Infinite Dreams is a developer known for creating simple, yet fun, mobile experiences, like the Can Knockdown series. And the developer has taken that same mentality to Facebook with Jelly Puzzle, a game that’s all about solving jigsaw puzzles as fast as you can. Again, it’s simple and fun, but it also may be just a touch too simple.

And the developer has taken that same mentality to Facebook with Jelly Puzzle, a game that’s all about solving jigsaw puzzles as fast as you can. Again, it’s simple and fun, but it also may be just a touch too simple.
Really, the game is as basic as the description. You’ll play through multiple levels, each of which consists of a different jigsaw puzzle. Each level is timed and so the ultimate goal is to complete each puzzle as quickly as you can. Faster scores earn more points and there’s a worldwide leaderboard that lets you compare overall scores with other players.
The first puzzle is incredibly simple, but it doesn’t take too long before the complexity ratchets up. Puzzles with dozens of pieces will take quite a lot longer to complete, and there’s a suprising amount of tension as you attempt to fit pieces together as quicly as you can. There are even prizes at stake as the top five players each week can win t-shirts.
Jelly Puzzle does feel a bit feature light, though. The core gameplay is solid, and even though the puzzles get progressively more difficult, it just feels like there isn’t a whole lot to the game. At present the only real social feature is the ability to compare scores for each level with friends who have also played, and the aformentioned leaderboards. It’s also hard to shake the feeling that this is little more than a promotional game for two of Infinite Dreams’ other games, Jelly Invaders and Jelly Defence, both iOS titles. Each piece of art we’ve seen so far features a logo for either of the mobile games.
The game has just launched, though, so it’s possible that additional features are in the works. Even if they aren’t, there really isn’t another comporable experience on Facebook, which makes it easy to look past Jelly Puzzle‘s faults.
