Hi Wahi_Mom, Welcome to Gamezebo!
In my opinion the Lost Cases of Sherlock Holmes is a lot easier to play in terms of complexity of the puzzles than the SH Mystery Carpet game. I think they're both great games but in different ways.
I say try it out and see how you like it, that's the good thing about the 60 minute demo. It allows you to judge for yourself, you have nothing to lose.
Enjoy your weekend!

I agree that Lost Cases is a more friendly game than Persian Carpet. I just don't think a game should be so hard that most people have to look at a walkthrough to complete it. Lost Cases also had a bunch of cases to solve (16 I think) which was nice. I know they were much shorter than the one long one in Persian Carpet, but I enjoyed that I could play Lost Cases for 10 or 20 minutes at a time and still had a satisfying experience. My two cents anyway... Send a Kudo Post a Reply

I played both but I only bought Lost Cases. I did like the graphics of Persian Carpet but the story was kind of ho hum. Lost Cases was just more fun and left me wanting more after my trial period. I also liked that Lost Cases had voice actors since it made the characters more interesting. Send a Kudo Post a Reply

I love the short story formats of SH Lost Cases over the way long sagas. Expecially because I can judge if I want to open the next book and give one more a go or go to bed. When one doesn't know how many levels or puzzles are left it's too easy to say oh just one more or try to finish only to find there are 30 or 40 more to go. At least doing just one story feels complete instead of leaving just a level not knowing where you still have to go. I've spent hours googling games trying to find out how many levels a game has after buying, like Sprill, geez I thought I'd never get to the end of that, falling asleep half blind. Haven't tried Persian Carpet yet so thx for comments. I'm not one either for extreme brain teasers when I just want to relax before bed and play something fun. I've timed out a time or two on Lost Cases but don't mind playing the story over. It's usually just that one last piece to fit in a puzzle and the clock says sorry try again. Wish it had an untimed patch for slow pokes like my old brain and tired eyes. I'm more than half way thru it now and disciplined to save more stories for tomorrow, then I'll probably demo the Carpet. I purchased both Lost Cases and Persian Carpet. Strategy games are my favorite so I guess I liked Persian Carpet better. It’s more challenging and I wrinkle my forehead more when I play it. Lost Cases is a little more relaxed and not as intense, but it’s harder on my eyes. I really like both games. Send a Kudo Post a Reply

Hope this is an appropriate place to post this. How would you say Lost Cases rates compared to Persian Carpet? I was really disappointed in Persian Carpet - I found the whole user interface hard to follow and frankly some of the puzzles were too hard for me (to compare: I did Azada and Dream Chronicles 1 and 2 w/o any help, and needed minimal help via wlakthrough on the latest mcf games...so I'm not an extreme puzzler, but I'm not a novice either!) Just want to know if this one is going to be worth trying, for me. Thx! Send a Kudo Post a Reply
