Did you go back and play the gingerbread house again, I think that you get the pot holder on the second time around...

I am really sorry, the potholder is gotten on your first trip to the gingerbread house, it is in the front room at the table with the tea party going on with the dolls, the second time around you get the jar to put gas in......

The weird part is I got the jar for the gas, but didn't receive the pot holder the first time through. I am not sure, but as far as I can tell my game must have a glitch. I have gone back through every room thinking It might be some where else. There is nothing else to do. I have gone as far as I can without it.

I actually ran into a similar problem.  I solved the puzzle to get the potholder, but then it disappeared from my supply stash.  I've gone back to the gingerbread house, which glitters from far away, but once I get up close I can't figure out what else there is to do: nothing glitters inside.  I'm almost finished with the game, but can't get past this one section...HELP!!!

I am also stuck in the same spot. I got the empty bottle but not the pot holder. Is there anyway to solve the game without the potholder?

No you cannot finish the game without the potholder.  You should get the potholder the second time you visit the gingerbread house at the tea party table.

If you have gone back to the gingerbread house the second time and did not get the pot holder you may want to try to exit out of the game and restart it.  Are you sure you have done everything that you need to?

I've also not been able to find the school house edtched number of degrees...

To get the degrees you need go to the cellar door puzzle and look in the lower left hand corner, it is etched in wood.  It varies every game.  Have you scrolled through your inventory using the arrows?  The inventory will only show 8 things.
