  • I also think this short game

I also think this short game is a 'rip-off'. I liked that the peaches posed a problem and I flipped in and out of the map a number of times to try and find what to do with them -but it added challenge to the game. I would like to have seen some option to the meals (eg. more points using blue cheese on steak vs salad) I'm disappointed that Big Fish - who have had a standard which players have come to trust and some of the best HO games would put this game up when there are so many other HO games out there that last longer, are more challenging, etc. from which they could have chosen. We normally wait for Gamezebo review before buying - our bad this time. Posted by: Matouk at April 17, 2008 04:45 PM Send a Kudo Post a Reply

A lot of games are too short or full of errors but this seems as if they just sold the first draft rather than a whole product. Another promising game going nowhere. Posted by: renni at April 17, 2008 05:44 PM Send a Kudo Post a Reply

Game has a good concept, but is lacking in something. I would have like to have seen multiple recipes for the style of the restuarants. It was way too short. Need more polish. Posted by: Keyta at April 17, 2008 06:45 PM Send a Kudo Post a Reply

Even though I like a few parts of the game, so for example the "cooking"-part, i find it more than ennoying that the hints are so expensive, the objects often not good descriped, the time (and money)-penality much to fast. And Im sure, one time the developers of ho-games will find out, that their game is not good, just because they make the objects small or nearly unvisible, so that they are even not to see with a hint. The game comes from "gamemill entertainment" and they also released 'hidden mistery civil war', where there are the same issues. At least, the games are wasted money for me. Have to agree with most of the comments made. I played the trial, then bought the game. I thought it looked quite original but was so disappointed when I completed it a few hours later and discovered that was it!!!! I agree about the severe penalties for random clicking, As it is Americanised, it's sometimes difficult to know what you are looking for and random click penalties do not allow for this. Because they don't give you a lot of info on how to prepare the meal, you are really in trouble if you need help there and have spent your budget. Not thought through particularly well...... Not value for money, but liked the idea behind it. Posted by: Paula Tyrrell at April 18, 2008 04:34 AM Send a Kudo Post a Reply

I went back to my Cooking Quest,to try again. This time I only have 2 resturants I can play. I think BF needs to refund some money on this game. Posted by: debm at April 18, 2008 07:33 AM Send a Kudo Post a Reply

I agree with all as well, the Cooking Quest is basiacally a one hour free play and no sense in buying since there is nothing else after that. Same gaes for teh Civial war game. Wht don't designers put objects that are at least relavent to th escene or era? Rubber chicken in th ecannon room! GameMill look like someone we need to stay away from. I really enjoyed this game and had a lot of fun with the mini-game. I wish that it was longer but at least there is some replay value. I'll play this again for a better score. Posted by: V. at April 18, 2008 04:22 PM Send a Kudo Post a Reply

I agree with all of you. I liked the idea and thought about buying it after the trial but I have second thought when I learned that it was so short...I am fed up with HO games that you can complete in 2 hours. I tried also the civil war and this one is so bereft of hints with small objects that it is impossible to complete anything...Oh yeah, you can play a game to have them...Couldn't figure it out. Some of the items are way too tiny and hard to click on. Even when you find what you want, for example some nails. I had to click on them numerous times, then got penalized. I agree that the game was over, way too soon. I finished it in about 2 hours, and believe me, I'm not that great at these games.
