This is true , but you can always go into the Forums, and find the thread for the Betas and when you find a poster named James C. Smith you can pm him and let him know that you would like to Beta Test for Reflexive. He will email you back and let you know when you will be added. Build in Time is almost through Beta Testing, so maybe you can get on the list for the next game they have in development.

I betatested that game and deleted it after a while. Cant even really explain why, but I did not like it a lot. The gameplay, the graphics, nothing really touched me after build a lot(2), which for me for sure is the besser game. But when it will be released, I ll give the final version a try, maybe it changed enough to make me more comfortable with it.Greetings, Kayleigh

I have been beta testing this game from the start and have found it to be the best game around.

It looks great, the challenges are fantastic and I haven't had difficulties achieving all the stars at all levels so they can be done.
If I was asked to recommend just one game for someone to purchase; Build-In-Time would be it. -
I've got to say, I also beta'd this game, and I also loved it!
I also loved both Build-A-Lots, but thought they were quite easy (almost too easy), and found this offered more challenge in trying to complete the star goals.
Kayleigh, please do go back to it now it's finished, I hope it'll please you more now! It's also worth pointing out that the current release is build 23, so a lot may have changed since you tested it...

Just an FYI, The e-mail that I received yesterday about Build in Time stated that build 23 has some bugs. You need to update to build 24, that information was sent out yesterday.

I just bought the game one hour ago, very spontaneously, by the way, and I am so happy about it. This game is the best I've seen in the casual market so far, it even tops Build-a-lot, because it has all the things I missed in BaL. This will definitely a great favorite for the next Zeeby Awards. Thank you Reflexive.

I have just played the trial version now that it is available and it is really a good game. The twist on time with different decades is really fun and the pace is fast enough. At the same time, so far it doesn't seem that difficult but I always say that and end up in a though spot!!!

For me the game doesnt even come close to Build a lot 1 and 2, but its a diffrent kind of games. Build in time is a dash game, Build a lot timemanagement. I get bored by dashgames very fast. Just doing exactly the same stuff ever and ever again, just faster, does not give me very much. And in comparing with other dashgames, its also not in my high range. So just for the people, which might think, because of the like similar name, it might be a similar game also: Its not! (And to be honest, I dont believe that the creator where not creative enough to find another name. Its just easier to choose one, that is so near by a successfull game, that people give it a chance just because of the name) About the fun, a game gives, we can not argue, its a question of taste. But the genres can make a big diffrent. Eventhough the borders are sometimes blurredGreetings, Kayleigh

I like both, Dash and Timemanagement Games. What makes Build in time strongly better in my eyes is the really interesting and thoughtful storyline (one of the weakest points of Build-a-lot and a plot also can make a big difference) and that the depth, the replay value just beat Build-a-lot. The variety of upgrades is awesome and you REALLY have to think about what to buy next to beat the next level. One is even able to sell upgrades again if it's needed to beat a specific level. THAT is really deep gameplay. To reach all two, later on three stars of a level you have to plan ahead, instead of it's really impossible.

And as much as I Build-a-lot like - but there you also have to do the same stuff over and over again, let's face it. One building is added every level and the aims are changed slighty (sometimes), thats it. In Build-in-time the aims and the different buildings, upgrades, etc are much more varied so that this argument does not count if one is considering objectively. -
Im always happy, when I see someone having that much fun in a game {what does not mean, that I have to like it and specially this one bored me like hell). But it shows, that the developers did a good job, because gamers who like that game are not just saying:Yes, yes, its a nice game.Btw. every town in BaL has his own little story and yes, I belong to the gamers, that do not care that much of a story (same as sound). A good story can be an additional point for me, but it will never make a game(!) better or worse. Its about the gameplay. If I want a good story, I read a book.Same for me is sometimes the things complete outside of a game. As mentioned, I dont like using a similar name to get the people think, it is the same as.... or I dont like, when games are more less equal, just another name (Hidden object show - discory!the travel show for example). But even then: If the game is good, ok.. i can look over it. If not..... a good name, a good story or even a original game play does not help. I ll mention points like this - in a review or normal post, but it has nothing to do with my fun, i have with a game. Build in time bores me. I dont like it at all. And a maybe good story (played it for around three hours to give it a chance and couldnt find a 'good story') wont change my fun/bore - factor by playingBut to make that point clear: It is my(!) opinion, my way of deciding if I like a game or not. The developers didnt match my taste, but what I read here and other places, when the people liked it, they are really enthusiastic. And that shows for me, that they did a good job. Independent if I like the game or not.Greetings, Kayleigh

I absolutely like our ongoing discussion :D Especially because I really appreciate your opinion, even if it is different to mine ;) If the game did not match your taste, it is a pity but okay. I do not get the point with Virtual Villagers, though it is a great game out of question.

But I'd like to comment on two aspects you mentioned: 1) The story: It is the whole atmosphere in Build-in-time: the different music (according to the decade), the newspaper articles at the beginning of each decade, the personal development of your character (marriage, children, etc) and your "mentor", who slowly recovers the past of himself and your father. Thats just great and much more detailled than in any other Casual gae I've played so far. If this aspect is no argument for your personal taste, it's okay, but nevertheless it's a great aspect in general. 2) The name: Your judgement is unfair, in this case: It is a building game, so Build-in-time is just an appropriate name - and it does not create wrong expectations, because that is what you get (much worse this namedropping gets when it comes to the "Mania" or "Tycoon" games!!!).
All in all one can really notice how close the developers and the betatesters worked together in this case. Everyone should give it a try and see if it is his/her taste. -
Oh, I enjoy this discussion also :)

Im with you, that build in time is an appropriate name for the game. It just had the feeling from the first time I read it, that "someone" wants to point on the build a lot - games. And that was already before I even played it.And as I said, i dont care that much of story or sound. When I want a good story, I read a book. If I want to hear music, I hear music I like AND always in a better quality (what does not say any about the quality of the music in a game, but its just a nice feature, not a music file). I m kind of pure gamer. Take music and story beside and look at the game again, its just another simple dashgame, with for sure some nice features, but nothing original. Sometimes a game can be made by the souroundings, yes. I had this with Tropicabana. Eventhough Im not really a fan of Match3 (nice to play between, but not my favourite genre), this one makes me smile. Because of the characters, because of the way how to get upgrades and powerups. Even the location made me smile and it was nice to see the stage growing. But that was all part of the game, without that, you couldnt go on. The more less story was part of the game also. Still: For people which like that genre and do care, if the story is good or the music fits in the time of the game or to the story, the game sound good and maybe even better. I rate a game for the gameplay. And the pure gameplay bores me. We are really two diffrent kind of players: Most of what that makes so special for you, is for me just secondary (if not completly involved in the gameplay).Greetings, Kayleigh -
Only a short addition, because I'm in a hurry, the longer response will come later ;) We are not that different players, because we have really a lot of same games in our favorites (Look at Shopping Blocks - we both absolutely enjoyed it, though it did not get that good rating of Gamezebo, for example). Only a small amount of games we rate absolutely different, but I guess that is normal :)

I love to see a healthy discusion amongst players that respect each others opinions. Just goes to show that just because you disagree it doesn't mean you can't be polite about it.Good Job Orangeknickers and Kayleigh.

In Build-in-time has more variety, I agree build-in-time is better than build-a-lot.

I agree that this game is better the than build a lot games even though I have only played the hours trial. The added quirks of the different era's for example the music I personaly add's that something different instead of just building homes and making money.

I only played the trial of this game too, the gameplay and variety of build-in-time is what make this game better than build-a-lot, I don“t care for the music because most of the time I play with the sound off.

Hi everyone, I have a question. I think it is level 1961, I can not figure out what the requiremnet is for the star. The picture is of 2 hearts and a third heart that has just a sliver of red. I tried giving a house to a customer that had similar hearts but that didn't work. Does anyone know? If it isn't 1961, it is 1962. Thanks for all your help :)

Hi Tina824, If I am not mistaken you need to keep customer's satisfation levels above 2 1/4 stars. That is usually what that icon stands for. It may be for just 1 customer or all of them. You will know if you get a star after 1 person is satisfied to that specification. Hope I helped instead of confusing you. Good luck! Tracey
