Upgrading Hello City Buildings

Due to the limited land area your city has, adding more houses and business establishments will not be beneficial. To save on space and give room for higher level items, you will need to upgrade. Here is a guide and tips on how upgrading can help in your gameplay.

When you need more workers to open your stores, your initial instinct is to build more houses. You can either wait until you reach the next level to buy one that houses more workers but this will take time and as mentioned, more space. Upgrading your houses is more cost efficient.

Let’s use the Cream Cottage (or Cream House) as an example. Clicking on the house you want to upgrade will open a window for you to manage the upgrade. Click on upgrade and a window will appear to show you how many workers you’ll get after the upgrade and how much it costs. In this case, it costs 238 coins to do so and you’ll get a total of 7 workers, adding 5 more to the existing 2.

If you build Cream cottages individually to get the same number of workers, you will need 3. Each costs 95 x 3 to build will total to 285 coins. By upgrading you saved 47 coins.

When you upgrade businesses, you will add the number of coins you earn during collection time. This would also mean you need more workers to open it. The nacho taco restaurant is our example here.

At this point, the only downside to upgrading businesses is the number of workers it needs once it has been upgraded to the next level. Say, building a nacho restaurant from scratch only needs 1 worker but an upgraded one will need 5 more. An increase from 29 to 35 is not much compared to the number of workers you need to add to keep it open. We’re hoping this would change in the future.

Take note that it does take hours for the upgrade to be completed. We are hoping that this will change as well.
