    I'm really enjoying this game (so far) and I'll write a User Review later on (after I have actually finished the it--I usually don't write reviews based on "betas", "previews" or "demos".

    The Battle Scenes were a delightful new twist for me, since I don't normally enjoy Tower Defense (see Plants vs. Zombies) or even Chess, that much.

    That being said, here are some tips you might find helpful in the Battle Scenes:

    Laughing  The game DOES provide help in learning how the Battles work (click on the "?" button while you're in one.

    Innocent  Your objective is to totally defeat the Opponent by removing all their pieces from the Battle Board. 

    Surprised  There are two stages for each of your (and the opponent's) moves. 1) Move an Elemental and 2) Attack the opponent (if you're in range)

    Smile  Move one of your Elementals to make a line of 3 (horizontal, vertical or diagonal) of the same type/level and it will combine with them to make a higher-level Elemental of the same type. 

    Cool  Higher level Elementals have a greater range of attack and can take more damage.

    Surprised  As each Battle progresses, little stone pyramids will appear and start pushing your remaining pieces to the front and center of the Battle Board.

    Cool  Try to keep your Higher Level pieces close enough to include the Opponent's weak pieces in their range, but far enough from the front of the board to be attacked by their strong (High Level) pieces.

    Kiss  You will earn various "Power Ups" as you play the game that may assist in attacks or provide healing power to your damaged pieces.

    Laughing  If you lose a Battle, you can "Replay" the Board.

    Embarassed  There is a "Skip" Option (after so many turns/time) but I have never used it (so far).

    These are surely not ALL the tips for playing the Battles in Elementals:  The Magic Key, but I hope they help.

    You're very welcome, Levendig. 

    There are a few more detailed tips on Battles at the end of the Tips & Tricks, in the Appendix:  Battle Strategy.

    It's a shame that some people will just skip the Battles.  They do get more challenging as the game progresses.  Also, in the Bonus Battles (where you can replay any battle you have already encountered) you can play at 3 difficulty levels.  Very challenging!

    And I've seen one more tip - try to collect 4-5 smaller elementals in a row.

    Put 2 elementals - a gap - 2 elementals then fill in the gap with the fifth elemental --> this will give you three bigger elementals

     

    And use the bonuses as soon as they recharge before you move and fire with your elementalCool
