I purchased the first Magicians Handbook, and think I almost went blind trying to find the objects. This one was a little better, but didn't care for the mini-games. I was glad they could be skipped though Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I was looking forward to this sequel,I loved the first one. However, I do not care for this game. The objects are hard to see, the challenges often need hints to complete, and the hints are not always helpful. This is going on my "gee there's nothing else to do today guess I'll play this game" pile. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I was one of the beta testers. I was surprised at the 'completeness' of the Beta version. This game is totally awesome for hard core HOG fans. It was awesome enough that I purchased the game on Friday June 19th, the day of its release. It is never the same twice. The puzzles are Truly unique, and they change each go through. This is a game that is on par with, and even challenges the Mystery Case Files series. This IS the first HOG that I actually have purchased in a couple of months, The quality of the games in this genre has gone way down for HOGs recently, and I have seen none with truly unique puzzles since MCF. This, in fact, is the only game that have ever beta tested that I wanted to purchase immediately upon release. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I bought the first Magician's Handbook game and really enjoyed it so I didn't hesitate to download the demo for this one. It has beautiful graphics like the first game and atmospheric music and sound effects plus a few changes. The storyline has you coming back to help free fairies from the evil pirate Blacklore and restoring the magician's handbook. In addition to the HOG portion of the game, there are some mini-games to play that let you learn spells which you will use in the game. A skip option is available. There are also gold, black and silver keys hidden in each scene that unlock treasure boxes which contain time increases and other prizes that will help you in the game. While I liked the first game and continue to play it, I have to say that this one is certainly an improvement in that this time around, you use the spells you learn. There is a problem with finding some of the objects - at points I practically had my nose pressed to the computer screen to try and locate an item, especially the keys, but I still found the overall game fun and will definitely purchase it for my collection. It's an interesting game, challaging, nothing special, a bit crowdy sceeneries and items are small and hard to find. The demo was only 40mnts. and the price seems a bit high to me ($19,99 comparing to other gamesites 6,99). Waiting for another chance..It's not worth that high price...In short..try before you buy...
