    Wonderfully creepy, especially at night. Some of the puzzles were challenging, especially the moving the blocks to the right place. It was on the short side, probably around 2 to 3 hours. But I am really looking forward to the next one. I wonder if they will continue the story or use another story. I guess scary stories like that sometimes are just left hanging like that especially around a campfire and at night. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

    I'm not a huge fan of chilling, horror games, but in the spirit of Halloween I chose to try it. I'll admit that there were some elements that were predictable but there were other parts that were quite shocking. Overall in terms of terror, it was probably a 3 out of 5. I love the fact that you could find fireflys to earn hints. Of course I found myself questioning the main character as to why she would leave the door open during her exploration of her cabin or why she would leave the luggage outside. I think in any normal circumstances, people would bring the luggage in and probably close and lock the door. I think I would really like it if the developers kept in mind that their gamers have SOME common sense (cause I'll admit I can be crazy at times!). The only serious irritation of the game that I had was the boyfriend. **SPOILER** Who in their right mind wants to have a bonfire when the cabin's been ransacked? I wanted to shake that boy! But then again, I suppose the point was to tried to get killed, wasn't it? ^^ Good game, objects and puzzles both had their sets of difficulties and made some challenges. Do try it for yourself!     Wow! Play this game at night when it's dark and quiet. The creepy factor is cool and there are a few startling moments that make it really fun. However, it was definitely too short and ended abruptly. I still recommend it though for the great graphics, fun puzzles, and atmosphere. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

    I thought the graphics were very well done, no egregious grammatical errors. Certainly not an average HOG. There were a few moments where I nearly jumped out of my chair! I found some of the puzzles quite difficult and the hint system was rather clumsy. The game was also rather short for the price tag. However, I do look forward to the 2nd game in the series.     I have to say, I was disappointed in this game, especially after recos from people I trust. While I thought the storyline was great - and it definitely made me jump at times! - i found the gameplay itself to be clumsy. You had to do way too much back and forth to find the objects you needed, and some tasks - like dialing a phone # after you found it - were simply a waste of time. The ending was also ridiculous. Trying not to spoil anything here, but if anyone told me that THAT was the way to defend against an attacker, I'd laugh in their faces. Absurd. Sorry, but i think this one is way overrated and was definitely not worth $19.99. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

    Great mystery with some clues and games you have to work out. Really creepy at times and challenging without being impossible to do without hints. The only down side is it is very, very short. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

    Wow! This game is definitely not for the faint of heart, it's totally one of the most creepy HOG I've played. All the cat jumping out, walking shadows, the whole horror flick deal including excellent sound effects. I loved it as much as I'm scared by it! The whole gameplay was nicely carried as well throughout the game. Unfortunately, this game is also one of the shortest HOG I've ever played. The puzzles are sometimes hard, and I don't like having to hunt down fireflies to skip out of them. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

    Very good graphics, hidden objects made sense, (no hotdog in the rafters here), not too easy and not too obscure. Scared the crap outta me a coupla times. Only complaint is GH games are too high! When is RealArcade and GH gonna get a clue that no one's gonna pay $10-20 for a game they can get for $7 on other sites? Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

    This game was really good, a nice touch to halloween. The graphics were great and for once the dialogue wasn't annoying or stupid. I liked the way you were required to find tools to fix objects and the progression. The only thing I didn't like was the 30 minute trial--- not thrilled with that. I would rather wait and purchase this from BFG instead of paying $20 for it tho. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

    This game is totally "halloweenie". I really enjoyed the graphics, having to find things to make things work instead of just HO for no reason, and the all in all scary theme.     The game has nice graphics, three "scary" moments, and from the 1,5 - 2 hours to play, half an hour you just walk from one location to the other. Do you all realize, that you still pay $20 for a normal game? It is a triology? So I have to pay three times to get a complete game with a descent length!     Really Scary Game made me scream at one point aloud! I found myself accidentally yelling aloud in a scream that caused my hubby to come running out of the bathroom thinking something had happened to me. I was playing a game I just purchased called "Campfire Legends, The Hookman" and I highly recommend this game. It has some speech, hog, Ihog, puzzles, good graphics, really scary storyline. I purchased mine from Real arcade but Gamehouse has it also. The reason I screamed is I had my headphones on and was just casually looking around for a few objects and out jumped something in my face unexpectedly! I won't say anymore so I won't ruin the surprise but twice I yelled aloud. Now I am not a pansy wimp when it comes to games and my husband laughed so hard when he found out it was because of a game I screamed. I suggest you have your headphones cranked up and a dark room. So if you want to test a great game at a cheap price that is a murder mystery, come join the fun with me and let me know if you yell aloud also. I don't think you will regret it. I love the suspense of the game and really look forward to a sequel of it. I have been playing it for many hours so it isn't a short game in my estimation. The best part is you can skip puzzles and collect fireflies for hints. I really am enjoying this game and been playing it straight for 5 hours! After posting this I have read others screamed or jumped at certain points in the game. LOL Glad to see I am not the only one. As for the length as I said either I am very slow with this enjoying it, or it is not as short as some are saying. I have never gotten bored one time, its like a spooky movie in a game.     As a former Girl Scout, I remember sitting around the campfire, out the woods somewhere, telling these exact stories-the couple smooching in the car, the scratching noise on the roof, he goes out to check, he never comes back...& the cop says to the girl, do not turn around! Or the one where some maniac with a hook for a hand terrorizes the couple, & when they finally escape, they find his hook attached to the door handle. Our fav was the Man with the Golden Arm, wherein some old guy dies, & the guy who finds him also finds that the old guy has a solid gold arm. Before reporting the body, Mr Good Samaritan removes the golden arm & hides it. Later, everywhere he goes he hears the old man's voice "give me my golden arm", "I'm coming for you", "I know where you are" "you're right HERE!" at which point the story teller will grab someone sitting close to her, making her shriek in terror & everyone follows suit. It was a GREAT time!. Now someone has brought that story-telling past to life with Campfire Legends: The Hookman. As I worked my way thru the trial (which is an action-packed yeah! short 30 min, boo!,) there were already several 'scarey' moments !!!SPOILER ALERT!!!!! At one point, the girl opens a door & a cat leaps out in her face, making that scarey cat screech. I'm telling you, I yelped & jumped a foot!!! It was AWESOME!! This is definitely a game for those of us who love a good fright-I'm buying my tonight & playing it in the dark! "Depends" anyone????? Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

    First off, I am not into horror movies or games. So for me, this game was just a tad too abrupt/ spooky/ bah. Great artwork, though, pretty good game play. But not amazing. What annoyed me most was that mini games would show up before you could actually play them. I was clicking things (and wasting hints) on that punch machine before any of the buttons would move... Neither was it always clear what you were expected to do, and you end up running back and forth between scenes too much, having no clue where you last saw what you needed. Plus the game is fairly small, just a couple of places, and therefore rather short. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

    The demo is incredibly short, as noted earlier. But the game itself is pretty fun. I often mute games and skip the dialogue, but this one kept me listening and reading. Great, atmospheric sounds and a few fun jump-worthy surprises. The play itself was interesting and challenging enough to keep me engaged without being too frustrated.     I just finished this game and it had creepy elements. i though the game play was fun and interesting. you do have to go back and forth a lot from scene to scene to find things.     I just finished the "demo"; and have very serious reservations about the possibility of buying this one. The demo is an extremely abbreviated piece of the game. (It took only slightly more than 20 minutes until I reached the end of this.) I have to wonder, if they only give that much in the demo, is it because the entire game is so short that the usual 60 minute demo would allow most or all of the game to be finished? It was intriguing, as far as it went, but there was certainly not enough to really decide if I like it. I'll think long and hard before spending money on this.
