Hidden quests China & Europe

I can't get Hidden Quests in China or Europe. In China the graphic says not to let any monkeys fall off the bottom edge of the board, and get all the monkeys in the cages. I've done that & not won. Does this mean you can't eliminate 3 monkeys together in the middle of the board? If a monkey escapes from the cage does that mean you lose? Do all the spaces have to be turned to gold? In Europe it says to match the first 3 moves of your opponent. Does that mean the EXACT 3 first moves? Or does it just refer to the point total - i.e. 3 points the first move, 4 points the second move, 3 points the third move ? How fast do you have to make the moves? I'm getting no where with either of these area & it's totally stalled out the game for me. I'm now at 53% & don't want to quit.

For every quest, Silver, Gold, or Hidden, you must turn all the spaces of the board gold plus whatever else they want you to do.

So for China, you must turn all spaces gold, fill all cages with monkeys, and not let any monkeys fall off the bottom of the board. All in one location, of course.

For Europe, you must exactly match the first 3 moves of your opponent and complete the location by turning all spaces gold faster than your opponent. This is usually a little easier to do against Emma than Hani because she's slightly slower so you have time time to watch her first 3 moves. And it's the total moves, not the squares, she might make just one move and get some chain reactions that end up turning 12 squares gold. So it's going to be easier on some turns then others, just because of the randomness of the jewels you get.

(I have no idea why that posted twice!)

Anyway, hang in there...you'll get it eventually.

Oh, and to answer your specific questions for China:

It's fine if a monkey escapes from a cage and then you put another monkey in the cage.

It's fine if you make monkey matches.

At the end of the location you must have turned all spaces gold, filled all cages with monkey, and never have allowed a monkey to fall off the bottom edge. Any other "monkey business" is fine. ;)

Thanks - This was so helpful! I got past the Hidden Quest Europe but Sabastian is impossible to beat. Is there any trick to outwitting him? It looks like he's playing a different, easier board than I am.

Do you mean in Europe? The boards are identical, you just have to play quickly.

Oh, and in Europe, it's critical to work the board from the bottom up so you take advantage of chain reaction matches.

That's a great tip on Europe. It's helped. Thanks. I'm still having trouble with the China Hidden Quest. I di get all the monkeys in cages with none falling off the edge of the board, and turned all the spaces to gold ...but that didn't help and the Hiddlen Quest is still unsolved. Any other tips?

Hmmmm....try going out to the lobby, coming back into the map room, clicking on the Region dot for China, and then tell us exactly what it says in the lower left corner. There will be three headings there: Hidden Quest, Silver Quests, and Gold Quests. There are words or counters below each of these. What does each say for China?

Hidden quest China says: Hidden Quest Undiscovered, Silver Quest Completed, Gold Locked. I've put the monkeys in the cages, none fell off the bottom of the board, and all spaces turned gold, but Hidden Quest is still Undiscovered. Is this a dead end? I was doing OK in Europe, but can't get the final board done beating Sebastian. I must have tried 50 times with no luck. It seems every 10 boards or so it lets me lose with one space left. Very depressing! Thanks for your help.
