that I gave up even trying to work my way through it to play the demo. I LOVE the first game and I've been waiting and waiting for this sequel, but no way am I buying it from IWin with their convoluted, intrusive software. I'll wait and get it directly from Gamelab! Sheesh! Send a Kudo Post a reply Quote & Reply

I agree. I installed it because of a game I wanted and boy, do I regret it. Sometimes it just pops up and tells me about some game I don't want anyway. Grrrr.

Alawar is worse! Took me over an hour to buy one game and right after that my computer started acting up like it had a virus. McAfee says no, but I keep getting corrupt file notices.......

I love Big Fish--they've got it down to a science.

I'm so glad that I found this thread 'cause I'm not the only one having problems and wanting to pull my hair out.

Like someone else said, I cannot download any games with Iwin. The computer will not allow it no matter what I do; FYI, I'm using Vista.

Alawar is a whole other story, I cannot purchase games from their site. I tried for two days and just kept getting an error about my bank denying. I know the account is good and has more than enough money to purchase a $19.99 game. The alternate choice Alawar gave me was to fax them my info -- HELLO -- I'm not making international calls for their game. I want the game but will wait for it to be available elsewhere.

I have had the Iwin installer for several months and it did work for a week or so. Never bought anything from them and I am not likely to, so now I would like to uninstall it: I've tried to get rid of it with no luck. How do you uninstall?

I don't understand why it won't allow me to get rid of the iWinGamesHook.dll from my computer. I've completely uninstalled the game manager, but it leaves this behind. I want to get rid of it.

After playing around with this problem for sometime, I have finally got rid of the iwingameshookie file. How?

Remove all iwin games from using add/remove software, then throw all icons fromthe desktop into recyclye and empty. Once this has been completed you can then go to the C:drive and delete the iwin.com folder from the program files. !!!

go to start, settings, control panel, add or remove software, and then find the iwin line you are looking for and click remove. after it is done you should be able to go in and delete any files that are left over from the uninstalling.

i didnt' have any problems with them untill today when some of the games i had downloaded got trojans somehow. i'm going to keep it for a little longer but if it keeps acting up i'll get rid of it. i like it for the free games but i can always go elsewhere for them.

You will notice that on the game installers there are always ads.  Probably why red flags go crazy when trying to install games.  Sometimes, the game installers from iWin, BF, Shockwave and others will flag a "false" positive for spyware/adware/trojans from you antivirus software when they do an update.  The games sites are usually pretty quick to send any changes to the major AV companies, but sometimes it is not always included right away.  What worked for me, was to add the game site to the Safe or White List  on the AV programs.  This has cleared up my problems, especially from iWin. Once in a great while, a game will get flagged, but usually when I check it out, it was a "false" positive and usually was fixed the same day.  Since I trust these sites, I have no problem overriding my AV programs.

It's always great to get other opinions, but in the end, always trust your own instincts.

    Happy Gaming!
