Not bad, not bad at all. I tried this when it first came out, and somehow, it failed to grab me. However, now that the latest installment of the Hidden Expedition series (Devil's Triangle) has gotten me hooked, I thought I'd go back and try some of the earlier games. This one is quite well done for being almost solely a hidden object game. The graphics are done very nicely, and the puzzles are not overly challenging. However, I must say the epic soundtrack and story contained within the professor's journal pages are what really carried this game. A very solid purchase, indeed! The Hidden Expedition games (this one is the third in the series) keep getting better and better! Superior graphics and an interesting (and unusually for a HOG, coherently plotted) storyline lift this one above the competition. Well worth playing. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

Overall I like this game. There are a few areas where I think it needs to be improved. The games in the middles of a sequence, going from one to another are very confusing; there are no indications as to what you're supposed to do and what it is that you need to accomplish. My biggest complaint is the section with the stone wall with the jewels. I just hate that. I never get any points on that section because I just keep clicking the hint button to get through it. Please what is the point of it. Clicking that stupid vine after you get the gems in the right holes and then getting them to light up in sequence; really stupid and then the prize is the map; who cares; it does nothing to advance the game it just really annoying! With fantastic backgrounds, great music, a compelling storyline, and long-lasting, challenging play, this is by far my favorite game. The backgrounds are animated & lush. Each new scene makes me stop to stare at it for a bit. And the variety! You start out in bustling cities and end up in an eerie, underground mythological world. The music is wonderful and very fitting for a Far East adventure, and the ambient background noises are fun & peaceful. The story keeps me interested, and I appreciate that it's not spoken by an actor - instead, you read journal pages which are clever & humorous. I also like how you're not penalized for clicking on too many random places, and you're not racing for time or with others (like on HE Everest). The silhouette option to see the shape of objects is a great idea! I cannot wait for the next HE game, and I hope it's as brilliant as Amazon. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

This game hits exactly why I play hidden object games. Hours of fun searching with a decent "story" that does not intrude or eat up a lot of the play time. This series has become my favorite! Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

Very challenging puzzles, but all in all a great game. Liked the beetles for hints, hint shapes, log was amusing, and many new and different things for HO game. There were plenty of hints, even if you did not find all the beetles. Thank goodness for a wonderful walk-through, could not have done it without cheating a little! I agree that some of the puzzles were almost impossible without a hint or many hints. This is the first HO game that I can remember having great music, not the usual annoying, monotonous kind. Kudos to everyone who worked on this game. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

Now this is play time. Screen after screen of lovely background images, and the story is intriguing and satisfying, as you travel the globe, then venture into the Amazon jungle. Can you discover the Beetle Temple and rejuvenate the biome? Every time I thought the game had to end here or there, new screens opened and led me further into the Myst-like temple. I admit, I needed some hints from the Gamezebo tips thread, but after a little nudge I was back on the trail to Dr. Mandible. Take your time, games rarely look or play this good. Grown-up approved. Very good game, I loved the graphics, gameplay and minigames. Only it was weird for me being south american to see in the map Colombia spelled "ColUmbia" and I had no idea that hippopotamus lived in Ecuador lol, I didn't really find the story appealing but that's not a problem when the game itself is so good like this one. I just wished developers would do their homework right and find out spelling and facts from a country before starting production ^_^ Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I really enjoyed this game. The storyline is engaging with wonderful, almost cinematic, background music that really sets the tone. One aspect that I really appreciated was the lack of a timer. I also liked the option of clicking on the name of an object and seeing an outline of it's shape. This was incredibly useful in some cases. Great game overall and one that I would definitely recommend. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

This is by far the best of the Hidden Expedition series. The graphics are very pleasing to the eye, and the new twists and turns incorporated into this edition of the game add a much-needed freshness to the series. A must-have for HO game collectors! Too dark, as are most games of this type. But the thing I really don't like is that the puzzles don't make much sense, I mean, how often would you think to take a board and use a pencil sharpener on it?!? It's not logical, and it should be. Graphics are good, story is funny in a stupid way. I would love to design one of the these games! Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

excellent game, very nice change to have some decent atmospheric music that lends itself to the game theme. Found many of the puzzles quite difficult and am now stuck trying to find the dumb bell. used up all my clues and even looking at the silhouette and looking intently I still can not find it. Anyone can help it would be appreciated. Nearly there at the end could not have even got this far withouth the great help from Gamezebo, simply terrific site. Really loved the graphics but I agree that from time to time some screens were just to dark, my eyes were sore after a couple of them. But then again, that is the whole point of H-O, right? Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I'm having some problems re: this game. Some of the scenes were awfully dark (unable to see objects) and just did not care for it as much as Everest game. I am disappointed in this one. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate
