the boat.


SEWER GRID

  • Place the rust remover on the screws that are around the grid. Click the rust remover onto each screw one by one until all the rust is removed.
  • Take the wrench and place it over each screw as well, until you've removed all of them.


BAT CAVE-HORN USAGE

  • Once you enter the grid tunnel, you will be in a cave.
  • Use the horn that is in your inventory and click it in the middle of the scene. Once the trumpet sounds, the bats will wake up and fly away.
  • Click in the back of the scene to access the coffin.


COFFIN

  • Once all the bats have flown away, click on the right side of the scene and you will enter a room with the remains of Rose Sommerset  in a coffin.
  • Click on the apparatus that is on the lower right side of the coffin and a mini game will appear.


LOVE CONNECTOR MINI-GAME

  • Click on the screen and the boxes with colored rings will move around the scene.
  • Your objective is to place those boxes on the small circles that appear throughout the puzzle.
  • To move the squares just click on the arrows that are on each side.
  • You may want to place the orange one first since you need to use the other colored blocks to help you block the way so that the square piece falls where it is supposed to.
  • Once the puzzle is complete Rose will get up from the coffin.
  • You can choose to skip this puzzle if you wish to.


RED MARBLE #4

  • Once the puzzle is solved, click on the coffin and you will get a closer view.
  • Grab the red marble that is on the pillow.


MARBLE PUZZLE-LEFT DOOR

  • GO BACK TO THE SCENE WITH THE 4 DOORS.
  • Click on the LEFT door and a marble puzzle will appear.
  • Place the 4 red marbles on the empty slots.
  • Your goal is to move all the yellow marbles to the top positions and the blue marbles to the bottom.
  • The red marbles have to be in the middle.
  • Use the levers on the side to move the balls around.
  • The lever on the left controls the top circle.
  • The lever on the right controls the bottom circle.
  • Go Into the Toy store area once the puzzle is completed.
  • You can choose to skip this puzzle if you wish.


HAMMER-Inventory Item

  • Enter the toy store and click on the glass display that is sparkling in the scene and search for the list of objects.
  • The hammer is on the right side of the table.
  • You will use this hammer to open the drawer in the beauty parlor bedroom.


OLD FUSE-Inventory Item

  • From the first floor of the Toy Store, click on the glass case that is on the lower right side.
  • The old fuse is on the edge of the round top that is above the wooden horse.
  • The old fuse belongs in the fuse box that is in the General Store.


FUNNEL-Inventory Items

  • From the main scene of the toy store and the schoolhouse (OUTSIDE), click on the horse that is on the right side.
  • Pick up the funnel that is on the top left side of the scene, it's a bit off the page.


WHACK-A-TROLL-GET THE COIN

 

  • Click on the center of the scene and you will see a lot of little trolls come up. You have to click on enough of them for you to accumulate 100 points in a short amount of time.
  • Make sure that you do not hit the red trolls or you will lose some points each time.
  • Once you reach the goal, there will be a coin in the mouth of the large yellow troll that is in the back of the room, pick it up.
  • Go to the telescope area.


TELESCOPE-COIN USAGE

  • Go back through the elevator and go to the rights side, where you see the telescope.
  • Click on the red button of the small structure that is next to the telescope and a small piece will rise up out of it.
  • Click on the piece to get a closer view. You will see that there is a coin slot on it.
  • Take the old coin from inventory and place it in the slot.
  • Click ob the eyepiece of the telescope and you will see the viewfinder appear.
  • Click on the rotating circles until you can see a buoy appear clearly in the viewfinder.
  • Once the picture is clear, your book will open showing the markings/numbers  that are on the buoy.


Beauty Salon-TYPEWRITER KEY  "M"

  • You will see that the screen is flashing again, click on it to search for hidden items.
  • Top left side of the wall, it's hanging from the wall, on the lamp.


BEDROOM-HAMMER USAGE

  • Go back up to the bedroom and click on the drawer that is by the window and you will get a close-up view.
  • Take the hammer from inventory and place it on the nails that are on the drawer.
  • Place and click the hammer over all 4 nails and the drawer will open.
PAINT REMOVER-Inventory Item
  • Once all the screws have been taken off, click on the drawer to open it, grab the paint remover from inside the drawer.
  • Go back to General Store.


GENERAL STORE/ TYPEWRITER KEY "X"

  • Click on the left side of the wall and search for the hidden objects.
  • The typewriter letter "X" will be on the lower left side, in front of the yellow scale.
  • Please note that the letter "X"may look like a "V" or a "Y" to some people. I thought it was the letter "Y" at first.


OLD FUSE USAGE

  • LIGHTS FOR THE SCHOOL
  • Click on the fuse box that is on the left side of the back wall.
  • Place the fuse that you have in inventory on the slot that says "School" and it will turn the lights on for the school.
  • Go back to the Schoolhouse/ Toy area and enter the school.

BUG REPELLENT-Inventory Item
  • When you go to the school, you will see that the lights are now on.
  • Click on the desk and look for the bug repellent. The can of bug spray is on the top left edge of the scene, behind the creepy head.

PAINT REMOVER USAGE
  • Schoolhouse/Chalkboard
  • Click on the chalkboard to get a closer view. Take the paint remover from inventory and click it onto the board 4 times so you can see the equation all over the board.
  • The image of the chalkboard will go into the book.

DOOR KNOB-Inventory Item
  • Toy Store First Floor
  • Click on the glass case with the dolls inside of it.
  • The door knob is on the lower right corner, in front of the red horse, it's very hard to see.

TELEPHONE-BUG REPELLENT USAGE
  • From the Toy Store, click on the telephone that is on the wall and you will see a lot of bugs on the scene.
  • Take the bug repellent from inventory and spray each bug until they have all disappeared.
  • Once all the bugs are gone you will see the phone wire puzzle appear.

PHONE PUZZLE

  • In this puzzle you must click on the bulbs until all wires are connected and all the bulbs are lit.
  • The bulbs that don't have numbers to them are the ones that light up on their own after you've connected certain ones.
  • Please look at the screenshot for the solution.

GINGERBREAD HOUSE
  • To get to the Gingerbread House you have to click on the right side of the Schoolhouse.
  • Click on the mailbox that is in front of the house and it will open up.
  • You will see a newspaper clipping that will be added to your book.
  • Click on the billboard that is on the left side of the page and you will read some rules and regulations.

GINGERBREAD HOUSE PUZZLE
  • Click on the front door of the Gingerbread House and you will see a puzzle with some circles and images on them.
  • Just a fun tip, when you move your cursor around, the eyes will move around to follow it.
  • There are 4 buttons on the left side of the page, each button has a different function.
  • I tried to see if there was a logic to the buttons but they would act differently each time.
  • You can always skip the puzzle if you have a hard time manipulating the buttons.
  • Your goal should be to align the picture with the little girl facing up and the logo at the bottom.
  • Once the puzzle is complete, click on the door to enter.

POT HOLDER-Inventory Item

  • Click on the table where the dolls are seated and search for the hidden items.
  • The potholder is on the lower center of the scene, it's very colorful and easy to see.
  • Just a fun tip, if you click on the mouth of the large doll on the left side, a spider will come out of her mouth.

TWINS APPEARANCE
  • Go upstairs in the Gingerbread House and you will see the ghosts of the twin girls appear, they will tell you to be mindful of their father. As entry will go into the book.

ELECTRICAL TAPE USAGE/ ROPE-Inventory Item

  • On the second floor of the gingerbread house you will see a panel that is sparkling, click on it to get a closer view.
  • From your inventory box click on the electrical tape and place it over the 2 loose wires and it will mend both wires.
  • Click on the red button and a rope will appear, click on the rope.

MEMORY PUZZLE

  • Second floor-Gingerbread House.
  • Click on the back door and a puzzle will appear.
  • This is a memory game, click on 2 tiles to reveal what is behind them.
  • Your goal is to match all the like pairs.
  • Once in a while the pieces will shuffle themselves, making it harder to remember where the pieces are. The tiles usually reshuffle themselves after you failed to make some matches.
  • You can choose to skip this puzzle if you like.
  • Once the puzzle is complete the door will open, enter it.


TYPEWRITER KEY "S"

  • Once you enter the bedroom click on the little dollhouse that is in the back of the scene.
  • The typewriter key is on the lower center of the scene, close to the steps.

DRAWING

  • In the back right side of the scene there is a drawing on the wall, click on it and it will be added to your book.

DOOR KNOB USAGE-Gingerbread House

  • Click on the back door of the bedroom in the Gingerbread House and you will see a closer view of the door.
  • Take the door knob from inventory and place it over the holes.

STORAGE-GINGERBREAD HOUSE

  • Click on the lower center of the wall, underneath the boxes (flower picture) and a hole will appear on the wall.
  • A piece of paper with the numbers "727 5153" appear behind the poster as it falls to the ground.
  • Go back to the toy store and go to the second floor.

TELEPHONE NUMBER

  • Go to the second floor of the toy store, click on the telephone that is on the back wall, left side and a pop-up window will appear.
  • Click on the hook that is on the side of the phone and you will hear a dial tone.
  • Then you must dial the number that was in back of your flower poster, mine was "727 5153"
  • The door behind the phone will open up, enter it.

  • Please note that the phone number may vary for everyone. Please make sure that you check the number that is on the back of YOUR  flower poster before you dial the phone number.

BUCKET

  • The bucket is located on the second floor of the toy store but the phone number has to be entered into the phone before you can access that room.
  • Take the long stick from inventory and place it on the bucket that is on the ceiling, the bucket will move slightly.
  • Go back to the very beginning, where the well was when you entered the front gate to the manor.

WELL

  • Click on the handle of the well 3 times and the bucket will rise to the top.
  • Pick up the rusty knife that is inside.
  • Go back to the schoolhouse/ toy store area.

SCHOOLHOUSE ETCHING
  • Go back to the schoolhouse and click on the left side of the building.
  • You will see the number 600 degrees carved on the side of it.This number may vary since I've seen some people report seeing 550 degrees instead.

FURNACE
  • Toy Store-First floor
  • Click on the stove that is on the first floor of the toy store and you will get a closer view.
  • There is a knob on the side of the furnace and a temperature gauge.
  • The top knob moves the gauge up and bottom knob moves the gauge down
  • Turn the knob with your potholder from inventory until the thermometer is at 600 degrees.
  • Once the temperature is at the same degree as the etching on the side of the schoolhouse, you will see a pattern above the stove. You want to copy that pattern on the outside of the schoolhouse.
  • Since there is more than one pattern, I placed screenshots for the results that I was able to find.

SCHOOLHOUSE FIRE PATTERN

  • Go back to the side of the schoolhouse and enter the fire pattern that you received from the furnace.(Please look at the screenshots above)
  • Once the right pattern has been entered, click on the button and the doors will open.

MACHINE BELT USAGE

  • Click on the side of the Schoolhouse.
  • Place the machine belt on the sharpening stone, then click on the wheel to get it moving.
  • Place the rusty knife that you received from the well and place it on the stone. Once the knife is sharpened it will go back into inventory.
  • Go back to the toy store.

KNIFE USAGE-TEDDY BEAR

  • Go to the attic in the toy store and click on the teddy bear that is chained on the wall.
  • Place the knife on the bear 3 times and you will see some matches appear, grab the matches.

EMPTY JAR
  • Go back to the Gingerbread House and click on the table, look for hidden items.
  • The empty jar is on the right edge of the scene, on the table, close to the candle holder.

EMPTY JAR USAGE - Schoolhouse Side
  • Go back to the side of the schoolhouse and place the empty jar under the barrel of petrol that is on the right side.
  • Once the jar is full it will go into inventory.

ROPE USAGE
  • Go to the toy store, second floor, door behind the phone.
  • Place the rope on the ring that is sticking out of the ground.
  • The rope will tie itself to the hole in the wall.
  • Click on the ring and you will enter a new scene, the bottom of the well.

BOTTOM OF THE WELL-MINI GAME

  • Click on the door  and a puzzle will appear.
  • Start by clicking on any symbol and you will see some of the ghost on the sides appear with signs on them as well.
  • There will also be people appearing on top holding signs.
  • You have to click on the symbols that appear on the people on the main puzzle.
  • If you take too long and miss 4 of the signs, you will have to start over.
  • Once the puzzle is complete the door will open.

BOTTOM OF THE WELL INSIDE DOOR

  • When you first enter the scene, it is dark,click on the bowl that is on the left side and you will get a closer view.
  • Place the matches on the bowl and the lights will come on revealing 3 gargoyles, each holding a wooden board with some puzzles on it.
  • Your goal in this puzzle is to trace a straight line on all the lines on the board. The key is that you cannot trace over a duplicate area.
  • Click on the hole that you want the blue gem to go into and the gem will fall in that hole. Once you've clicked on a second hole a line will be traced.
  • You can click on any hole on the board to begin the game. You can click on a hole more than once as long as you do not trace a line in the same place twice.
  • Once each puzzle is completed a gargoyle will go into the ground.

PUZZLE ON THE LEFT

  • Click on the gargoyle that is on the left and you will get a closer view of his puzzle.
  • Please look at the screenshots for the right pattern.

PUZZLE IN THE CENTER

TWINS  
  • Once all the puzzles are completed, a huge gargoyle will emerge from the center holding a casket.
  • Click on the casket and the twins will appear and will tell you that their  "VICTOR'' is as evil as their father.
  • Exit out of the well by pulling on the rope once you go out the door.
  • Go to the first level of the toy store and click on the glass case that is shining.
TYPEWRITER KEY-LETTER "R"
  • Click on the glass case of the toy store and look for the hidden objects.
  • The typewriter letter "R" is in between all the dolls. top left side. It is a round key that is next to the doll that has a blue ribbon in her hair that matches her blue dress.

RIGHT DOOR-TYPEWRITER KEYS
  • Go back to the location with all the 3 doors and click on the door that is on the right side.
  • When you enter the scene you will see a typewriter that has 7 keys missing from it.
  • If you do not have all the keys, you will not be able to complete this puzzle. Please look at the walkthrough and look for the keys that you need.
  • Take all the keys that you have in inventory and place them on the typewriter. The keys will automatically fall into the right place.
  • Once all the keys are in place, type in the name "VICTOR'' on the typewriter keys and the name Victor will appear on the page above.
  • Once you see the message that tells you to proceed, the door will open up.
  • Click on the door to go through it.

PUTTY KNIFE-Inventory Item
  • Once you enter the door on the right, click  on top of the trolley, where you see the sparkly lights.
  • The putty knife is on the lower right side of the page.

SCREWDRIVER/ FUNNEL AND JAR OF FUEL-USAGE
  • While in the trolley location, click on the fuel panel that is in the back of the trolley and you will get a closer view.
  • Take the screwdriver from inventory and place it over the fuel panel and it will open up.
  • Place the funnel in the gas tank and then place the jar of fuel on the funnel.
  • The door to the trolley will open up, it is on the front of the trolley, click on it to enter.

INSIDE THE TROLLEY
  • Once you're inside the trolley, click on the window that is on the right side of the scene and you will get a closer view of the fuel gauge. Click on the gauge and the train will start moving.
  • Once the trolley stops moving, go outside to the beach.

SPARE KEY-BEACH-Inventory Item
  • Once you're out on the beach, click on the boat that is outside and search for the hidden objects.
  • The spare key is on the lower right side, against the rocks.
PUTTY KNIFE USAGE

  • Click on the steps that are on the right side of the scene.
  • You will see some steps that look like something is covering them.
  • Take the putty knife from inventory and place it on the steps, click it until the Raven's heads are visible.
  • If you look in the book, you will see some red circles around certain Raven's that were on the steps.
  • Go up the steps.

AS THE CROW FLIES-MINI GAME

  • The goal in this game is to position the crows in the same order that you saw on the steps.
  • Click on each tile and it will move in the direction that the beak is facing.
  • This solution may be different for everybody but here's the solution that I received.
  • R= Facing to the right
  • U=Facing Upwards.
  • L-Facing Left
  • D=Facing Downwards.

  • You can always click back and look at the positions on your steps to make sure that you are doing it correctly.
  • Once the puzzle is correct, a stone bridge will gap the space between the steps.
  • Go upstairs.

COTTAGE

  • Click on the door of the cottage and you will see a lock. Take your spare key from inventory and place it on the lock.
  • When you enter the house there will be a man sitting in front of the fireplace. Once the old man (Victor) is done yelling at you,you'll see a new scene with a baby carriage.
  • Click on the baby carriage and search for the hidden objects.


BOBBY PIN-Inventory Item

  • Once you click on the baby carriage inside the cottage, you can find the bobby pin in front of the open trunk.

BOBBY PIN USAGE

  • Once you're done with the baby carriage, click on the right side of the floor and you will see a trapdoor with a lock on it.
  • Use the bobby pin on the lock and when it opens up you can click on the trapdoor to go into another location.

FILM REEL-Inventory Items-LIBRARY

  • When you enter the trapdoor, click on the right side of the page and you will enter the library.
  • The film reel is on the lower right side, just above the "hint" button.

METAL DIAL-Inventory Item

  • Once you're done with looking for items in the library, click on the metal dial that is on the book that is sitting on the table.
  • The metal dial will go into inventory.

FILM REEL AND METAL KNOB PLACEMENT
THEATER

  • When you're in the room with the hallway, click on the left of the scene and you will be inside of a theater.
  • Place the metal knob on the right side, where it says "on" and "off",
  • Place the film reel on top of the projector and you will see the old man on the screen.
  • You need the order in which the books are arranged. If you wait long enough, Victor will move away  and let you have a clear view.
  • Go back to the library.

VICTOR'S BOOKS-LARGE AXE-Inventory Item

  • Click on the skull that is on the table and you will be taken to a set of books on some shelves.
  • You have to arrange the books in the same order in which they were in the film.
  • Once the puzzle is complete, you will be taken back to the library.
  • In the library there's a large axe in the back right side of the scene, click on it and it will go into inventory.
  • Go back to the baby carriage by clicking on the candle on the wall that is in the hallway.

PHONOGRAPH RECORD-Inventory Item
  • Baby Carriage
  • To access the baby carriage, click on the candle that is on the right side of the wall in the hallway (outside of the theater and the library)
  • The phonograph record is on the lower right edge of the scene.
  • Go back to the library.

PHONOGRAPH RECORD PLACEMENT
  • On the right side of the library there is phonograph, click on it to get a closer view.
  • Place the record on the phonograph and it will start to play.
  • Go back to the theater.

LARGE AXE PLACEMENT

  • Take the large axe and place it on the boarded window that is on the left side. Click on the board 6 times to gain access to the outside.

BACK TO VICTOR'S COTTAGE

  • The book opens up when you get outside.
  • When you get outside click on the right side of the page and you'll be back in front of the manor.
  • Go back to the open window of the manor and find your way back to the trolley by going inside the Red Door that is on the right side.
  • Hop inside the trolley and click on the handle that is on the right side of the train.
  • Once the trolley stops you'll be at the beach.
  • Go up the steps on the left side until you reach the cottage.
  • On the outside of the cottage, click on the door that is all the way to the right and you'll see a puzzle appear.

DOMINO PUZZLE (Screenshot coming Soon!)
  • In this mini game you must click on all the matching pairs of domino's.
  • You have to click on two numbers that match the numbers of the black domino's that are on the outside of the main puzzle.
  • As you click on matching tiles they will disappear off the board and off the side.
  • Once all matches are made correctly, you can proceed inside that door.
  • You have the option of skipping this puzzle if you wish.

JEWELED HEART
SIDE DOOR TO THE COTTAGE


  • When you get inside the door, click on the shimmering cabinet that is on the left side.
  • The jeweled heart is in the lower center of the scene, above the word "clues"

DAMP CLOTH PLACEMENT

  • Go back to the main door on Victor's Cottage and go upstairs to his bedroom.
  • Click on the square frame that is on the wall above the bed.
  • Take the damp cloth from inventory and place it on the form 3 times so it can be legible. It's a form that admitted Charles into a mental institution.
  • The document goes into the book. Pay close attention to the skulls at the bottom of the page,


SKULL DOOR

  • Go back to the first floor of the cottage and click on the door that is on the right side. You will see a closer view of the mechanism that has some skull symbols on the side of it.
  • You want to click on the skulls in the order that they are in the book.
  • Keep in mind that the pictures in the book may look a little different than the ones on the puzzle itself. There might be slight variations in tone, just look at the shape and the expressions of the skulls.
  • Once you've done the right combination, the door will open.

SKULL KEY-Inventory Item

Study in Victor's House
  • Click on the desk and search for the hidden items, the skull key will be on the right side.

CHEST PUZZLE-TELESCOPE-Inventory Item
Study in Victor's House

  • Click on the chest that is on the lower right side and you'll see a puzzle appear.
  • Your goal is to reproduce the picture of the peacock by clicking on the stars that are in the middle of the puzzle.
  • You can skip this puzzle if you wish.
  • Once the puzzle is completed, the trunk will open and the telescope will be inside.

CHARLES' LETTER
  • Click on the papers that are on the left side of the floor and you'll a letter addressed to Charles' son.
  • Go back to the bedroom.

TELESCOPE PLACEMENT
  • In the bedroom that is in the cottage there is a telescope stand, place the telescope on the stand and then click on the telescope and you will get a view from outside.
  • Click on the weathervane and the picture will be added to your book. That's all you have to do here.
  • Go back to the elevator in the General Store. Use the trolley to make it back to the store. Pull the handle once you get in the trolley.

ELEVATOR-SKULL KEY PLACEMENT

  • Once you're back by the elevator, click on the panel that is on the right side of the scene.
  • Place the skull key on the lock and you will see some numbers in the center and some playing cards on the side.
  • You have to use all the codes that you saw throughout the course of the game.
  • 076=The number on the plaque that was by the front gate was a heart but the next number is the sequence was 76.
  • 005= On the side of the Schoolhouse you had the number 005 on the spade.
  • 006=The diamond shape on the chalkboard had the number 003.
  • 300= This is the last number that you obtained from the telescope and it was 300 (472-172=300). The club sign.
  • Enter the code correctly by moving the round piece to point to one of the cards.
  • Then click on the corresponding number on the keypad.
  • Once the code is correct you will hear a sound, move on to the next sequence until they have all been done correctly.
  • The door on the right will open once the sequence has been entered correctly.
  • Click on the scene and enter the door on the right.
  • In this section you must search the mansion for 10 jeweled hearts. This solution will be random so it will be different for everyone.

EMMA'S SHRINE-JEWELED HEART
  • When you enter the shrine click on Emma's statue and look for the jeweled heart.
  • The red heart is in the top right corner.
  • Once you're done finding all those objects, click on Emma's hands and the gold heart locket will go into inventory.
  • Go back to the hallway and place the locket in the center of the back wall and you will see a space for ten hearts.
  • Search the mansion for the hearts, they could be anywhere.

  • This is where I found mine:
  • Beauty Salon-Screen Door-Lower left side, silver heart against the bottle of perfume.
  • Beauty Salon-Bedroom-Silver heart, lower right side, on the page of the book
  • Toy Store-First floor-Glass Cabinet-Wooden heart, lower left side, on front of the basket.
  • Schoolhouse-Desk-Silver heart, in one of the slots that's on the right side
  • Gingerbread House-Lower center, on the plate.
  • Victor's Cottage-Desk-Top right side.
  • Front Door of the Manor-Etched on the left side of the window.
  • Front Gate-Lower right side, bushes-Red Heart, top right side.
  • Once you found all the hearts, go back to the dungeon and click on the back wall.
  • Place all the hearts on the 10 spaces for the hearts
  • Once they are all in place, the back wall will open up. You will be placed back in the hallway, click on that door.
  • Click on the chamber and listen to what Charles has to say. Once he is done, click on the left side of the scene for the final puzzle.

FINAL PUZZLE
  • You will have a telephone dial, your goal is to organize the numbers in numerical order from 1 to 17.
  • Click on the arrows to move the numbers from side to side.
  • Click on the heart when you want to switch the numbers at the ends of the oval that is on top. That oval will help you organize the numbers.
  • You can skip this puzzle if you wish.
  • Once the puzzle is complete you can look at the ending scene.
