  "profiles.xml" is in the Cradle of Rome folder in your C:Program Files directory.  In there you can change the number of lives you have.  To replenish the "resbonus" amounts, look in the Save folder in the Cradle of Rome Folder.  To really cheat, change the min_amount="200".  The resbonus types are 10=time; 11=bomb; 12=gold orb; 13=lightning; 15=star; 16=hammer; i think 14=plus sign; 17=shield.
