Man becomes self-appointed customer support service for Coasterville after big Zynga mix-up

Coasterville players may have noticed an interesting Internal Server Error message from Zynga over the past few months, which instructed them to contact the server administrator at themepark.com about any technical issues they run into with the Facebook game. Now here’s where the story gets a little interesting: themepark.com is owned by a man named Eric Mueller, who uses the domain in accordance with his web design firm, and who has absolutely nothing to do with Zynga. In fact, he’s never even played a Zynga game before!

CoasterVille Review

Video games are fun, theme parks are fun – but a video game about theme parks?  That’s setting the fun bar crazily high.  Yet while lots of developers have tried this combination over the years, only a handful of series – like Roller Coaster Tycoon – ever managed to be any good.  Park management sims tend to offer about as much excitement as waiting in line on a hot summer’s day.  Can Zynga’s latest foray into the genre buck this trend?

Eagle-eyed Facebook gamers may have noticed a surprising ad in their sidebar today for a game called CoasterVille.  More surprising still was the “Zynga” logo emblazoned on the ad.  Did Zynga slyly release a new game without making any sort of an announcement whatsoever?  Not really – but it looks like it could be a hint of things to come.
