Played 3 minutes, saw the timer, and my ulcer began to bleed...:).
Back to the "sender"...:).

I played only about 15 mins and uninstalled it. It's so difficult to find some of the objects that I had to keep resorting to the hints. Also I HATE the "music" which is just a phrase repeating over and over again but you can only disable all sound not just the music. Definite thumbs down from me - much as I love HOGs this one is not for me.

Oh, if I could have given this game zero stars, I would have in my review. I'm almost at a complete loss of words at how bad this game is. Boy, we really need another blockbuster HOG to get us out of the doldrums here. Is Big Fish listening? Please!!!!

I tried this game and have one word for it AWFUL. The ojects were too hard to find in the amount of time given and I dislike find the differences.
Send a Kudo Post a reply Quote & Reply -
AND some of the objects are hidden TOO well, AND even if you use a hint, sometimes the hint is so inconspicuous you even miss THAT. Sound quality isn't all that great, either.
Five thumbs down, my max.

One of the poorest games I've played in the last few months. As Prissy said, is BFG listening?
My question is, did the BFG staff play this game before they put their approval on it by selling it?
If I were them, I'd be embarassed. Maybe they should re-think having a new game every day. IMHO, it would be better if they released several QUALITY ones every week rather than this kind of drivel!
The Super Bowl is about to start so I hope it's a good one. Go Cardinals!!

I played the demo for only 10 mins and agree with everyone above. I give it 2 thumbs down, down, down........ Hopefully BF didn't pay too much for this one.

Ditto Everyone. This is one of the worst games I've tried. While it's great to have a challenge with finding objects, not to be able to find them at all does not make a game enjoyable, and I pride myself on being pretty good with HOG. For those who like HOGs, I would not recommend this game to anyone. I would give it a 1 on the rating scale!
Send a Kudo Post a reply Quote & Reply -
Totally agree with all the critiques that this HOG is not enjoyable since you cannot find the HOs. Toss in the eye-wrenching "spot the differences" scattered throughout and the difficulty intensifies. I adore challenging HOGs, but one also prefers a game to be enjoyable. Shame such great graphics are wasted. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

The name fits - it's broken!!! What were they thinking, that is if they were thinking at all... Construct poor, hints bad and hidden objects really truly hidden, and all this held together with a snail's pace.
Shouldn't someone at BFG check a game before making it available?
My radar bleeped the moment I saw the main character's name - Mr Matthew Hebrew. And to top it off they kept calling him Mr Matthew, I guess to circumvent the politically incorrect surname.
Broken Clues=Broken Game!

Usually when I play the demo I open the game folders first to see if I can tell how many levels there are in a game. It appears that there 15 location scenes that each have a find the object list, a find 10 objects of one kind, and a find the differences. So you go through these 15 levels 3 times each. Then there are what appear to be 5 other single layer levels. I’m not sure what they are like.
I played the full hour demo to see how far I could get in the game. You get 5 minutes and 3 hints in each of the games in each of the 15 scene locations. I didn’t run out of time on any of the scenes, so I didn’t have to repeat any of the scenes. The items were extremely small so I almost always used the 3 hints. Most of the time I would use the 3 hints just because I didn't want to look for the items anymore. I also used a magnifying glass for the whole game. I made it through 10 of the 15 levels in the 1 hour demo. So it is a short game.
It’s not a game I would buy because the items are so small and there are no puzzles. The hour I played was challenging but not fun or enjoyable. In fact it was rather unpleasant. I would not recommend this game to anyone.

Boy do I love Gamezebo. It is so much help to be able to read other people's opinions on games.

Broken Clues~~~Loaded and uninstalled 3x had the luxury of colored pixels all 3 times. What is up with BF releasing these games that still have issues? Maybe we all ought to bombard them today with our issues. Some of the games are not worth the trial let alone purchasing them. What do ya think???Im just a BFB

[A Humble Opinion with (Many) Grammar Issues] I can't believe a Big Fish such as Big Fish Games could release many same 'ol same 'ol Hidden Object games, including this poor and first-1*-ever-by-Gamezebo one, without thinking carefully. They just care their own games. And seems never mind ones of their partners. Ok, it ain't good at all, Big Fish!

I agree with everyone about the game. It took awhile to install on my laptop, which should have been my first clue, as the file is not that big. Then it was temperamental opening and loading. As previously mentioned, there are few "options" that can be tweaked...I think just "sound on/off" and "full or windowed screen".
The game itself is just awful.
I don't think I played past the first 3 rounds (not sure if that's what you would call them). I read the beta testing comments from a few months back, where everyone raved about the graphics. On my PC with a great graphics card, the scenes were muddled, foggy, too light in some spots, too dark in others. I also had to use all 3 hints each time. And although I lost loads of minutes for incorrect clicking I never ran out of time, so what's the point of a timer? It saddens me that with all of the feedback, from users, to Developers and Game Portals that such poor quality games are still being released believing that someone would want to spend their hard earned money on such horrible games. There are simply too many excellent games out there, both at discounted prices or even free, on ad supported download sites. No need to waste money on something like this game.
OK, I'm gonna get off my soapbox now, LOL. Just frustrated about this game (and, of course, the Cardinals unfortunate loss
). I'm still wearing my T-Shirt though!

I e-mailed BFG and expressed my dissatisfaction with their games lately expecially Broken Clues. For all other members you should do the same. Maybe if they get bombarded today they will take a look at what is going on with the games they are putting out there. BFB

I agree with everyone. This game has got to be the worst game I ever played. I'm a big HOG fan and usually get all that is offered (especially from BFG). I'm glad I decided against it this time. Two thumbs down on this one. I only have two more words to say -- "it stinks".

This is the worst hidden object game I have ever played. It actually managed to annoy me enough to make me post this, and I usually don't. The only good part was the great graphics, but they are completely wasted with this game. I only played it for about 20 minutes at the most before I got too annoyed to continue.

I only played about five minutes. I can't believe BFG released such an awful game. The time I spent downloading and uninstalling it is time I will never get back!

I downloaded it but hadn't installed it yet. Now I don't plan to.

I guess I'm lucky I couldn't get it to work. Downloaded it once and it locked up my computer when I tried to run it. Rebooted, uninstalled and tried again. Same thing. Glad I'm not missing anything. The description sounded good. I love mysteries but not bad ones. Thanks for the heads up everyone.

Oh, I'm sure they know. They have forums, too and they ACTUALLY read and participate in them. They happen to be a game site that listens to their customers. If you don't believe me, then you need to come spend some time in the forums there.

Yuck times 1000. I had to use a magnifying glass to see some of the objects and trying to identify them using a clue - looks like mashed potatoes to me! It is not only not fun, but it is enough to put gaming back into the stone ages. Even my cat hates it.
Send a Kudo Post a reply Quote & Reply -
Awful, awful, awful. And I am a confirmed HOG addict. I love a challenge...the harder they are, the more I like them. But this game wasn't awful because it was hard, it was just stupid. I don't know who came up with it, but they should seriously consider getting out of the gaming business.

I tried this game for about 30 minutes. Good Grief! I never got past the bedroom. Big Fish made a serious error putting this one up. It needds to go back to the drawing board.

I really like HOG games, so I thought this would be fun...at least for the 1 hour demo. Even a mediocre HOG is somewhat entertaining for that long. WRONG! This has to be the worst one I've ever seen. I have a great 22" monitor and usually those tiny hidden objects do not elude me. I can get within 3 or 4 inches of the monitor and really hunt those suckers out. This was the first time I ever uninstalled a HOG before the time was up. I think I made it about 15 minutes before I decided life was too short to waste time on a game this bad. If the regular scenes didn't do it, the find the differences cinched it! It would be interesting to see how may poor unfortunate gamers buy this one thinking it will be fun. I hope they all get their money back.

Big Fish Games had better learn How to Refuse a Terrible Game after this one!

I couldn't agree more with all of you! I too am a rare poster, but this game is so bad I just had to add my 2 cents. I can't imagine that any beta tester would have given this game an acceptable rating. I sure hope BFG is listening......there hasn't been a really good game to get excited about for far too long!!
Send a Kudo Post a reply Quote & Reply -
This game was horrible! I tried it for 30 min. and was surprised I did it for that long! I deleted it! The makers should burn, burn, burn this game! You can't see anything, some of the objects don't even look like what they are asking! The time! God! THE TIMER! I have never seen anything like it 3 sec. penalty for wrong click! they only give you 5 min!! What a lousy! game!
to the makers!

I agree. BFG is a fantastic site & you can't beat their $6.99 price per game if you join their Game Club & sign up to buy 12 games in 12 months! I think I bought 12 in 3 or 4 months!
As to Broken Clues, I dowloaded the trial successfully but when I tried to play it, I got a black screen with pieces of OTHER GAMES & other trash, so tried it again & got nothing but a screen of colored pixels! Luckily I was able to get out of it both times using cont, alt , del. Anyway, I immediately uninstalled it wo/giving it a 3rd chance!

I have been a member of BFG for a multiple years and I love there games! This is not one of the ones that they made and think they are just sponsoring it!.
You are fortunate that it didn't work! I know you would have deleted it any way!

LOL I haven't played this game yet and I'm downloading it right now, wow!!! I've never seen everybody agreeing by landslide on how bad a game is, most of the times you get mixed opinions but this one is just one of those rare cases where everybody hates it! I must play this! back in a couple of hours with my thoughts

Ileea LOL thanks for the welcome, and yes I am joining the club of "people who thought broken clues is the worst game ever". I can't believe how bad it is, and I thought the English in Haunted Hotel was awful, wow! It looks like a pre-school foreign kid wrote this! And the graphics... I hope the developers either take a 360º turn and start making descent games, or seriously consider about leaving the videogame industry, this is just outrageous!
Send a Kudo Post a reply Quote & Reply -
I knew it wouldn't take you long! :) I agree with you on haunted hotel! I couldn't take the pre- school reading and took it off! They can out with the second one I didn't even look at it! Only it can't beat Broken Clues.

Hello! I've looked everywhere for a walkthrough to this game. I love HOG's and even though I agree with the majority, it isn't a well thought out game, I am still trying to play it. I know that you can skip some of the scenes, but I hate that! The screen I'm stuck on is one that doesn't have clues. I'm in Linda's dressing room, or bedroom? All you see is a white vanity with a window on the right. There are about 5 or 6 black shapes of objects to find. I have found them all except a shoe. The left side of the screen that has the window is blurry. I found one clue in the blurry mess, but I can't find the shoe. I have searched for a walkthrough for this game and it isn't to be found. I do find the game challenging which I like, but I can't find this or any help to find it. Can anyone help me? Please?
Thanks!

The shoe (I only found it by clicking every piece of the picture) is on the blue striped cover of the stool, it is somewhere amongst the silver thing which is on the chair.

Thanks so much ElRomeral!!!!! I was able to put this crappy game to bed. I finished it, still hate it. I had to click all over that stool a couple of times to get it, still didn't see it anywhere, it was just as you said lucky click. What a terrible game!

This is how Big Fish describes the game,,,
Solve nefarious murders as Mr. Matthew, a seasoned investigator, in this Hidden Object game. Start by solving the case of Mr. Harrison, one of the richest businessmen in town. Objects are uniquely hidden as ghost-like items in the scenes. It will be a hard case to crack and only you can solve it with your keen eye for detail! Scour the crime scene and investigate suspects to find the murderers.
