<< Go BackTopic: Best Match 3 game I have ever played
-
When my eyes are getting tired and my forehead in getting wrinkled from playing HOGs and strategy puzzles, this is the game I go to for just pure fun. It gives me a challenge and it relaxes me at the same time. And it also heals my tired eyes. I was amazed when I first noticed this but it really does work for me. There must be something in the way my eyes have to move over the screen so quickly that exercises them in a good way.

Strategy puzzle games like Azada and Dream Chronicles 2 are my favorite type of game but I always go to my Caribbean Hideaway for rejuvenation. I also liked Pastry Passion and I plan to buy it with my next game credit from Real Arcade. It will be the first match 3 game that I have purchased since Caribbean Hideaway. -
I agree Pilar, I love this game and play it often. I am a fan of match 3 games, but hadn't seen many good ones in awhile until this one came out. Like you, I played it continuously until I finally finished it. Got stuck over ane over around 97/98, but finally got it! I love a challenge and as this game progresses it definately gets more difficult. Anyone trying it for the first time should not get discouraged by how easy it is at the beginning as it gets more challenging as you progress.

The game got very difficult for me because when I first got it I didn't know about the Tips & Tricks here at Gamezebo. I would highly recommend that every one read the Tips & Tricks before they play it. That way they will know how to use the power ups and weapons properly and it will be more fun!

I tried the demo, and it did seem pretty good. I used to play the Jewel Quest-match 3 (loved the 3rd one best) and the Luxor (marble popping) games, for relaxation, btwn the HO & adventure games. Just something I could get into for a few minutes btwn things. I'll have to try Caribean Hideaway, again when I find it.

ABSOLUTELY! This game is definitely one of the best-executed I've seen. I can't wait to see the next game from Twin Tales!

Twintale Entertainment is run by twin brothers Mikael and Martin Andersen in Denmark. One of the brothers wrote and thanked everyone for their comments on the old Gamezebo site, but none of the comments on this game have made it to the new site. He said they have a new game in the works but he didn’t say what kind of game it will be. I am looking forward to it also!

Hm... played it now again... and no, it doesnt touch me. The first time I needed to replay a level was in chapter 67. Its not that challenging for me, to easy to go through. So even if i have to admit, that the graphics are nice, they made a good mixture of relaxing and not that relaxing levels and the variosity of items is well choosen, it will never be my game Greetings, Kayleigh

Thx for the suggestion Pilar, I just did the demo not really knowing what I'm doing, only got up to L12. I agree there could be better instructions, haven't read Tips here.
It's different, getting the next tile to play on the pointer. May get it on next BF credit, still shopping. My all time "between HO eyes" has always been Big Kahuna Reef to relax altho I've not been real big on match 3s. What BKR has to offer is endless puzzles to never get bored. Once you get thru 100 levels and do the challenge (may be 50 more) you can download free puzzles from their site which other players design. Some extremely complex, all different types for any mood, and a nice community board to share comments. When I'm stressed and just feel like blasting something BK2 chains with bombs does it for me.
Another is 7 Wonders of Ancient World. I bombed out on it so many times with the timer til I got a new puter which is faster and now progressing. Never occured to me how a slow pc can't keep up with pace of a timed game. Try 7 Wonders, some very funny entertainment going on across the bottom of the screen, workers strike and yell at you when not providing enough rocks to build, or stop for lunch and pick up a ahem hooker, or maybe just a sexy lunch partner. It is fast paced but fun with the bombs. Then back to thinking on a HO game....

you mean 7 Wonders II (!) - and yes, you are right, its really funny and a good game :)Greetings, Kayleigh -
Yes, I have 7 Wonders and 7 Wonders II and I like them also. I guess when I found Caribbean Hideaway I liked it so much that I am kind of spoiled. I do plan to get Pastry Passion when I get my next Real Arcade credit. It is bright and funny but it makes me crave chocolate.

I've played these types of games before, but only recently knew they had a name! I downloaded a few demos a while back and loved Caribbean Hideaway - its fun, challlenging and the graphics are great. So when I got a half off coupon the other day I had to buy it right away. I haven't found another Match-3 I enjoy as much!

Oh no, I'm still on 7 Wonders 1, if I ever finish it I'll go on to v2. I started out on win ME, then again on xp but it really requires a fast puter and more ram than I had. Having more fun with it now on faster laptop w vista. Maybe the difference is in the newer video card but not timing out so often. It used to freeze up on me too. Those guys at the bottom crack me up and I yell back at them often. Like other M3 games, half luck half strategy. Not MY fault they keep sending down wrong tiles right?thx for kudos, have fun.

I don't think 7 Wonders 2 is harder than 7 Wonders 1. It just has more gadgets and bombs and things to use to blow up more tiles. It has more special effects too, and the same crazy work crew!

I just love Carribean Hideaway. It is relaxing. After playing HO games, I always go to CH and play at least one level before I leave the computer. I also liked both 7 wonders. I'm on level 140 of Fishdom and like it too. It's relaxing.

et tu Scooter? I couldn't wait for my next BF credit to get Amazon, now I'm so bogged down in it I guess I can't wait now to buy CarHidy. I like Amazone, about 2/3 thru I think, but got slower and slower going. Noticed something else to, the colors are much brighter, colorful on my desktop monitor, I've been playing it on the laptop. Must be somewhere to adjust color on it, haven't found Vista settings. I mean, blander, lots of sand, muted tones and hardly keeps me awake each scene so much the same. Hard to explain, but don't want to start replaying on the desktop, not the kind of game I want to struggle thru twice. The 2 pcs aren't networked so separate history files. Getting itchy for a retreat before bed away from demands of my little people LOL. I've finished the villages all but a piece of a puzzle. OK I'm sold on CH.

Hello Pilar, I agree this is a great game. I'm having trouble on level 91. I keep running out of time just before I finish. I wish there was a way to turn off the timer. Is there a way to purchase more then 3 cannon balls? Any suggestions on strategy?
Ariall

You're not alone, Ariall. I've been stuck of Level 91 for about a month now. Unfortunately they did not add a relaxed mode, so I always run out of time too. There are some good suggestions on the BF forums, but I still haven't made it through this level. I keep trying a couple times a week just in case I get lucky. I really love this game though.

As Im not such a biiiig fan

As Im not such a biiiig fan of match3 games, I was surprised about the fun I had with Pastry Passion. A lot of diffrent items, funny and cute characters, challenging, good powerups. And specially the powerups I like - because from all the powerups you can buy, you only can use two in one level (diffrent to the other match3games I played). So you have to choose wisely.
Send a Kudo Post a reply Quote & ReplyAnd even if it more match4 than 3 ;)), Little Farm i liked also a lot. Its diffrent, new (ok, I read that this way of matching was used by an older game, but for me it was completly new, lol)and challenging... at least till you have all the upgrades, after this it gets a bit repetive. Anyway, as you are that amazed about carribean hideaway, Pilar, I should give it maybe a second chance :)- I played it, it was not bad, but not more for me. So maybe I will now play it with diffrent eyes and see, what it has to give me :),br> Greetings, Kayleigh
