    Hi everyone. This is the first time I have been here, but I do read you guys 2 or 3 times a week. Everyone seems really smart and I am absolutely clueless about computers. I just downloaded Cooking Dash and it runs pretty slow, but when I try to buy something to update the place, it just completely freezes up on me. I have to admit up front that alot of the games I have downloaded recently have been freezing up on me. But usually they evenually unfreeze. Cooking Dash just stayed frozen. Is anyone else having this problem? Do you think I need a new Video Card? (I have no idea what that is or where to get one, but I have heard other people refer to it). Thanks everyone.     Hi glorb433, Welcome

    it sounds like you need to update your video card and possibly your directx, that may help your games run bettter. For the video card all you need to do is get the name of the manufacturer, go on their website and download an update. If you need help with that let me know the maker of your video card and I'll try and find the update for you. For direct x you can do a google search for it and update it, it's very easy to do.     Thanks MargieB! I really appreciate your response. But, like I indicated, I am so dumb when it comes to computers. How do I find out the manufacturer of my video card? Is it the same as the manufacturer of my computer? Sorry for these stupid questions!

    Hi Glorb433, Not a problem, I know how you feel about computers, I've learned more about them since I started working here. Do you have Windows XP, Vista or Mac?

    Hi Glor, apologies for not getting back to you yesterday. From your "Start" menu (lower left corner) click on "Control Panel" then look for something that has the word "driver" and maybe the words "intel" "Nvidia" "S3 graphics" etc. Let me know what you find. Thanks, Margie

    Hi Margie. Please don't apologize, not necessary. I went to the Control Panel and it listed 10 sections. "Appearance & Themes", "Network & Internet connections", "Add or remove Programs", "Sounds, Speach & Audio Devices", "Performance & Maintenance", Printers & other Hardware", "User Accounts", "Date, Time, Language & Regional Options", "Accessibility Options" and "Security Center". I didn't see anything like the words you listed.
    As I was doing this I remembered that about a year and a half ago I was communicating with BFG and they were trying to help me update my video card. They couldn't find it for a long time, and when they did I downloaded it, but it really didn't help much. My warranty has run out so, I can't get it free. I called the place where I bought the computer (I,m not sure if I am allowed to mention the place here), and they said it would cost about $250. YIKES!! But maybe if gas prices keep going down I can afford to go there and get one.

    Thanks Glor, we're glad to help around here. When you're in the control panel, look on the top left side and you'll see something that says "Switch to classic view" click on that and you should be able to see what I'm talking about. Updating your video card should not cost you anything. If it's defective that's another story.Let's try and see if we can update first before you go spend some money. Thanks, margie

    Hi Margie. I "switched to classic view" this morning and there was a big difference. But I still could not find any of those words you indicated. It's probably just me. But that's okay because what I did was uninstall the game and then reinstall it and it seems to work okay now. A little slow, but okay. How about that? I stress the word "seems", but for now I am really happy that I can at least play the game.
