CastleVille Legends is a simulation/town building game created by Zynga. You play as the steward of a kingdom that’s fallen under a wizard’s evil spell. To restore the kingdom, you must grow crops, raise animals, send your heroes to explore ancient ruins, and sell whatever food and goods your kingdom produces. Gamezebo’s quick start strategy guide will provide you with detailed images, tips, information, and hints on how to restore your kingdom’s glory.

CastleVille Legends Review

While the original CastleVille fits snuggly in the history of Zynga’s Ville games as the spiritual successor to The Pioneer Trail, CastleVille Legends sets out to be something ambitiously new. Designed from the ground up for mobile, Legends is more a game of trading and economics than it is a medieval life simulator.

If that description scares you off, don’t worry – much of Legends will feel like a familiar experience to the Zynga faithful. The nuts and bolts that bring the game together (crafting, quests, etc) are things that you’re already doing in other games. The trick, though, is that these elements come together in Legends in a way that creates something we haven’t seen before in a Zynga title.

If we were to break CastleVille Legends down to its base mechanics, it would probably look something like this: creating resources, crafting those resources into products, and selling those products for fun and profit.

On paper, I admit it sounds a little like FarmVille 2. But the execution here feels markedly different.

Can’t wait to catch your first real glimpse of CastleVille Legends, Zynga’s first mobile entry in the franchise? Don’t worry – waiting isn’t our thing either. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Zynga once again to give you a first look at the next big thing from the house of Z.

Starting at 6:30pm PT tonight, we’ll be interviewing CastleVille Legends executive producer Jason Everett on Twitch.TV, while Jason gives viewers a live demo of the game. You can watch it live on Zynga’s Twitch channel, or if you’d rather spare your clicking finger, you can watch it live in the embedded video below.
