And again a game presented by Jane Jensen. I am very happy to still see her name around after her masterpieces "Gabriel Knight" and other great titles.

The graphics of "Dr. Lynch Grave Secrets" were mostly very good. But some items were so small that I was not able to identify them (mostly due to resolution limits of the graphics I think). But there are not so many of them and I was able to finish the game without ever running out of hints and/or time.
Sound design is very basic but add to the athmosphere of every scene with environmental sounds. Music is done very nicely and doesn´t distract from the game at all.

The storyline is rather standard for this type of investigational HOG, but it kept me playing until the end.

As a purely Hidden Object game, this game ranks really low. Firstly, many hidden object scenes are repeated, with you sometimes having to look for the same objects; secondly, some objects were so microscopic you needed a real-life magnifier to see them. E.g. Some objects are - believe it or not - 1mm in diameter on my 1680 x 1050 screen! Absurd is the word.

Every round of HO scenes (containing typically 4-6 locations) is set to an overall time limit of 25 minutes, and whenever a round begins, hints automatically reset to 5 even though you may have earned more hints the previous round. This makes searching all the more difficult, because you only have a very limited number of hints to work with. You can earn hints within each round, but earning the hints is sometimes more difficult than finding the actual objects!

The game's only redeeming point is its storyline. This is a whodunnit, and at the end of the game you are asked to name the perpetrator of all the crimes committed, out of a list of suspects. I must say the plot was pretty interesting, and kept me engaged. In fact, if not for wanting to get to the bottom of the mystery, I wouldn't have endured the countless rounds of hidden object hell.

I enjoyed the humour & admired the graphics of this game but like the majority of the other reviewers I found the miniscule hidden items highly frustrating. By the time I'd played it for 3 hours those tiny items were irritating me to the point that they were over-riding the game's positive points. I would have preferred that the player was given the option to the timer being turned off; not being timed would have made this game more enjoyable for me. I know it's a niggling criticism but if the game is based in England then let the spelling be in UK format. I liked the mini puzzles although I had to use the walkthrough a couple of times. The story's ending was highly enjoyable & not abrupt like some other HO games I've played recently.
I wanted to give this game 3.5 stars but discovered that there are no half stars so I'm rounding it down to 3 stars due to the tiny objects & timer.

This could have been a great game. Instead, it is the most frustrating game I have played in a long time. As the game evolves, it seems that the items to find get smaller and smaller and the time gets shorter and shorter. It doesn't, but when you are going blind with your nose against the screen and you find nothing...time flies. I actually played almost to the end , when repeating a section for the 3rd time, I wondered why I was doing this when I had 3 more new games to play. If you like teeny weeny things and pressure to find them before the clock runs out, this game is for you. But it wasn't for me.

I played this when it came out, and just played it again yesterday before I purchased Dead Time Stories. This was a great game for its time and one for the 1st great scary games. I love these games...graveyards, ghosts, etc, etc. Remember when we were kids and would sit around a campfire and hear scary stories. That was the best part of the trip. I don't do that anymore, so I truly enjoy these type games. Don't like real life murder games, but love these scary or treasure hunting games. Keep them coming. Nothing I enjoy better on a dull, boring day, than to sit and play a really great HO game with plenty of adventure. If you haven't tried this one, give it a spin.

the story & dialog are very good; very well-done "atmospheric" music; good hand-drawn graphics (objects are to scale, but really small) & decent game length. this is a challenging game, so those of you looking for something relaxing, with easy to find objects/easy to solve puzzles, probably won't like this one. there are a good number of locations to search, quite a few clues & objects to collect, a really nice variety of additional search items in many scenes & well-crafted minigames, that fit the theme. this game is tightly timed & you're given limited hints which makes it extra challenging. i really liked this aspect. it's been awhile since i've played an HOG that was actually challenging due to the actual game mechanics. it doesn't suffer from the "Youda Legend" syndrome - objects completely blended into backgrounds so they CAN'T be found. thoroughly enjoyable and worth the purchase price for those that like a challenge. i took off 1 star because the graphics could have been crisper &/or objects a bit larger.

For me, this is an almost perfect game. It comes from the same company that creates the Agatha Christie games and those are some of my favorites. The only minor drawback of those games for me is that they're all set in the 30's or 40's, whereas Dr. Lynch is set in current day and I really like that. This particular game is set in England, I love how it combines the beautiful countryside and old English cottages, manors and villages with modern-day. The graphics are beautiful; the puzzles are fun but can be skipped if desired and you don't have to wait to skip; the story is interesting and has a lot of humor plus some sly "insider" jokes; the gameplay is very challenging: players are allotted 25 minutes (I don't like the chime ringing down the last minute or so, though), ample time but my "problem" is that the scenes are so beautiful and detailed that I lose a lot of time from just lingering over the scenes enjoying the artwork. So I'd prefer no time limit, or a bit longer of a limit. There are 14 chapters, so for someone like me who likes to relax, take my time and have a game last for 4 or 5 hours this one is ideal. I was never bored. In fact, I played the entire game in one sitting, something I rarely do because I like to make games last as long as possible over several days. This one is just so much fun though that I didn't want to stop. Another feature I like is the bonus items you can find to earn more hints, these are optional but so much fun I play them as well. This game has a good replay value, too. I wish all games were this well made and as much fun to play. I don't know when I've so thoroughly enjoyed any game as much as this one, I can't praise it enough. Absolutely worth every penny. Kudos and thanks to the gamemakers, please keep turning out many more quality games like this one.

Would have enjoyed it more if some of the items to find weren't practically microscopic. I quit in the Knot Garden when I was trying to find the five hummingbirds - found a pigeon and a parrot but there were no other birds in the scene and believe me, I scoured that scene inch by inch with my nose almost pressed up against the monitor. I didn't even bother finishing the demo. Too frustrating!

I detested this game. There are only a few hidden object games in which I lose my temper while playing, and this is one of them. One thing that I didnt like was that there was no option to turn off the timer. Game developers need to realize that if you make the objects so small that you can barely see them, especially for the people will fairly poor eyesight like myself, a no timer version is nice to have. Another thing, the story was intriguing at first, but got tiresome as the story progressed. I bought the game after the hour free trial because that was the fun part of the game. However, after I finished it, I deleted it all from my computer. I believe I got my $7 worth. At least it wasnt $20
