This is the fourth installment in the Mystery Case Files Series, and with it, the developers have definitely stepped up the difficulty too. I've always found these games to be trememous value for money- they have lots of levels of play, great artwork, and the story usually keeps me engaged until the end. Certainly the length and the fantastic artwork hold true here. Added to the standard hidden object levels are several twists: there are secret shape-shifting objects to be found in each location, and each level ends with a fairly complicated puzzle (again, with tremendous production values). These puzzles can be quite difficult, and I would definitely have appreciated a skip puzzle button at times, but help can be found online for those having trouble. The one place where I found this game to not live up to earlier editions was in the storyline- it's suitably scary, but unlike, say, Prime Suspects in which you build up a list of suspects as you go, in this game you just seem to eliminate them (quite literally!) one by one. That said, the ending is surprising, and with the more difficult hidden object scenes I still give this one a "5" even with the issues mentioned. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

Detestable game. Madame Fate constantly cackles out rude remarks, the items are hard to find. I'm sorry I bought this thing. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

This game is addicting, you're given 1 hour to find all the clues and if you don't make it in time, you're given another chance. Some of the puzzles are hard to figure out, not enough instruction as to what to do. In conclusion, the game is enjoyable and will keep you glued to the screen. You can rely on MCF games for real play appeal. I loved this game, and while it was long, it wasn't long enough. Are good games every long enough? The artwork is stunning, and while you return to some of the areas time and again, you don't tire of the ambiance. The puzzles between sections are challenging, but solvable with some concentration and imagination. There were some lost objects I never could find on my own, but the good news is that the player never has to find everything. If you get stuck on one object here and there, just jump to another place, and play on. You can finish this game with a little help from the HINTS, or all by your self. Enjoy this trip to the dark side of the circus. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I almost didn't even try this game since I detest HOGs that are jam packed with itsy bitsy nearly invisible protractors that rest on the very outside edge of the screen, and many reviewers seemed to think Mme. Fate was one of these. Glad I decided to try it anyway! Yes, some of the items to find are difficult, but mostly legit and interesting. Also liked the idea of having to combine objects on the screen to make a "find" - not just a single item on a list. But the PUZZLES in the crystal ball really make this game special. Just the right level of difficulty (only had to opt out of one as I am just too old to click fast enough sometimes) and very original. (Really sick of the "differences in these pictures" type stuff.) Only one quibble: what the heck was the ending?? Not that plot means anything in this game, but I was stumped as to what Mme. Fate was telling me at the end. No worries, though. Already playing it again. B+ Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I really loved this game but some of the puzzles are a bit hard for me, even with a cheat sheet handy. But I still enjoy playing the game and I do suggest to my friends to play the game. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I love this game, I've played a few HOG and this is probably my favorite :) the only thing that is hard for me are some puzzles since I don't have instructions I have to figure out what I must do and sometimes it's not so clear.. Other than that, the game's great :) Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I love it when I finally solve those wacky and bizarre yet extremely fun puzzles at the end of each round. I would give this game 5 stars if it provided 'silhouettes' for the hidden objects.. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I'm a huge fan of Mystery Case Files games in general and this one did not disappoint. Some of the mini games were down right hard though! I found myself having to repeat levels a few times because I would get stuck on the puzzle at the end. A bit frustrating but sooo satisfying when you finally solve it! There is a good amount of content in this game, not to short. A great game! Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

Everyone seems to be so in love with this game. I love Big Fish Games. They are my favorite game site, but I enjoyed every one of the MCF games better than this one. I liked the word play mini games..and the extra rooms, but all of those difficult puzzles in between really turned me off. I did not have the urge to go back through the game and solve them. I guess those just really aren't my "thing". I wish they would come up with a restaurant themed mystery. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

Best casual game I've ever played. The ambiance is top notch due to stellar production values and an interesting story. No other HO game comes close to this. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

This is what it is all about. This is the standard to beat. This series spawned so many wanna-be's that don't come even close. If I had to find any problem it would be that it ends! I could play these MCF games forever. Those puzzle/riddles are top notch and i wish they would develop a game with just those. Thank you MCF crew. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

Engaging gameplay, spooky storyline, clever and slightly daring graphics. An excellent addition to the PG-13 (a little too much gore for younger kids) Mystery Case Files line. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

This is one of the best games ever made. It seems like the MCF brand tops itself again and again. If you're looking for a real challenge then I suggest you try this game. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate
