Glenda, did you put the recipe for the Root shriveling potion in the book in the kitchen? Here is a screen shot where the teddy bear goes. It is to the left of the bottom step, under the face, on the floor.

the game will not let me put the bear at the bottom of the stairs to end the game. help please
Before you place the Teddy Bear you have to talk to Lilith until she gives you the recipe for the Root Shriveling potion. Even if you have made the Root Shriveling potion already by using notes or the walkthrough, you still have to talk to Lilith and get the recipe before the game will let you place the Teddy Bear and end the game.
If you have already made the Root Shriveling potion and then go back to talk to Lilith, once you get the paper with the recipe you don’t have to go back to the kitchen and put the recipe in the book. You can place the Teddy Bear and end the game with the recipe paper in your inventory. Good luck!

Scooter and Lizzie, I whe back to the ktichen and put the recipe in the book, but still can not put the bear in place. It says "nothing happens or this object belongs somewhere else." I still have several pieces of gold left, could this have something to do with it? HELP!!

Hi Glenda.. This is what you have to do:
place the teddy bear at the bottom of the stairs ( on the floor) just below the face on the pillar.. You can do it... just pick up the right place...it belongs there...
There's also a picture in the Walkthrough which you can enlarge and you see what I mean..

I'm so sorry Glenda...that it doesn't work for you...it's so clear in the screenshot ..
I think the only option might be now to start a new game (another name), since your are at the end already..but it isn't satisfying for you neither for me.. I didn't have any probs. at the end and finished the game several times...
By the way.. was this the only thing to do to finish or did you have to do something else??

There are two potions near the end of the game. Perhaps the recipe you put in the book was the Waking Potion and not the Root Shriveling Potion. You can go back and talk to Lilith again and make sure that you have answered all her questions. Keep clicking on Lilith until she gives you the Root Shriveling Potion then you can place the bear.

I used the shriveling potion at the bottom of the home staircase and the bear magically appeared without me having to find it??? Also I had like four additional telescope lenses I picked up in Lilith's room that I didn't have to use?? I guess I happened upon the optional ending mentioned in the walkthrough. I checked the walkthough because the ending was so discombobulated, I usually to don't resort to the tips. Well the ending I experienced was abrupt and unfulfilling IMHO. Why have a shortcut ending anyway? Very Odd.
