Hi, it's been a long while since I played Titanic, I'm trying to visualize, is it the combination numbers on the vault with many odd items on and around it? I had trouble too but turned out quite easy. As I recall a number will be highlighted on the vault row of numbers. Say it is a 5, then look for an item, like a hand with 5 fingers and click that, then the next number will highlight. If an 8 I think it was the bunch of bananas (if that was 8) but you get the idea. I kept clicking on items and nothing happened so was doing it backwards and had not noticed the lit numbers to do first. Count dots on dice, or currency value, seems for 4 there was something saying "Quartet" that worked, or maybe a Roman numeral X for a 10 on the vault pictures. Just see what number is next lit and match it by clicking same value item.
I may go back and play again from the start, I had to reinstall it on my laptop so no history files. If these suggestions don't work I may be back to help. The puzzle is simple but with no instructions I complicated it to start and was doing it backwards with no effect.
My difficulty with Titanic was being timed, I prefer a Relaxed mode, and didn't like penalties for misfires when some had a very precise spot to click on. Otherwise it is a pretty game and interesting historical trivia.

When you start there is a number highlighted on the safe. You then have to find and click on an object in the scene that has that number or represents that number. For example if the number highlighted on the lock is five you might have to click on a hand with five fingers up or it might be a domino with five on it. When you find the right thing then another number will light up on the combination and you have to look for it. I think the puzzle is random because I did it three times before I solved it and it was different each time.

There are multiple choices for the number you are looking for. There are several things for example that will have a five on it.

Thanks for posting the tip and I'm sure it will help me. I also enjoy the relaxed mode of games. If you ever get a chance to see the Titanic exhibit please do so - it is awesome.

this is how I got threw the captains combo- I went and found the items in 3 levels before the captains as fast as I could so that I would have alot of time (17-15) before starting the search, I would find a couple and then I would hit the hint button until the end, but you must have alot of time before starting, I went threw that replay 5 times on the last 3 levels so then I kinda remembered everything was at. If someone else comes up with a better plan let me know...thanks
