I received a email from Hipsoft a couple of months ago indicating that this would be coming out sometime in July. Now, it's on its way. Can't wait. Just reading the review got my adrenaline pumped to go. I thought that they did a great job with BAL 3, with BAL 4, they really have gone all out to challenge us. I'm up for the challenge. How about you? Send a Kudo Post a reply Quote & Reply

I'm in Group 3 and we got the game for testing last Friday.  The time limit was a real pain so I ended up buying it and there are a few bugs here and there at the higher levels... I finished the Main Challenge with "Speedy" ratings on all levels playing most of the day yesterday and today.  There were only about 10 levels I had to play more than once or twice to get the "Speedys" once I figured out the best way to get started.  It's a little different than 3 just because Workshops and Recycle Centers take ALOT of power so you have to think about that before you build them.

Some of the levels are tedious with the power consumption and others are not so bad.

The main thing I wished I had from 3 was a BANK.  Getting large sums of money is not easy without them.  I seemed to spend more time just sitting and waiting for Rent to pile up after everything was built than in BAL 3.  The houses seem to be For Sale shorter periods of time so if there is one you wanting to buy you really have to jump on it fast and you REALLY have to  watch out for other houses For Sale and Low Ball them more so than in BAL 3 or you get MUCH less for your houses.

I'm not sure if I like it as much as 3, but it's pretty good so far.  I also finished the Challenge Campaign tonight with all Speedys...took a few retries and some of the last  minute goals were outrageous, but I did it.  Man do you need a bank in the last level of the Challenge campaign...I sat here for 5 minutes after finishing the requirements waiting for rent to pile up. BORING!

UPDATE I've finished all of the Challenges and only have one level left to get a speedy rating on...level 5 of the Expert Challenge.  Man what a bear.  As stated above the main thing I have against this game is the lack of any way to earn money other than the shops.  The levels that I had a hard time getting speedy on were all "get alot of money" levels and I would finish the requirements and then sit there waiting for money to pile up.  Even with shops earning profits and a Business Center to maximize them you just can't make money very fast!

UPDATE to the update...finished all levels with a speedy!  Now back to earn those other miscellaneous awards  At least with this one there is more to shoot for than playing in casual mode.
