Cassy, I had been stuck with the hammer like you are now. Check out the tips from Lizzie and Wbsissy in the other thread (page 3 with 50 posts per page).
It is necessary to restart the chapter, then do nothing before picking up the flashlight, positioning it on the floor and taking the hammer.
It helped me. Doing anything in another sequence resulted in being stuck for me.Good luck with this!

Stuck on level 1- no hammer!

I know this has been posted before but I can't find an answer. I've looked at the walk-through and read all the posts pertaining to this problem.
When I pick up the hammer from under the bed, it falls back down when I click on the flashlight to return to the main screen. Is there a step I'm missing or is my game flawed?
I've patched the holes in the UFO and fixed the landing gear, but with out the hammer - I'm STUCK- and it's very frustrating.
Please help.
